I recently bought a Tx3 after reading that it can run Unifi TV but I kept getting error 414590 Failed to play the content. I have tried various versions from sideloading older versions to downloading the latest versions from Play Store and Aptoide.

Every time I launch the app, I get a warning that my device is rooted and it may be highly risky although I have already 'unrooted' at the root switch.

Anything I am doing wrong here?

Just get from google playstore, auto updates, works fine.

Astrogo official app works fine too.

Both need not do anything special.
But gven all the troubles reported, i start to suspect obstacles may be due to ISP or router.

I am using unifi, asus router.

Same question as above, which app you are using? - The mobile version(fireball icon) or the Android TV version?
And what version number.

Latest I read is that have to use the Legacy mod Android TV apk for Tx3/Tx6.

As for the app detecting device rooted, even though you have switch off Super User - it could be the new version has implemented a permanent error flag, every time root is detected when running in the background. This is the case for the previous Unifi PlayTV app. The solution is to keep Super User setting off, and never turn it back on. Otherwise you have to clear cache, clear data, and re-login again. Try and let us know.

I encountered another error previously with this version but now I am not allowed to open it after installing.

The root switch is always off.
I asked the seller about the root warning and he just told me to ignore it.

those 1.2.x are for ATV or AndroidTV.

tx3 is regular android, can use only 1.3.x.

your problem with unifitv (and maybe astrogo) has been known for months... but no one can fully explain why some work, some don't.

solution... read a bit more... i don't know since i don't need it but something about "changing webview"...?

According to the modder, only these 2 ATV version MIGHT WORK, or they might not work for Tx3/Tx6. Good Luck.

Hi guys, got my TX3 couple of days ago. I am trying to watch US Netflix using Express VPN but it seems like its still showing Malaysia Netflix even when the vpn is connected. I am using Los Angeles server.

Try this...Exit Netflix... Kill the app or reboot...Switch servers and try again.

Finally managed to get through US Netflix. The issue was the Netflix version. I was using the Netflix for Android TV and now installed with Android mobile version at it is working.

However another issue I’m facing now is, everytime I try to connect my ExpressVPN, the Internet connection will be killed/lost. Only temp fix Im doing now is to reconnect the Cat6 cable while ExpressVPN is trying to connect. Any permanent fix for this? This temp fix is okay for me (experimental) but won’t be a friendly fix for others in the house. I’m using the TX3 by the way. Anyone having this problem?

Weird, although it’s normal for slight disconnection to happen while the vpn connection is being established.. You are switching servers and encryption kicks in after all... When it’s killed or lost, is it the words “Ethernet not connected shown? What happens when you try browsing after ExpressVPN is done connected? Also, does this happen on WiFi as well? I ask cuz I’ve had a different box that shows that message (unrelated to ExpressVPN) but it’s still able to browse internet stuff. Toggling WiFi status on/off tends to resolve it.

Yes sir, “Internet connection lost. VPN will reconnect when available”. I am connecting the box via Ethernet with WIFI disabled. Should I enable both?

After VPN connected, I am able to browse the net.

And the seller I mentioned is not selling Tanix brand of Tx3, but OEM Tx3, or what the industry calls as OTT boxes.
However, unlike others who only provides 3 months or 6 months warranty period, this seller's product has 1 year warranty and every box comes with serial number label.

A way to differentiate Tanix Tx3 and Tx3, is the word Tanix on the box.

Tanix has their own Home Launcher page design they called Alice UI. It is just a fancy lean back launcher like Nova Launcher etc...
Tx3 has a more traditional home launcher, but more importantly it has a "Pull down status bar", and "Pull up navigation bar" if a mouse or airmouse or wireless keyboard with touchpad is used.

From my understanding, Tx3 can be flash with other ROMS, including Tanix Alice UI or Android TV experience ROM. As posted earlier, I too agree all the hardware design of Tx3 is the same only difference is the ROM and kernel different manufacturer install into the box.

Don't think there is any Intellectual Property Rights to this Tx3 boxes and definitely not enforced in China. So no reason to reinvent the wheel, might as well just copy the hardware blueprint and mass manufacture from different manufacturer. That is when quality of the electronic components come to question.
If the box sellers cannot differentiate AAA grade boxes from lower grade boxes, the eventual losers will be overseas buyers. That is why it is critical to buy these from Specialist Box sellers be it local or overseas.  Don't always go for the cheapest of the cheapest, always check the previous customers comments and seller product history.
