Grab raises US$300m for fintech arm from investors including HanwhaSINGAPORE (Jan 14): Southeast Asian ride-hailing and food delivery giant Grab said on Thursday it has raised more than $300 million from investors led by South Korea's Hanwha Asset Management Co. Ltd for its fast-growing financial services business. It is the first external funding for Grab's fintech business, which has chalked out ambitious plans in insurance, lending, wealth management and payments. "We are at an inflection point in Southeast Asia, as the pandemic has accelerated the need for digital financial services that help us grow and protect our incomes," Reuben Lai, senior managing director at Grab Financial Group said in a statement. https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/grab...ncluding-hanwha

QUOTE(judehow @ Jan 15 2021, 07:24 PM) I am sad i can not pay my electricity bill in pos Malaysia apps using grab pay they have taken it away anyone know why ? Answer from TNB thread: QUOTE(shawnme @ Jan 15 2021, 12:51 PM) Damn it..Askpos said "suspended temporarily" ..Unsure when/if will be back, "awaiting further notice".. What a loss...it was so much more reliable than Elinking. Furthermore with MCO, can't go to kiosk, which seems like pretty unreliable as well based on comments i've seen here

QUOTE(miong93 @ Jan 19 2021, 01:06 PM) Aside from the points diff, i mean does it worth to earn the points at all? So far what i can see from the reward lists are not that attractive (at least to me). So far the easiest way to earn the points is via food, however grabfood always have higher mark up price which i dont find it justify for the points earned. Or any taikor can share how they utilize the points? Pay with Points is considered cash back even though the redemption is slightly worse than those vouchers redemption but that is considered as direct cash back. QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jan 20 2021, 09:12 PM) Haha 4.76% (+CC cashback) savings not very very attractive. Which makes me don't understand why so excited with the campaign. With revision on LFC, the deal becomes worse. This post has been edited by GrumpyNooby: Jan 20 2021, 09:17 PM

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jan 20 2021, 09:21 PM) RM200 - > RM10 voucher + RM2 CB (LFC 1%) Around 5.7% savings from spending RM210. So better than M2 Amex, Affin Duo Visa, PB QM (very close to PB VS) Compared that too Maybank x Grab card?

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jan 20 2021, 09:28 PM) I don't have Maybank x Grab card. I don't use Grabpay actively. 8x Grab points? Worth 0.625% per point? (ignore 40% rebate) Reloading RM 210 into GrabPay = 1050 points Spending RM 210 from GrabPay = 630 points Total = 1680 points For simplicity, use standard conversion of RM 5 with 800 points , 1680 points = RM 10.50 which gives exact 5% rebate

If you had done the assessment and the path is still worth to venture, just do it especially during the Power Up campaign. This post has been edited by GrumpyNooby: Jan 21 2021, 01:48 PM
