Tx3 mini users.. i guess i know now why some tv blank when launching aotg.. high chance due to hdcp.. some tv have, some dont have.. new aotg do implement hdcp for output device blocking if i am not mistaken.. cheapest way to solve is buying cheap hdmi cable splitters
*
Good observation and adding new information to the knowledge pool.

When connected to a TV, perhaps one can bring up the DRMinfo to check if it detects there is HDCP.

Have you done periodic maintenance using sd maid to clean the boxes and cache?
*
In additional, it is also possible that some ad/spam apk infected your tvbox. Maybe check through your box to see if there are suspicious apps running.

Is not about L1 but rather for those who preferred different UI and perhaps more efficient firmware with a cheap box..

Came across this recently

*
This ROM will be a good platform to test AstroGo, to check if AstroGo stuttered live HD video is due to ROM, hardware, or L1.

This TX3 is quite interesting really, for that price and such specs, quite a bang for buck. But I have heard that Android 9 has been problematic, quite many vendors in Low Yat are not selling tv box with Android 9 and is still using Android 7.1. I might be wrong though.
*
Problematic or not, depends on what applications you want to run.

They maybe correct to say Android 9 is problematic for the older and established applications which they want to run. But as far as AstroGo is concerned, it likes newer Android version. Certain android 7 or 7.1 have older webview objects and is problematic for AstroGo.

not sure whats the difference in terms of application installed by local (as per above) compare with linglang. price linglang wins, but how about support ?

These box manufacturers in China they do very little engineering. The tx3 s905x3 is probably a new board made by Amlogic, so not only tanix will get to have it, many other people will also get to have it :-

Look at this :-

https://shopee.com.my/Newest-T95-MAX-Plus-A...6005.7502829969

Practical it is the same as tx3 s905x3.

There are now several....h96, a95x....even beelink gt1 mini2 has this s905x3.

Like s912, s905w and now s922....found in many boxes too.

Question is which has better firmware, ui, heat management, wifi...
*
No, I mean to say the box manufacturers are given much more than just a SOC to work on, they are given the same reference board to manufacture ! So I think their similarity will go down to more than SOC. Firmware-wise, they would also be given the same base, and they just tweak the logo here and there .....

hard to tell, bro...

at this time, i wud think the best bet is the one available at gearbest.

the rest... those with "TX3"... likely OEM's, not from Tanix.

so, i wait a bit, see what other info comes out....
*
What is the difference between Tanix and OEM ? Isn't Tanix is one of the many OEMs ?

Different OEMs add different amount of value into their work.

I don't think there is another layer between Tanix and OEM. Tanix got their reference board design from Amlogic, and perhaps make some mods on it, and then manufacture them. Just like Beelink, Ugoos, Mecool and so on.

I don't think Tanix name is so famous until people want to fake products under their name.

This post is created in 2017, it says about the reference boards available during that time :-

Reference board is one thing, the final product is another matter.
There is the issue of component quality (apart from the Amlogic chip), manufacturing quality etc...

Reviews online say the Tanix products are reliable and well made.
But I'll bet most here (if not all) are getting generic TX3s
(Hands up those who got Tanix branded boxes)

PS. I got my eye on the new S905X3 Tanix/TX3 box
*
How do you differentiate a generic TX3s from Tanix branded boxes ? ohmy.gif

There is no proof that those so called "generic TX3" boxes are not made by Tanix. What it leads to is then just confirmation bias which says good quality product are made by Tanix, while bad quality products made of people who fake Tanix products.

By the name "Tanix" or TX3 on the tv box and the "Tanix" brand on the packing box.

*
I think that's like a matter of different batches of production, or a production meant for a particular OEM reseller for a particular config of ram/storage/preloaded apps.

I would still maintain Tanix isn't a famous brand which people want to fake.

Your are the only one who use the word FAKE. biggrin.gif

Not fake la.... just oem.
*
Oem ? The meaning of OEM means the reseller buy significant number of units and thus the manufacturer handles production of the units and then finally stick in the label for the OEM customers.

If Tanix handles the reseller customers meaning Tanix is still the manufacturer, the quality is still based on the quality of Tanix.

Fake/spoof - the meaning of fake means another manufacturer ( which is not Tanix ) produces boxes but stick in the label of Tanix, and thus the quality is not the quality of Tanix.

So this is OEM or fake/spoof ?

Yeah I know that. Have to unplug lan to use wifi and test with both connection. But I want to know if the speed is normal to get only 25Mbps. I use unifi 100 Mbps and I have no problem getting that speed with my phone.
*
Quite terrible to have that speed if you tested it on LAN cable. If it is 5GHz, then it could be due to too far from the router or blocked by too many walls.

Mine has 5Ghz. And bluetooth too. TX3 Mini-A from Shopee seller 3aonline.

So did you test the LAN speed or the 5GHz speed of your box ? What did you managed to achieve ?

Mine one also same if use wifi. Ethernet better.
Either antenna or firmware issue.
*
The TX3 has no external antenna, so it is quite possible the built in antenna has poor reception as you cannot orient it to optimize reception signal. So TX3 wifi whether it's 5G or 2.4G, it is going to be quite hopeless.

LAN it is based on 100BaseT, transfer speed should be closed to 100 Mbps. Getting 25 mbps from LAN cable is unacceptable. It should be 50 Mbps or more. Maybe change the cable. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

I just want to know if it is normal to get that speed for this box or any other setting that I might need to use. Not discussing about "WIFI-router sucks"... etc... so it is not really pointless.
*
Yeah agree with you, and quite surprisingly many users here are always willing to admit they are TX3 owners, but very few willing to tell you what internet speed they are getting from the box.

Sounds like they have never tested the speed of the box, particularly from the wifi ( including 5G). Many tvboxes have very poor wifi performance.

I am using 100mbps unifi, when using wifi it can reach 30mbps max.
When using ethernet, the value is double.
*
For the purpose of AstroGo and even 4k youtube streaming, 30 mbps is already adequate, if the 30mbps is consistent.

Any recommendations for a better remote?

A typical wireless wifi mouse is my recommendation. Preferably it should have a power on/power off button to stop battery drain, as we only use it occasionally.
