Poverty is complex. It must be addressed in an integrated and comprehensive manner.

Your simple gift of RM50 per month can help us to find solutions to the myriad of challenges that a child faces growing up in a poor country.

Visit www.worldvision.com.my

p/s: I've sponsored one, from Lebanon. What about you?? icon_question.gif

A noble cause.

They basically will pool all the donor's money to set up community projects for the underprivileged.

When I saw the pics of all those ppl in need, I realised how lucky i am in comparison and how these ppl needed our help and from that moment on, I vowed to help in their cause.

//moved from RWI+merged. yes, it's been posted before in this thread. my Gf is a sponsor. - AsenDURE

I did a search and I am surprised that no one has posted this yet. I am not part of this organization asking for help. I just came across it when my colleague informed me that he has sponsored a child. I am very touched by it so I wonder it Lowyat members would like to play a part to help make the world a better place for those who are more unfortunate than us, too.

I've been looking for this kind of charity organisation for a long time but I haven't found one, or maybe I didn't know how to find it. So yes thank you for finally solving my long time question and since any of us would spend 50 bux for something so petty, why not help someone right?

Thanks for making this awareness up in the thread. smile.gif Cheers.

I'm also sponsoring a child from Thailand.

Does anyone know what to write to the child actually? I try to make my letters more interesting, but apart from dreary topics like 'myself, my family, my friends, my hobbies', I seem to run out of things to talk. Especially when they have restrictions on what to write which I understand, there are times when I want to ask about the child about Thailand but afraid to do so due to political sensitivity etc.

Do any of you send gifts as well? I'm not exactly sure what to send over "that can be shared among other children" as well, other than sweets, etc.
