Unifi service truly sucks and I regretted renewing my contract for another 2 years to upgrade my line to 30M!
Really big regret worse with the recent 30M and 50M promo their line has gotten from bad to worse. You can't even max out a 30M line with tests to neighboring countries such as SG or HK, how do you convince your customers to take up higher tiered plans such as 100M, 300M or even 800M? To prove to you that there's nothing wrong with your speedtests locally and my line itself here are screenshots with the first test conducted with Webe(UniFi Mobile). My line is a Unifi 30M/10M FYI. With a local speedtest I get FULL 32Mbps even exceed the plan I paid for. ![]() When I started testing SG, HK, LA and London servers, that's when I got really disappointed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I WANT to SWITCH out of this miserable ISP ASAP! QUOTE(jusbella @ Sep 5 2019, 08:26 AM) My first local test result already prove otherwise. More than the speed I subscribed(Unifi 30M/10M) with 32Mbps with Unifi Mobile test server(Webe).Only when I tested with international servers the speed dips more than 1/2 of what I subscribed.(Not even getting 15Mbps) So it has nothing to do with line quality performance(Fibre or VDSL2). My VDSL2 for high rise is capped physically at 48Mbps and theoretical speed is capable of close to 100Mbps because of good short loop copper conditions in the building. What restricts me is only the account TM assigns to me. Thus the reason why my speedtest is capable of showing 32mbps with some extra speed when doing local speedtests. |

QUOTE(hellfried @ Sep 5 2019, 07:57 AM) Has anyone tried to get their unifi user id and pw from TM? This is the reply I got from them: Yes that's true. They will offer you a solution that frustrates you so much that you finally give up pursuing. That's the dirty tactic Malaysian companies love using."For your information we do not keep record of unifi password, so if you wish to get the password we will need to submit report to reset it and you will receive password within 24 hours via sms. Once receive password via sms internet will get disconnected and you will need to reconfigure the router to reconnect back." Sounds like a very complicated process. Why do they make it so hard for customers to use their own router? |

QUOTE(lowck @ Sep 20 2019, 02:41 PM) Obviously you have little experience with VPNs. ExpressVPN app has known to be hacked giving free access to their own premium servers. They're more congested than many other VPN providers. There are many lesser known VPNs out there which have very good hosting within our country or SG. Server load is very low. Even better you can set up your own VPS server with a very good peering hoster with your current ISP. This post has been edited by Candy12: Sep 20 2019, 03:01 PM |

This thread front page needs updating.
This--> 1. This service is a 24-month contract and a termination fee of RM500 is chargeable for termination of service within the contract period. WRONG! |

QUOTE(kelvinspire @ Sep 23 2019, 06:33 PM) Guys, I wan't to terminate my Unifi. However I accepted the Turbo upgrade last year. Did they came and replace your router for the Turbo speed upgrade? If yes, 100% your contract has been renewed for another 2 years with the new UNFAIR policy.will it be considered a new 24 month's contract from the time I accepted the Turbo offer? If I terminate now will they charge me termination fee? (my contract was up long before the turbo upgrade) QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Sep 23 2019, 06:44 PM) ![]() |

QUOTE(kelvinspire @ Sep 23 2019, 06:46 PM) Talk? How much are you paying now? Over RM150? Remaining months say 24 months, you need to pay RM150 x 24mths if you decide to terminate early. That's a whopping RM3600 penalty which is absurd. Your new router got costs this much? |

It's so downright obvious.
This sweet talkers who are praising on this forum for TM are indirectly doing marketing and advertising. Where got people so free go around praising their ISP one? Are they really doing it for FREE? Psychologically speaking, only when problem arise people complain, when there's no problem or you're enjoying good experience, you'll just keep it to yourself. This is typically most selfish nature of most humans. Why would you want to tell people your ISP is good and let the public flood your line and end up congesting it? |

QUOTE(Rudd @ Oct 2 2019, 08:35 PM) Once they replace your hardware especially the router, your contract will automatically be renewed and TM's early termination penalty is most nasty one. It's meant to hold you back for another 2 years when we don't know what's going to be like next year when many new players are going to join the HSBB wholesale network. |

