just bought a tx3 mini few days ago to replace my ras pi2 as pi2 cant play h265 codec

some comments are:
1) the player like mx player or default player are totally useless (always no sound), just download and use vlc
2) youtube 4k 60fps seems having issue to play continuously, always video pause like every 5 minutes, need manual click to continue
3) astro go.. same as above many people had encountered, redirect back to login page

is the default player a customized KODI?

if yes, it shud work.

u can also remove it, reinstall the official Kodi.

for me, it works very well, can even get DDtruehd/DTShdma with AVR.

mx and vlc can be tricky on this box.

Did u managed to watch astro using this latest version?
I already installed this into my new tx3 s905x3 but unfortunately unable to play astro. Got rejected during login attempt. Please advise

go back 1-2 pages... i have said it is working fine.

May l know your primary astro service using decoder or ultra box? My house using astro ultra box, however l also can't log into astrogo.

For MX Player, did you download the Custom Codec?

had read somewhere says mx do not have some codec but lazy to find and download as vlc can play my files directly

You need to download the custom codec. A simple google search will point you to the right direction. Don't even need to install the file, just enable it from MX player Custom codec.

Mine as well...Does not work and even tried the webview also does not work. It will kick out in login...

The latest I heard is that, the guide works 100% if done correctly provided the restrictions mentioned is adhered.

Meaning , box must be rooted or has root switch like Tx3 mini or Tx3 S905X3 for this to work.

I have read of users not knowing where root switch is or if their box is rooted or not. Other cases of lack of ES Explorer app know how makes it frustrating to guide newbies. It can be overwhelming when there are version 1.xx ,version 3.xx and ver4.00 , all with different UI of ES Explorer.

If you are using Tx6 or any other boxes which has already being UNROOTED before, then the most convenient and viable option is to flash back original ROM. The guide mentioned clearly it is only for Tx3 and Tx6 with Root Access. The fix is merely to update the original Webview with Bromite webview ontop of it. The Bromite file won't install without the original Webview presence. Don't go uninstalling the original Webview if you are not sure. At most just disable it for other types of boxes.

Here is an update of the guide by Mr.Alan. Extra precautions for Tx3 S905X3 installation. Again, remember to install the APK. Another issue commonly faced is ES Explorer Root access unavailable even after root switch setting is Opened. Do a restart and it should be fine.

There is no such thing.

tx3mini/max or s905x3 on 2.4ghz is actually ok for most purposes, incl astrogo for <50ft if your base speed is high.

It is not as good as the more costly ones with external antenna, of course.

Back then when Tx3 is mentioned, it was referring to Tx3mini with only its 2.4GHz WiFi.

Nowadays, we have Tx3mini and also Tx3 S905X3 both of them with dual WiFi 2.4 and 5GHz capability.

Is it better to go with tx6s with H616 cpu and android 10 ?

I am unable to offer any comparison, as I don't own a Tx6s. The best people to ask this are the sellers themselves, as they would have tested them and obtain feedback from previous customers on their performances.

Primarily the reason why these three are popular is because of their astro gol compatibility previously, large following and support

I can see why the Android 10 can be a factor in which box to purchase. Sincerely, I can't offer any opinion.

and a lot more on facebook advertisement posts.
These boxes or IPTV are totally different kind of beasts altogether.

compare the performance, both almost same,
but Android 8 better then 10.
tx6 2gb performance better the tx6s 2gb

This workaround is possible. Not sure for how long. enjoy while it last.

Hi. Im in dilemma choosing my first android box. I read that android box does not need big disk space and ram capacity but the android version is important. Tx3 has a good reputation but its using old ver android while tx6 use android 10. And tx6 have heating issue while tx3 doesnt.

I plan to get tx3 and i saw there is guide to upgrade the box to android 9 but wanna know the drawbacks. Anyone here done this before?

typically, tx3 s905x3 comes with android 9.
