Yesterday I got 7km ride at evening peanut jam which had the fare of Rm50 with Rm30 boost. I believe most of the 6 seater drivers declined the ride. I took it because I believe I can beat it by cutting corners - legally -by completing the trip within half an hour with luck on my side. Heck, it said the pick up time is about 18 minutes where I at the PUP within 8 minutes.

The riders were so impressed that they asked me for my phone number to pick them up today which is Friday evening peanut popcorn hours. If I am around in the vicinity.... janji....boleh.....

After dropping them. got another ride for RM50 fare for 11km ride but without any blardy boost where the pickup point is 5 km away via LDP. Sumore it was the last call within minutes to 8pm where all the boost fuel incentive would be gone anyway. Thought of cancel but what the heck, it was a juicy peanut pie.

I Stop Look Go where I checked with Goggle Map where it said it should takes about 20 minutes to Center City destination since the Kueh Kacang would be sold out on the way there.....

I am just driving for fun but got a number of regular riders from my place who are up close and personal friends of mine and wifey. After all, my wifey is in real estate from MK to DPC with many expats going in and out of MY country. And a fair number riders from Uber experiences.

Been going uphill to Genting or up north to my Ipoh hometown and pearls of the Orient. So the question remains , boleh bawa kawan kawan peribadi to airport or Ipoh jalan jalan cari makan? I believe if it is caught in the act or entrapment of pickup riders by the enforcement, then it would be a saman issue. Otherwise it would be a Jamban issue.. There is no law and order broken to take someone you know in your car or taxi to the best of my knowledge.

I went to airport this morning taking my up close and personal friend, But I went back straight home .......

Airport is one of those places you wanna to avoid in case of operasi by JPJ or SOCSO which have had declared in the press they would go undercover to nab ehailing drivers without permit and without membership contribution. EPF akan datang with LHDN besok lusa.

U miss time is money where it cost a fair bit to to do errands like PSV and Puspakom .

Other misses are phone charges to run the Grab application or phones to replace it.

No quality time for the family or girlfriends. Heck you dun have the time to exercise your butts if you drive long to average your cost of driving.

If you have an accident where you are forced to have holidays because your car is in the workshop.

No sick medical coverage provide being a Grab contractor. You have to cough out medical fees if you have cold and flu.

No EPF with extra contribution from your employer , medical or annual leaves if you are full time Grabber .

Nightmares when and if you are given a BANana desert.

You are lucky to stay alive. some didn't. probably you heard about the sleeping deaths where there was one last month in the car Most of these are obviously heart failure due to deep vein thrombosis due to long hours od driving where it cause the blood clot in the heart.. If it clot somewhere in the brain you be struck with stroke

So the question is for those lembu drivers, whatever you are earning as full time, is it enough to cover the amortization of your car value minus all the repairs and replacement cost ? If your car can withstand those kilometrico, can your own body last by sitting down for more than 12 hours a day? Your health cost can be the most expensive affair when you are down and out with stroke or heart bypass.

Once I met a Grabber who bragged that he grabbed about Rm500 per day by driving in the morning peak hours and evening rush hours. Then I asked him how much did he had in his bank account. He couldn't answer me .......because he couldn't pay for his dad every time we go out for breakfast, lunch dinner or supper. And his car installment is not even up to date. . BTW, his dad was so blardy upset his son gave up RM6000 corporate job to be a driver.


I have relatives doing taxi yesteryears and they gave it up long before Uber came to into the picture. The vicious cycle of changing the car with its cost to maintain it from tyres to breakpads, the drivers remain cashless after years of struggles. Most started young being the taxi drivers do not have much to rely on when they retire. And the stories get worse these days as I get the same old stories when I am at the NGV pump gas stations having small talk with the fellas while waiting for top up.

The guys here at the forum are just trying to paint the picture with its ugly truth about reality of gig economy. And they took the time to share it including yours truly. This kind of gig is for part time basis to earn extra dough or temporary income if unemployed. Or those who wish to have some fun getting paid with free company of pussy cats dolls particularly of folks like me where I am awarded with 350 compliments and countless extra comments. And my riders thinks I am handsome since I got about 80 great personality topping the chart of all the compliments.

My ex medical colleague drove his daughter for studies in Downunder from Ipoh to KLIA. However he decided to checked into Subang hotel as he was having giddiness. It is my habitual observation and I noticed most taxi drivers would walk a couple of minutes to the Jamban to ease themselves. Upon refueling the NGV gas, they would drive on. It is a different cerita for me, I would open my car hood up and clean my cars exterior and interior. The NGV is advisable to be cool down otherwise, it would cause Mass Destruction to the other parts of the engine including fans and compressor just like DVT. Often fellow taxi drivers would asked if anything wrong with the car and I would cook them the healthy stories from the car potential problems to relate to their bodies as in DVT. Got to stay alive with intervals. Otherwise the car would be broken down or your body would break.

In fact, I just got another active puppy to be the company of my other active doggie. with the Doberman puppy to play with my Schnauzer doggie, I got to walk them to pee and poo in the park which is extra workout now. Good doggies would not want to shit in their own garden and I got to walk them. Actually it is for my healthy state. Doggies are the men best friend to stay alive.