QUOTE(soyusa @ Oct 24 2019, 11:18 PM) Today went to TM Point Cyberjaya and request to change to YEP package (100Mbps @ RM129), changed was successful and it reflected around 1.5 hours later. Locked yourself down for another FULL 24 months and did not demand that your old equipment including DECT phone be replaced with newer equipment? What a waste. At least la make them give you a new router and STB la. The staff told me If renew via online or live chat, going take some time. Previously: unifi 100Mbps (STB) BEST Now: unifi 100Mbps - Super Value YEP 2019 What I was told from Live chat (yesterday) and today (TMPoint): - Remain same for speed 100Mbps + free 600 minutes call + can use back existing STB for UnifiTV - Tied to 24 months contract. Price remain same after contract ended (RM129 + 6%SST) - No warranty for existing equipment (STB, Wifi/Router and DECT phone), while BTU remain as lifetime warranty. Since I renew it late and the October bill already released, I will only entitled for two months FREE (Nov and DEC). Oh well... better than get nothing. (RM129 x 24mths) x 1.06 = That's a commitment payment of RM3281 for just internet access! No new equipment replaced, no extra features or speed upgrade, you willing to accept it? |

QUOTE(cba5566 @ Oct 29 2019, 07:16 AM) Quite obvious, who would spend time promoting and answering technical questions for TM for free? If you're Chinese, you'll know the name even sounds weird, it sounds reversed and the word styling he used to post above. Chinese name is usually Wai Soon. |

The public thinks TM, Maxis and the other operators sponsor this forum for free one issit?
Of course they've their staffs posted here to promote their products and answer your technical questions pretending to be regular posters especially in their own created threads. Malaysians got so dumb and mentally challenged not to have noticed this or forum users are less intelligent? |

QUOTE(ahpek26 @ Oct 29 2019, 11:31 AM) No need to be so paranoid lol. Let's take my example which is probably the majority of the Malaysians use case. My choice for unlimited uncap high speed internet is either Maxis or Unifi and no Time broadband. Since TM owns the fiber infra it's pretty obvious I'm going for unifi. In addition maxis's broadband is not the best quality so that's another reason for unifi. If Time was available I would definitely use that but landed property so bad luck, no chance. There's nothing to be paranoid or even be in doubt. even you'd said it this is one of Malaysia's most popular forum. The traffic involved and the stakeholders of course it's not some hobbyist run forum but heavily invested by large corporations for making till this stage.Do some of the forum members work for TM? No doubt since this forum is pretty popular in Malaysia. Are they promoting anything? Doubt they need to since most people already know about it and are actively discussing. If they're answering technical questions then that's a good thing. Easy on the insults, we know we're not as smart as you so relax la don't be so angry. Since you're so smart please educate use dumbos more, thanks. We welcome your almighty trove of knowledge, probably. Heck our government or enforcement agencies such as PDRM has investment in this sort business because of bid data involvement. They want to make the speech platform as casual as possible to make it addicting but you know it's more to it. So yes, post responsibly in public forums at all times. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 29 2019, 01:48 PM) I'm surprised to see everyone targeting soonwai for RM 159 - 800Mbps, there are cheaper 800Mbps users on this thread. TM should stop infuriating and provoke their customers by selecting a "handful" of their so called lucky customers and giving them <RM150 800Mbps plan. Please come out officially and explain to all your customers why are you playing such games with the public. Else I think these people are just trying to troll the public boasting about their non existent plans to make things worst for TM's marketing. |

If TM practices fair policy and non prejudism, please make your customer loyalty award plan official for the public to be aware of.
We're seeing so many differences of plans and discrepancies among the public when it comes to plan. Why some are getting and some are not getting Turboed. How do you address those who didn't get it but have already been with you for years while the lucky ones were given incentives/bonues speed upgrades? Trying to tell your customers off and using dupe accounts to down talk me, you're just making a fool of your company's image. Suddenly weirdos and non active accounts appear out of nowhere. I may be new to this forum, but not new to this industry. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 29 2019, 03:20 PM) OK, so if we get cheaper and others can't get, we are trolling? If you hang out on this thread long enough, we did share our bills here. Fine, we photoshop those bills. What do you get for scanning your bills and posting for public to notice?Wait, why do I even bother to explain to you? OK, if we are using their product and support the product we are using, we are paid fans? Wow. Such logic. "Trying to tell your customers off and using dupe accounts to down talk me, you're just making a fool of your company's image. Suddenly weirdos and non active accounts appear out of nowhere. " Wow, who are you? Those people on this thread are longer than you are here. So just don't make everyone laugh. I'm sure you're aiming for RM88 for 1Gbps next year! Thank you for your volunteer to become TM Ambassador. |
