I checked my status today and the message is: your application is in process. So back to the beginning, keeping my fingers crossed. Meanwhile I paid to check my credit score on Ctos and I have a score of 715/850, which shouldn't be bad for a card from PBB.

PB CS called and told me my application for Quantum is not successful as I do not reach the min requirement income... Tried to appeal as I was 2k short from reaching their min req of 36k, they offer to give me gold card instead...

PBB really so strict mehh..

There is reason why its called min. requirement...?
But sometimes even you exceed the min.. they will not approve due to unknown reasons....

Sometimes it's depend the salesperson or staff willing to help you appeal for the sales in order to get commissions.
Feel free to drop others bank too. There are plenty of other bank can apply.

You mean PBB called you and told you your application was not successful and they told you the reason? Did you apply through an agent?
I was thinking if my appeal is still not successful I may want to apply through an agent.

I thought they might have some exception case to those who were close to the min req. My friends who used to work in the bank told me it's possible to approve even your earning is lower than their min req.


Compared quite a number of cards and Quantum would fit my usage the best. Might be getting cimb cb platinum since they called and offer me a few days ago.


Yes. I am surprised that they told me the reason. Die die emphasizing on my earning not reaching min req, so no chance to appeal & wanted to offer me gold card instead. I apply through email.

ask your friends to approve your card, can? just kidding


if an application is reviewed by human, then there will be variation/subjective in assessing the requirements. perhaps there is certain threashold % which will allow it to go thru? perhaps there are other reasons? perhaps income is lower than min req., but there are other areas which the approver deem reasonable? we dont know the exact policies.

statements from your friends may not apply equally to EVERY banks out there. each has their own assessment policies and risk assessment.

even your friend said "posssible to approve". it doesnt guarantee everyone, everytime. each individual is different.
