Go search for food that can be consume by toddler 6-12mth. And eat that natural ingredient. Feed the preggy as in feed the baby. Of coz is solid, not those liquid for toothless baby, don't make your wife vomit.

I ate alot following:
- potato
- tomato
- carrot
- spinach
- chicken
- pork
- fish (variety but make sure low in mercury)
- 1 orange daily (I have friends avoid orange to avoid cough.. not sure why)
- measure water intake (make sure consume enough)
- red bean water (every few days during final trimester if have swollen feet)

I avoid:
- coffee, tea (all sorts include chinese tea & chinese herba tea)
- sugar (bring own plain water when eat out. Because if you order drink without sugar, am sure you feel like save it. Plain water taste better)

Throughout my pregnancy, I have 11kg weight gain. After I deliver, my boy at solid 4kg and I was only 1kg heavier than my original before pregnancy weight.

Not sure if that is because of the "baby food ingredient" that I consume during pregnancy.

Congratulation ryukeong.

She got to eat balance diet, try to avoid fried, oily, processed food, cold n etc....

consume enough of fluid. Do not eat a lot or over on anything that ppl said is good, everything moderately will do, she need all sorts of nutrients and minerals thru healthy food n fruits.

Fetus dun really consume from mummy's food so no need to eat extra more for your fetus, more of mummy's craving for food she wanted to eat, due to hormonal changes it varies from one and another. So if mummy r healthy, fetus also healthy.

good luck and all the best

Thanks for the advise.

My wife appetite changes a lot, that’s why I see any good recipes so can have lots of choices for her. Now I use olive oil when making food for her.

U r most welcome

Please read the label menu properly for the temperature of the olive oil, not all can be use to cook, some are meant for salad dressing only.

Due to most of our salmon selling here in malaysia r farm type, not the wild type, some said contaminated with parasites n some said ok to consume,
so up to individual.

here are the information that i searched last time
Good oil
Monounsaturated fats are found in olive, canola, and peanut oils, as well as in olives, avocados, nuts, and nut butters. They're considered "good" fats because they're best at lowering cholesterol.

Polyunsaturated fats are beneficial too. They contain omega-3 fatty acids, like DHA and ALA (both of which are crucial for your baby's healthy development), and omega-6 fatty acids. Omega-3s are found in some cold-water fish, flax seed oil, walnuts, and canola oil, and omega-6s are found in sunflower, cottonseed, corn, and soybean oils. (Soybean oil, found in many salad dressings and processed foods, also contains some omega-3s.)

Goals for healthy pregnancy eating
Fish can be an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, and pregnant women are encouraged to eat 8 to 12 ounces of seafood per week. But some types of fish contain contaminants such as mercury. Choose seafood high in DHA and low in mercury, such as salmon, anchovies, sardines, and herring.

Hey Ryukeong, firstly congratulations on your first born!

I am going through a similar situation as you (my first born too, first trimester) and I found these foods help:

Dairy Products. During pregnancy, you need to consume extra protein and calcium to meet the needs of the growing fetus
Legumes
Sweet Potatoes
Dark, Leafy Greens
Lean Meat
Fish Liver Oil

I also realise that if your wife eats every 3-4 hours a day, the vomiting feeling will be heavily minimised. So make sure she takes in food in those times and she'll feel much better!

Good luck and Take Care

Congrats to u too Tim!

My appetite of my wife changes a lot, problem is same type of food she can’t consume more than 3 times, so those food that is good like eggs, broccoli, salmon, sweet potatoes she doesn’t eat already. So hard to get food that suit her daily. Luckily fruits, water, vegetables she does takes a lot, plus now is taking fish oil and folid acid.

Thanks very much for the advise

Good luck to you too
