Special Unifi TV page for this Raya is up now, including the introduction of the new app - Durioo+ (free access can be redeemed starting from 18th March – 30th April 2023) and free viewing of all Unifi TV channels from 21st – 27th April 2023.

Link: https://campaign.unifi.com.my/raya/

So far, there's no news of other new linear channels and OTT apps being launched within now till the end of this April. But a possible linear channel of Durioo+ is in discussion (I suggested it a while ago).

I hear got new announcements coming very soon. Let’s wait.
*
New linear channels like HBO, Discovery, History, Cartoon Network or new OTT apps like Paramount+? At this point I don't really expect Netflix because it's harder and more expensive to get the Netflix certification nowadays as TV providers. Singapore's Singtel TV has even dropped/ceased Netflix because of this change.

Singtel is like opposite of starhub. Only linear and starhub more ott focus
*
Yup. Also, their market is way smaller than our Malaysian one due to population, so they need to pay more just to get the same content. Netflix is okay for Unifi TV as long as the subscribers don't need to bear the certification cost if you know what I mean. Ala-carte subscription is not a bad idea at all if they don't bundle it with Ultimate Pack or having a more expensive tier of Ultimate Pack (like RM 90 per month).

Considering Netflix is hiking their prices, yeah I doubt can get for free. at least Disney is through a local/region subsidary, Hotstar, which is how they can give it to us for free.
*
It's more like a budget thing instead of regional. Most people somehow prefer Disney+ Hotstar over Netflix, and Unifi TV has partnership with Disney/FOX before, so it's easier to get it compared to Netflix.

But I actually expect them to eventually include HBO and Discovery as part of RM60 Ultimate Pack along with the HBO + Discovery app. Well, I hear before that FOX channels are way more expensive than HBO + Discovery (Warner Bros. Discovery) channels. That's why Unifi TV is managed to bring in more channels than before.

Celestial Movies and CCM have 7 days catch-up feature now. Must have high viewership I bet. Also, Nickelodeon's picture quality has become blurrer these few days. Not sure whether it's been downgraded to SD or what.

Fu yoh~ If HBO and Discovery all incoming, then HBO Go and Discovery+ straight open of it. rclxm9.gif

Just an update, WBD (Warner Bros Discovery) has announced to cease Discovery+ Philippines and shifts its full focus on HBO Go, which means that HBO GO may be the only OTT app that covers both HBO MAX and Discovery+ content. Still, no news on the HBO + Discovery combo app in the region.

A new on-demand channel named U-PICK is launching soon on Unifi TV. The team has confirmed this news via Messenger, but no official info has been given to the customer service department regarding the content offered by the on-demand channel. An ads on Facebook posted by a TM Authorised Dealer, claims that U-PICK will be offering latest movies. Still, no confirmation yet regarding what movies will be offered. I personally hope it's not some crappy movies, but fresh movies from Hollywood major studios. tongue.gif

*
Not sure. I just hope it's not a pay-per-view channel like HyppFlicks+, but a VOD channel like BBC First. We need a movie channel whether it's a linear or VOD channel.

the beinsports included in unifi got live f1 to watch ?
*
Yes. In fact, you can login beIN Sports CONNECT using the Unifi TV account (Ultimate Pack only) to watch all the live and extra matches (if there's any) in the app. It's less delay and smoother if you watch it on the beIN app compared to Unifi PlayTV / Unifi TV app.

Still no announcements?

Nickelodeon has reverted to HD about 10 days ago, and remains so. Cbeebies's multi-language audio track service has changed from English and Mandarin to English and Malay (not all shows have Malay dub). Plus, the team has confirmed that U-PICK is just a promotion thing, not a VOD channel. Very misleading.

So, what news do you have, @Iptvfan?

Tonton Up is now offering Animax and GEM as well as TVN. And the good news is that the live feed for Animax and GEM DOES NOT HAVE THAT 15 MINUTE DELAY that Unifi TV has.
*
Just like other OTT apps like HBO GO, Tonton doesn't need to comply to the censorship board to delay their linear channels like what pay-TV does (satellite, cable and IPTV).

