QUOTE(devilmaysmile @ Sep 19 2021, 06:36 PM) When I discuss and comment this issue at official D+H page and unofficial group been attack by some people. "Call me back to China.", "At Malaysia don't know Bahasa" "Last time tv1,tv2,tv3 only bahasa subtitles now why complaint?"Β and alot unpleasant word. I not rasict but here is Malaysia with different kind of people and language. We pay money for the service and have right to ask. QUOTE(jhleo1 @ Sep 19 2021, 09:12 PM) Keyboard warrior.... Let them be. Lots of other channels platform to choose. D+H will lose out Chinese audience n suffer only. QUOTE(devilmaysmile @ Sep 19 2021, 11:38 PM) That's why we don't get effective and constructive online discussions everywhere... especially in those fb groups like what you mentioned. That's why I am glad to get to know Lowyat Forum Talking about Chinese subtitles, like for the recent channel launches on Astro, especially HBO Hits, HBO Family, BBC Lifestyle, Paramount... Some netizens started to make noise on Astro fb page, complaining why those new channels: - doesn't have Malay subtitles? - why only Chinese subtitles is available? - aren't you forget that Bahasa Malaysia is bahasa kebangsaan (national language)? ... and many more unpleasant provoking words. If you guys still remember many years ago when Astro firstly launches Fox Family Movies channel, they actually offered both English audio and Mandarin audio dub. Many Malay viewers were outraged on astro fb page, asking why there's Mandarin audio dub but don't have Malay audio dub? And whatever unpleasant provoking words you can think of, they've said it all. Eventually, Astro removed the Mandarin audio dub on Fox Family Movies channel, therefore until today, Fox Family Movies channel on Astro is only available in English audio. Back to Unifi TV, BBC Lifestyle channel doesn't offer any subtitle tracks at all. Is it because they know that since there's only Chinese track available, so to avoid backlash from the Malay community, TM decides not to provide that Chinese subtitle track at all, hence making BBC Lifestyle channel on Unifi TV to have no subtitle track? Does it means, as long that particular TV channel doesn't Malay subtitles, then they shall not provide Chinese subtitle track regardless, to prevent public backlash? So what can we conclude here? QUOTE(devilmaysmile @ Sep 22 2021, 08:02 PM) This year WebOs alot of interface changing and more convenient compared with Samsung. WebOs come Disney+Hotstar but until today Samsung Malaysia still unable update it. If the OS of the TV is your main concern, then it's better that you just stick to TVs that runs on Android TV (or newer Google TV) operating system. Samsung just know marketing trick. When u ask TV promoter, Qled is better or Oled..They will say definitely is Qled is best, oled got burn in issue. But when u ask mobile promoter which is better . Will answer you is Oled..ππππ I will definitely not go for Samsung. Let's say if you buy Samsung TV for some reasons, but you don't like the software support, like Disney+ Hotstar not yet available on Samsung TV running Tizen OS, then you could just get a Android TV box/TV stick/Chromecast with Google TV, and it will serve the purpose for you there. Case closed. hisham97nsr and doubleM2 liked this post

QUOTE(MyProLife @ Sep 25 2021, 12:45 PM) Is it confirmed that F1 will air on SPOTV 2 too? Or just rumor / speculation from unverified source or assumptions? Why so nervous? Just wait till the day, then we all will know already. F1 won't run away one, don't worry. This post has been edited by joshhd: Sep 25 2021, 04:46 PM doubleM2 liked this post

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Oct 4 2021, 01:31 AM) For GEM channel, don't forget that pretty much all Japanese TV shows (except anime) are typically shot in 30p or 60i. And GEM channel transmits the channel in 50i Therefore, some frame skipping motion (or like what you described "micro stutter") is to be expected. |

QUOTE(gedebe @ Oct 6 2021, 12:21 AM) QUOTE(willsiva @ Oct 6 2021, 08:57 AM) My Silver STB (which I got when I signed up to Unifi in 2010) stopped working in May 2020. I called 100 and informed Unifi. They said they will come and check. When the technicians came to my house to check the box, they said the Silver box was faulty and they will replace with a new box which was the White box. That was all. I'm sure they still keep some stocks for the white STB, and priority will be given to those Unifi TV Multicast users. |

QUOTE(amirul hafizz @ Oct 6 2021, 09:53 PM) Awww man... π§π© But that "hybrid" could mean either: 1) OTT + IPTV Multicast 2) OTT + Satellite (DVB-S2) TM plans to launch own satellite TV service, to compete with Astro and the upcoming Sirius TV? π€¨ 3) The current Unifi Plus Box only works in OTT mode, isn't it? (I assume it is technically known as Unicast, similar like Astro's Plug & Play) Maybe TM wants to provide support for the IPTV Multicast on its upcoming box model, on top of OTT mode? And that's why it is called "hybrid"? π€ Still, I'm not sure if TM intends to abandon its IPTV Multicast service and just go focus with its OTT mode or what..... After all, the fibre infra is theirs... QUOTE(Qash-M @ Oct 6 2021, 11:44 PM) But if the upcoming so-called "Hybrid" box would allow users to watch the channels via IPTV Multicast (the one that uses VLAN), would you still want that white box? |

I don't think Astro ever plans to allow users to install whatever Android apps they want on its boxes. It is likely that soon, those streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar all those, will come as a pre-installed on the Astro Ulti / Ultra Box, and I don't think Astro would allow users to uninstall it π€£ |

QUOTE(aniq8676 @ Oct 7 2021, 12:44 AM) isn't unifi tv already has an OTT mode that has been used on Hypptv for Streamyx since 2013? while Hypptv for Unifi uses IPTV mode Hmm yea, you can change the settings between "Streamyx" or "Unifi" at the Settings there for the white box.But is that option available for the current Unifi Plus Box? |

QUOTE(jusbella @ Oct 7 2021, 09:49 PM) Sooka or Astro OTG is same live stream? Will there be any delay for 25-40 second compared to satellite based? Astro does not offers low latency streaming, or ultra low latency streaming when watching live TV channels on either Sooka or Astro Go.EPL on Astro OTG always delay too much compared to satellite. The average 30 seconds live streaming latency is consider "normal" to them. If streaming latency (delay) is your main concern, yet the sports content that you're anticipating aren't available on Unifi TV, then you'll just have to go for the satellite version of Astro then. If you don't like monthly commitment (or contracts) on Astro, you can consider using NJOI and subscribe to the Sports Mega pack pass for RM65/30days. |

But if it's the Unifi TV version that doesn't need VLAN 600 one (Unicast), the picture quality looks rubbish especially during fast moving scenes, and the video frame rate is 25fps instead of 50fps (50i). But you know la, if it's Unicast, the higher the bitrate, the higher the bandwidth cost they need to bear for the CDN servers. John42 liked this post
