I had a Grab rider who was ex Grabber where he took into every sens and ringgit by recording every costing of petrol to servicing to tips from 10 sens to 10 ringgit in 1 year and other costs like phone and billing charges. He gave up after that to become a private driver to fetch a school children to school and activities which takes 1 to 2 hours of driving in 6 hours duty in hsi Datuk car. Sumore, it is normally 5 days job. His earning is sama rata by grabbing riders. And The Malay chap makes extra by selling burgers tiap tiap malam where he untung Rm100.

Buying a new car and selling it later always rugi and selling ex grab car sure kena teruk with beruk pricing.

Finally, think about medical risks with health issues for that kind of long stressful hours of sitting and driving. Berbaloi tak?

Just for the record, I used to drive for fun and charity fund with my Honda HRV as Uberman. The cost of replacement from alternator , gear box and suspension comes to RM35K in just a year. Luckily it comes with warranty coverage. But the helpful service manager said that's it......where I am not using it to grab riders anymore. Now grabbing riders with Exora NGV whenever my mood takes me. It is fun to drive without all the stress to grab riders where I have to worry to maintain my car which goes kilometrico. I just have to worry about road bumps to avoid tyres punctures and service it with synthetic engine oil for the extra mileage.

Still in MY Klang Valley. My son decided on to go after his SPM. Meanwhile still grabbing riders here before flying there next year to be Uberman.

Desperate people are often being abused unless you get good employer. And driving under stress is not fun. I get cancellation fee after 5 minutes when the riders just couldnt care less after more than 5 minutes taking thier sweet excuse for saying "I am in the lift", 'wait for me" ...... with 25KM trip. while I dun mind waiting for a rider which actually pengsan by waiting for more than 10 minutes and helped to carry her to the clinic for treatment. The trip is just Rm6 but I think it is priceless.

IMHO, if you try harder to get a job, there would be better opportunities in life than be a taxi driver since you are a graduate. Moreover, your written English is decent enough and better than many MY graduates. As long as you possess good attitude and passion, you should be all right. Just stay positive and try not be desperate. People dun buy your story if you are desperate but would buy if you can give them that extra value of your service or products. I had hired even mentally challenged worker where he is considered one of the the best employee in my history while I have fired MBA students who couldnt perform better than my Pinay in terms of spoken skills and servicing professionalism attitude. After I close my kitchen, she was good enuf to be hired in 5 stars hotels though she is just a high school student. Was in that similar situation before where I ferried An Indon. Send him to the designation but his friend did not answered the phone. And the house is not his friend place. I am never sorry for all the rides that I had cancelled......even for the long distance or high 5 fare. These riders dun deserve my attention and my ability to drive them safe and sound to thier designations.

Unless it is a no waiting zone in the shopping mall or so, I would cancel and move on after 5 minutes of no show. These jokers would ignore my messages sent and would only after 4 minutes to 7 sound of silence with stupid excuses i.e. I will be there in 1 minute to I am stuck in the lift or wait for a few more minutes and blah blah blah....If there is parking under shade as in some of the condo, I might even wait till 10 minutes to cancel to see the prima donna in multi media colors from green to red faces watching my car been driven away.......... At least I am doing the favor for the next available driver to pick them up right at the spot where they suppose to be.

Very few of them would be like my kiddies watching where the drivers are from thier grab apps and would be waiting at the PUP awaiting for the drivers to arrive.

IMHO that Singapura Pachik driver was cool in handling the situation. And if it was staged to sabotage Go jek , then both the driver and riders are actor and actress.

In real life e hailing, we come across many unreasonable riders where they would lodge false complaint to make you commit traffic offences by making u turn like that taxi driver at Bangsar where the motorist pillion rider was killed. My experience was worse where the rider asked me asked me to make a u turn near Sunway Mentari intersection to PJ which I refused for that cheapskate rider when I was Uberman. Of course I refused though he said many Uber or Grab drivers did that where it save time and distance to go the side of Carlsberg. In another case, there was this wanna PHD holder from Sunway college asking me to make u turn where I retorted is he responsible for the saman if caught to save a couple of bucks where there is a signage that said "no U turn" I could have killed someone or get banged. Told him I knew Tan Sri Cheah philosophy oi education is to educated enough to be responsibility to society. He is from Ipoh Mali orang tak sombong like me. In Uber days, I get to pursue the case with senior management where they said they would take firm action to give banana to such riders as they agreed with in e hailing platform it is for the drivers and riders reasonable demand and respect.

Just recently a foreigner rider Grabbed me to speed and went into no entry lane. I promptly reported to Grab where this particular Malay staff was competent enough to handle the situation with professional attitude and perfect lingual English. Most of all, these riders would reported you even if you are right to ensure safety rules and compliance of law and order. They may even reported you otherwise....and rated 1 star. Never be Cincai and soft like Cincau jelly to unreasonable riders that put your driving in jeopardy.

I have waited for more than 10 minutes for a Grab ride and personally help to carried a pengsan rider to the nearest clinic with just Rm6 fare by driving with horns and hazzard lights recently. The designation was Klinik and I waited even my message was not being replied. I gave the benefit of doubt. If the designation is to Zouk, different cerita. Or I would have waited till the ladies get into thier cars from the carpark or up safely to the lonely train station at night. Only when they in the train and car, I would drive off after their calls. I do it out of own free will

It is so easy to make monies out of desperate people where you need medical attention or miracle cure. Funeral service easily can take advantage of relatives of deceased. And those who grab to drive for fund also have no choice but to ride on the cow while looking for horse to mount for solid footing.

