What is the meaning when the myhsbb returns
10Mbps
Adsl Line Not Eligible for SUBB.

10 Mbps means I am connected to a 10 Mbps-capable port currently?

Not elig for subb means?
*
It means your property is on ADSL infra with a 10Mbps port.

Maximum speed you can get is 8Mbps.

SUBB is those projects on VDSL2 infra.

A little bit out of topic. My motorola cordless phone c1001la that TM gave, the battery kaput already. It uses 300mah battery. Can I replace it with higher capacity battery like 400mah or even 600mah? Will there be any issues?
*
Make sure you use Ni-MH battery. The charging is designed for batteries with Ni-MH chemistry. wink.gif

QUOTE(MGM @ Aug 14 2019, 03:38 PM)
I also face similar problem.Dont think it is LAN cable problem. I don't know how to pull out the white fiber optical cable from the box or modem(pic below). Thinking of replacing it with a new one to see if it is the problem. What do u call this cable?

*
This is known as the SC-SC patch cord.

Your cable is prolly one of the earlier ones with a bigger bend radius. Newer ones are actually really flexible.

GP Recyko is a Ni-MH battery. They are fairly cheap and available on major stores.

So is it ok if i replace the original motorola 300mah battery with a higher capacity battery? Thinking to get the 650mah. Will there be any issues?
*
No issues with that.

Wait, they are supposed to give you a new set of router. hmm.gif

The ZTE WiFi performance is kinda crap but at least it is stable.

Nope. They used back the vdsl zte.
After they installed at hall near tv onu+router, i relocated it under my stair. Roughly center of house.
Now the black fiber drop cable gulung² like no tomorrow... 😂

2.4ghz ok. 5ghz kinda low signal inside rooms.

Btw, can we diy cut the fiber? I see the sc-sc connector can be bought.. but cutting it need special tools?
*
You will need a splicing tool and kinda hard to make it right without training.

Looks like now TM is giving d-link DIR-842 C2 wifi router.

Dun really like the brand but I supposed the coverage and speed should be significantly better than archer c5 version 2?
*
Signal is stronger on the Archer C5 IMO. A cafe I frequent uses the C5 and the WiFi is super stable too.

I got some confusion here. I subscribed 30mbps package with 60gb quota early this year.

But recently I found many offers from resellers mostly in facebook, offering the same package but with unlimited quota.

However the offers are only for new applicants only.

Are these offers valid? Even in the official unifi website doesn't have this kind of offer.

*
Check with the seller properly.

It could be unlimited with fair usage policy.

Technically it is still usable after 60GB.

i did ask about this, my installer said, all new fiber installation direct use fiber drop cable from pole to modem.
the old type installation with the FWS seems getting some problem after some times.. getting higher 'noise' signal quality.  unsure.gif
*
They are doing direct from pole to BTU for most new installation now.

Many users dirty or damage the connector when they are removing or shifting their modem.

Ugreen quality is not great, there are some people reported sync speed dropped to 100Mbps after some time.

I recommend DINTEK instead.

Any Deco M4 owner can try this setup?
*
Deco M4 in router mode wouldn't forward IPTV VLAN traffic to the mesh node.

IPTV traffic will only be available from the main node.

The current mesh implementation on the Deco lineup will not allow any workaround for now.

QUOTE(westlife @ Sep 5 2019, 10:07 PM)
So it does support pppoe for unifi? since you said it is router mode?

So from deco m4 to hypptv, u need to do the vlan tagging for the port of deco m4 to

Actually in terms of look, I prefer Linksys one. Just seem like no one really has used it with unifi that can confirm that it works.

[attachmentid=10311397]
*
All TP-Link Deco lineup support Unifi Internet.
HyppTV is added to M4, M5 and M9 recently.

It's all really simple to setup, just enable IPTV and select Unifi.

So is this mean Deco M4 in AP mode wouldn't forward both IPTV VLAN traffic and internet traffic to the mesh node but it can forward independent traffic to the mesh node (internet only or iptv only, we can choose)?
Can Asus mesh device solve my problem?
*
Technically what you want to achieve is to bridge VLAN 600 wirelessly to the node.

I don't see any way it can be achieved easily either with TP-Link Deco or ASUS AiMesh. They are pretty rigid in their configuration to ensure system stability.

A set of cheap PLC powerline can solve your issue. smile.gif

Hello guys,

I am currently using Asus AC3200 Router, together with TPLink WDN8280 AC3200 Card.
But my speedtest is still showing 260Mbps only.

What could be wrong?
SSD? CPU (i7-4790)
*
ASUS RT-AC3200 peak speed on 5Ghz is around 700Mbps and that depends on your WiFi signal strength as well.

If you are after 2 walls to the router, 260Mbps sound about right to me.

Yes, they manage to settle my router..
Change to Dlink one.. As they say currently supply 2 brand name with TPLink & Dlink..

If want other brand name or model router, then go and buy by yourself.
If you just install it and not more than 1 year, then it should have warranty claim..

Nowadays router is really costly, not cheap at all.. cry.gif
*
A half decent smartphone is RM1000 and a decent laptop is at least RM2000

Even you have 5 devices in a house, that's at least RM5000 worth of devices connected to a router.

Don't cheap out on router, get a good one else you will be bottlenecked by a router with all your expensive devices. laugh.gif

Bro why u didnt get ax11000 price near ax88u ledi. hmm.gif
*
Tri-Band benefit is really minimal unless you planning to mesh it.

The rest of the specs is basically the same as RT-AX88U and comes with 4 more LAN ports than the GT.

Currently the RT-AX88U receive firmware updates faster than the GT-AX11000 too.

AX11000 has 10Gb Ethernet port tongue.gif

But yeah, still a waste if everything else in the house is still just 1Gb Ethernet
Hence why I also told him to get the RT-AX88U instead of the GT-AX11000
*
Just 2.5G. tongue.gif

10G is coming on RT-AX89X with SFP+. No point for us. laugh.gif

They are either refurb or repaired.

You are lucky if you get something with full 100% working performance.

I knew someone in this business.

Hi, planned to buy a new router to replace my old router DIR-842.
Below is the price i saw from lzd.

RM258 TP-LINK Archer C9 AC1900
RM305 TP-LINK Archer A9 AC1900 MU-MIMO
RM418 TP-LINK Archer A10 AC2600 MU-MIMO
RM425 TP-LINK C2300 AC2300 MU-MIMO

RM235 D-LINK AC1900 DIR-878 MU-MIMO
RM375 D-Link AC2600 DIR-882 MU-MIMO

I also read some review and wonder why A9 is cheaper than A10 but the speed is better rclxub.gif

my unifi package is 500Mbps, any suggestion?  notworthy.gif

Let me rank the performance from best to the worst.

Archer C2300
Archer A10
Archer A9
Archer C9

It is really hard to be consistent when testing WiFi routers but the A10 is faster than A9 and comes with beefier specs too.

I don't recommend D-Link due to their firmware. No reasons to buy D-Link except when they are much cheaper than TP-Link.

if want wifi to be consistent use Access Point Business like Aruba or Ubiquiti Separately not depend on router itself ...

As good as they are, recommending Ruckus or Aruba level gear to end user is not really a good choice.

Configuring a normal router is already quite a challenge for some users.