1st May, Zee Cinema as a part astro movies subscription replace BollyOne HD.
Zee Cinema is good channel Hindi Movies. why unifi tv move out this Hindi Channel.
*
If I'm not wrong, both Unifi TV and Astro ceased their ZEE channels due to broadcasting rights issues. Also, Unifi TV licensed the Zee channels from YuppTV instead of paying Zee to carry the signals. On the other hand, Astro forks out more money to get the direct feed from them. But recently, a change of practice is going on with Unifi TV as they stopped licensing channels from YuppTV, which resulted in the cessation of a lot of Indian linear channels on the platform, including Polimer, Colors Hindi and Sony channels. The ones you currently watch on Unifi TV are direct feed licensed from and provided by Sony India, Zee India and Viacom 18 India.

If Unifi TV wants to get more quality Indian channels, the only way is to pay more to the channel providers from India instead of 3rd party channel distributors like YuppTV. Bare in mind that both ways are legal, but just the channel owners don't like the old way. That's all.

Plus, it's very unfair to compare Unifi TV with Astro. Astro is offering Zee Cinema to Movies Pack (around RM 90) and ala-carte purchase viewers only, but you want Unifi TV to bundle it under Varnam Plus Pack (RM30). What kind of logic is that?

The Varnam pack already comes with Simply South app which has the best and latest south indian esp Tamil movies. Big catalogue also

For rm30…. Come on…
*
To further support your argument, all Astro in-house Indian channels - Astro Vaanavil, Astro Vellithirai, Astro Vinmeen and Astro ABO Thangathirai license South Indian movies, which release first on SimplySouth before they premiere on these channels.

One thing that SimplySouth lacks is that the app doesn't have any Hindi movies considering South Indian movies are in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

For Hindi movies fans, you can check out ShemarooMe. One more thing, if you prefer Zee5 app over SimplySouth app, just switch it on Unifi TV Streaming App page. By doing so, you'll get access to all the Zee5 linear channels and VOD titles.

It seems like something new is heading to Unifi TV. The Unifi TV FAQ page is down now.

Link: https://unifi.com.my/tv/support/unifitv

The page usually has a section, which states what's launching and what's cessing on the platform. tongue.gif

If unifi tv wants addons Zee Cinema, this channel not under Varnam Pack but is under Ultimate Pack Subscribers or can ala carte.😊
*
Does the Astro's cost-cutting version of Zee Cinema still excite you or you'll still think that Unifi TV not getting the channel (normal Asia feed) is still better than Astro feed?

In my opinion, the reason Astro launches its Zee Cinema feed to license every single movie it shown on the channel because the typical Asia feed doesn't allow them to do so. Like how Celestial Movies has more than 100 movies every month, but only some of them are available to stream through Astro VOD.

Rumours.

New channels launching mid this year include HBO, History, Discovery, cartoon Network and Crime & Investigation. Rumours only. Also maybe one Chinese GE channel.

Quick question. Is this still happening or it's been given up?

Nice. They have recently started licensing titles from Smithsonian Channel, but they put them under Rock Entertainment's Catch-up section. Hope to see the linear channel soon instead of just VOD along with Aniplus and Miao Mi. They have improved their censorship for U-PICK movies by longer censoring certain swear words like the F-word, but they still censor words that are offensive by targetting at certain group of people. Also, it seems like they're experimenting the HDCP feature to prevent people from recording their content without permission.

To comment back on the latest Unifi TV app's update, I'm really glad that they bring back the "sort by channels" feature while maintaining the existing "sort by genres" one. Regarding the default/preferred subtitles/audio track, they should implement the same one from the mobile version of the app, which will still remember the previous choice of both subtitles and language audio track even after restarting the device multiple times. Well, it shouldn't be an issue since apps like Disney+ Hotstar on UPB have the same "memory" for previously selected subtitles & language audio track.

So, July - September?! Just in time for M3GAN to premiere on HBO Asia (probably around October). Hope to see Babylon on the network too. biggrin.gif

Also, no wonder the promo of getting free access to Lionsgate Play ends on 30 Sept 2023. I know they're introducing something based on their past practice.
