QUOTE(stupidbump @ Feb 19 2009, 10:18 PM) Hi there, i intend to sponsor a few kids who need it. Sponsor a childBut i got one question, how do they charge to my credit card? Fill up this form. by Credit Card* (only Visa or MasterCard accepted) *Upon completing this form, you will be asked to download a Credit Card Details Form. Fill up the form and mail/fax it back to us. For security reasons, credit card information is not transmitted via the website, nor is it stored online. My contribution by credit card. They charge on either 10th or 20th of the month. An official receipt will be sent into my mail box every month. After you faxed over the credit card form, you will be receiving the child's picture folder and sponsorship kit through snail mail QUOTE(gmchun83 @ Feb 20 2009, 01:53 AM) Don't just plan. got my package today.
sjz: world vision doesn't give the money directly to the children, but rather pools the contributions...quote: "direct monetary aid would make the child and his family dependant on external aid. Instead, your contribution is pooled together with other sponsors' to implement long-term, community-wide changes that help break the vicious circle of poverty". And the level of English education between the two places is evidently different, so it's not exactly accurate to expect the child to have a level of a child in the reporter's country...according to many other visits from sponsors the situation is quite promising...but then the choice is still yours... |

QUOTE(nightstar @ Feb 27 2009, 10:18 PM) got my package today. They use MOST of the money to complete community based project but not individual based project. The reporter sponsor the child for years, but his sponsored child only get a pen and a jacket. All the rest of the money is being used to do those community based project. I didn't say that world vision is a scam but i would like to clarify that the way they use your money is not to the child's aid directly (in which you got their info every year) but your child's community. The way they make you believe your money is directly to the child you sponsor is quite misleading. But after all, they do help your child's community, they use more than 85% of your money to help those community. |

QUOTE(fense @ Mar 2 2009, 11:45 PM) why after sponsor few year, world vision ask me is that really want to continue.. because of didn't reply letter to the kid... Nope.. they encourage you to write to your sponsor child =) that's all.. they do not want you to see that this is something without commitment which is why they encourage you to communicate with the sponsor child. =)we was a gang of friend, still student, sponsor together, but now all of us damn different life, and busy, really cant gather to write to him.. Will this dis qualify to sponsor him? replying to another question that I've read...The reason it is not tax deductable is because most of the fund goes out of malaysia and only 20% if im not mistaken is used to fund the office in malaysia and for other event purposes. The rule in malaysia to get tax exemption is that 80% or more of the funds stays in malaysia but 80% of world vision malaysia's funds goes out of malaysia to communities of other countries. will you meet your sponsor child. The answer is yes. World Vision malaysia does organise trips to meet your sponsor child. If you are part of CS program, they will inform you through email or through their blog. so do keep an eye on it if you are interested in becoming a CS or u would like to visit your sponsored child =) With regards to the news that is posted. I seriously have no idea that happened.. Mistakes does happened sometimes but rest assured, this is not a scam. =) |