What is important how much you Grab as a driver .......but how much is the leftover for bacon and eggs or BKT....

When I was driving Honda HRV in my Uber days.......the repair works alone from Honda cost over Rm30,000.00 . Luckily it was under warranty. Wear and tear from brake pads, tyres replacement to punctures not taken into account yet. so are the other costing from petrol and regular servicing.

Now driving Exora NGV , jimat banyak. 1 full tank I can go fly airport with return ticket home base at Rm10 aje.

Dats Y you look at those taxi fellas, 99% use Gas. Some even use double tongs where they dun have to go refueling often.

It makes ringgit and sense to invest NGV kits where you can save in the long run grabbing riders. Fueling is the top expense when you drive often in great distance. The other setback of NGV, it will nullify your car warranty and needs tender loving care where it will not blow up the engine and other components like fans and air cond compressor to hose piping and radiator.

Anyway, don't be envy ......or cry.......not good for your health and mental stage being stressed up. And I dun mean to show off the power of NGV. it is just that they are using the NGV for a good reason. Private cars you go from A to B or just C. But taxi or Grab you start from A to PQR and XYZ. So the ugly truth s if you are using petrol 95 to grab riders, it just doesn't sound economical to cover the mileage especially in the peanut jam where it really suck the fuel like Ah Long.

There quite a number of Grabbers using Exora Turbo and CPS where they are really sucking petroleum. A full tank fill to the brim got me
less than 500km with distance of 4 KLIA trips to DPC home base. The petrol is about Rmm110 while NGV, it takes in about Rm50 of fuel . I would cry if I drive with just petrol. Dats why I always afford to leave airport with empty car back to home base.

Most of all, I can hop with joy because at the price lower than Bezza where I got my Exora NGV second hand at 30K which I drive in comfort with higher pricing of 6 seaters and dun have grab share option. Pelik tapi benar, many times I get 1 to 2 pax requesting for 6 seaters. Today, I got 50% where I got full 6 persons in 6 trips. clap:

I dun mind to rock and roll with short trips too because I will get at least Rm12 for 1 to 5 km rides. And the angpow time boost is higher too when I get lucky to have it from Grab Packet

Semalam hujan lebat with peanut jam at 830pm kena a 3km pick up job worth Rm60 with pickup time of 50 miutes .


Would the driver accept the job? Not me......and the rider cancel it too.

From PJ to PJ under 8km ride took 1 jam to complete at 7pm . High fare of Rm35 but no boost at that peak hour .

NGV is dirt cheap.....dat's why taxi fellas are using .....exora and not bezza. yeah, I would boast how cheap it is. from my experience where it is a fact which figures showed.with ringgit and sense.

As for maintenance, it was hassle free for me with reliable workshop. I just buy the spare parts needed and charged with labour cost. The replacement part is it was a 5 year old horse power when I got it......so got to change. All in , the changes comes to less than 1k from air cond compressor , radiator fans, air cond fans, It is just that to change the oil regularly.
Honda from personal experience not advisable from personal experience. If spare parts needed to be changed , it can be pretty expensive. My honda HRV was over Rm35,000 where luckily it was on warranty. Changed too Exora NGV because Honda warranty over with 150k. Not because of Uber but because been using it to balik kampung and cari cari makan from the north to south. sumore wnet to the east coast makan angin too. after Uber, got the Exora to grab riders.

Pelik tapi benar, the cost of using Exora NGV is low considering I spent less than 1 K to grab riders. Just added for wear and tear for break pads and spare tyres which is another 1 K. Many trips to GH and KLIA to balik kampung IPOH. Total expenses is less than 5K after fuel cost of petrol to gas. and serivice to replacement parts in 1 year usage.

High fares from Rm12, it shoot up to Rm21 for short rides within 3 to 5 km

But it comes with no time boost.

Still better than airport where it is just flat at RM105 since I balik rumah without waiting for hours . Just do 5 trips in 2 hours lagi untung.

If I were in your shoes pedals, I would go for MYVI where it's still looks cool and trustworthy OTR zipping round the city drive. Otherwise , go for lookalike MYVI at Iriz. I would surely go for Proton models for his cost to buy and maintain it on the road cost factor. Just look at the taxi fellas and you can figure why.

Bezza is out of the question as it is not comfy for long trips and looks pretty ugly to pick up hotties. Forget about Polo where you might need Panadol therapy with questionable problems from gearbox to turbo. From a German guy who said " Dat's my foot" where VW stands for Very Wounded cars." he owned the VW where it went in and out the workshops with many defects with many infected germs with many months intervals. He swore he would only buy BMW , MERZ or AUDI where it is germs free.

From a Mean Olde Chef who owned continentals French Fries, Safety Sweetener, MY Sagas, Japanese Toycar to Nissan, and many Horny Honda models who can cook many fried and panned stories where I used to travel states to states from corporate days with Sweden safety car. Heck, I even traveled 200km to see impressed my ex girlfriend in my Prelude on weekends till she married me in Las Vegas. Just looking to buy Corvette if and when I strike the Lotto Mega Jackpot there with MY American dream to grab some tall young blond pussy cat dolls there as Uberman.