The problem is many would get stuck with flexible hours of working and do not account of the cost to maintain the cars apart from petrol. I know of taxi drivers that would struggle for decades when it comes to purchase new cars where the vicious cycle would start all over again and again.

Thank God I am lucky to drive for fun and to raise fund. however, I stopped using my HRV after driving it for a year as Uberman. It is because the cost to maintain comes to over 35 thousand ringgit to replace absorbers , suspensions, gear box and alternators where it clocked more than 150000!!! Luckily, it still covered under warranty with the helpful manager. But if I dispose the car, it would cost peanuts with that kind of mileage though it is at sparkling performance with the new replacement parts. And the manager said that's it with the warranty

Now driving around with Exora NGV model. Saves fuel but soon the costing to maintain it. In fact, now got to send for air cond compressor repairs and suspension problems too.

Fortunately, it only cost half the price as I bought it second hand from ex taxi driver friend who gave it up because he kenot cari makan with that kind of stress to grab riders from the apps or street.

Pelik tapi benar, MY drivers must be nuts to fund Grab to replace them with autonomous vehicles. Sort like the old western movies where they are digging thier own graves.

NGV is cleaner fuel than petrol. But the best is electric charge. In MY country, Taxi fellas use it because it is economical to run. Just that it is not getting the gomen support with more designated stations. But why should GRAB kacau these NGV ?

I was lucky that I got this Exora NGV as it fulfilled the requirements economical to run and relative cheap to maintain. Most of all, the spacious spaces from back to the front. Just the right size where it is nippy to park and move around. Most of all, to buy it at 30K which is the best value for that price.

IMHO, Innova is too expensive to buy and maintain it where it is used to grab riders at charity rate. To find these kind of NGV cars, you got to get up close and personal to the taxi fellas who are giving up the taxi career due to dawning industry, unable to cari makan, or unable to pay the car installment.

Getting dash cam for the extra protection and report any suspicious cases of false allegation. Usually when I told the riders off for asking me to break the traffic law and orders, I report it with red faces. It is not surprising that these are Osama sama been lying dawg and dolls who meow with complaints that you are driving dangerously though they are the ones who ask you to speed over the limit , go into no entry lanes just because they are late for thier school or appointment to interview.

It is unfortunate that Grab can take away the partnership or the contract based on hearsay of riders which is without burden of proof and of thier profile of conduct or background check. And without the rating from the drivers, how to ascertain thier profile? As for the drivers, thier profile can be analysed by the system in the Grab apps report, statistic of riders feedback and asking for clarifications from the drivers regarding the allegation accused of misconduct in law and order.

The good news is Ministry of Transport YB Loke is looking into it where the RTD dept would decide whether the drivers are guilty of misconduct and have thier contract revoked with banana.

The latest incident in Singapura clearly reflect what I am talking about......where the cheapskate pussy cat rider meow by commanding the driver like a dog , refused to pay toll and fare and cry foul with kidnap claim. She is actually trying to hold the driver hostage just because she think riders are Queen Bee and she is a wannabe law student. But her meow face is easily recognized in her neighbourhood and law college she is attending because it is all over the multimedia. It is not just matter of not prostituting yourself with riders demanding you like a slave but there goes for the concept of ehailing where the platform is for both drivers and riders. It is about dignity and principles in the rules of engagement.

As for the case, it gets more interesting where the rider is rumoured to be suing the Go Jack driver. For some pussy cat doll who kenot to afford to pay toll, she can afford to sue. What if she being counter sued ? Getting the popcorns and kuaci ready on how any honorable judge gonna to rule in the name of justice.

The managers agreed that such acts is not tolerated by Uber as safe driving experience is the rule of the game for riders and drivers. And once I called up Grab CS and was surprised to get a competent lady who acted professionally to handle the situation where the pussy cat doll was distracting and endangering your truly in his driving by asking to speed , enter into no entry zone and commanding me by touching me. The Grab customer support said she would bring it to her managers to act on the issue where she agreed with my statement on the rules of engagement in law and order. For the record, one illegal u turn by a taxi fella has cost a life lost at Bangsar recently. And that is the price where the riders or drivers cannot afford to pay if they choose to ignore the law and order.

Rm5 job from Pavillion to MRT 500 meters away and Airport job RM65 without boost. What The Fatt is that during peanut jam at 7pm?

Then took job after 30 second pause took a job with boost and demand surge which is Rm33 for 10km ride home.

I can drive to raise fund for charity but not as a charity to the riders or Grab especially for RM5 in the peanut jam at Bukit Binatang without boost. I am just not a Lembu where and when the compensation of a job is unfair. hence , cancellation applied with ABS where I have to drive 1/2 hour for RM5 fare. It is just unfair.

There are times where I might do it as in a case where I picked up a ping at KL Sentral which I took the fare 1 way which the rider needed the ride all the way to Port Dickson at midnight. Or another occasion, I took a medical student because he had to report for hospital duty in Seremban.

But I just rejected a Genting trip with a fare of RM75 without boost because it would be peanut jam on KaraK highway on 1 way back home with toll charges. After all, it is kinda chilly tonite and I just have my t shirt on. Most of all, it would be hot traffic where many would make a beeline from east coast tp come back for work tomorrow after a long holidays. Where is the beef and motivation?

Monetary compensation is the number of my business transaction otherwise I offer free ride or discount to every Ah Fatt, Ahmad or Mat Salleh. Heck, it is not FOC even for those pussy cats dolls who were sit beside me up close and personal showing revealing long legs and thighs.
