Is it a better option to

1) get a non-unifi compatible router like Xiaomi Mi Pro Router (Mi R3P) and connect via Ethernet from existing unifi router to broadcast the wifi ?

or

2) get a good unifi compatible router like Asus AC-RT68U and broadcast the wifi directly?

Option 1 is definitely cheaper but is it worth to invest into such setup? Will the existing unifi router bottleneck the Mi Pro router even if it's connected using Cat6. Ethernet cable? Currently on Unifi 500mbps plan.

Main concern is data throughput rate and consistency rather than wifi strength (single floor unit with 1 wall or door in between).

Spec wise, not much  difference. Firmware / support wise, I think A9 better. If you're adventurous, Tenda AC18 can use Merlin/Tomato firmware.

If you plan to attach USB HDD, Tenda has much faster filesharing performance.

I use Tenda AC18 as my home's ground floor AP. Great coverage for a single floor.

Hi there, I am currently using Ugreen cat 7 cable and planning to order more today. Are you saying it is actually fake? Cat 6 sold as cat 7? If so I might as well buy cat 6 which is cheaper.

On another topic, I am currently using Cat 7 from modem to router, over 20 meters. From router to ps4 Pro and laptop is either Cat 5e or Cat 6. I am on 100Mbps Unifi and my laptop speed test ping is around 7 to 9 (8 most of the time) and speed up to 100 to 110+ Mbps. However when I do a speed test on ps4 Pro, it goes up to 300Mbps plus despite I am only on 100Mbps.

So my question is, is my wired connection only capable to go up 300 plus or is it Sony Ps4 Pro tests only up to 300 plus?

I try connect my pc with cat6 cable and it can give me max 500/100, but when i try use WIFI archer T6E it only reach max 230/100 even connection 5G show me connection speed is 866Mb

any idea what setting i still need to do to maximize my pc wifi internet speed?
