I put in an application for Quantum Master 2 weeks ago. Last week the status reply was that application was pending documentation. I called to ask what additional documentation were required and I was told there was none pending. Today the status reply said my application has been cancelled. What does that mean? Does it mean my application has been rejected?

Yes I tried call. Have left a call-back message since this afternoon.

I was told that the application has been rejected. But I can appeal so they will take a re-look. Hopefully they will grant approval

The guy I spoke to at PBB says he would put in an appeal for me and that I needed do nothing. At least it wasn't an outright no and you are right, they would not tell you why. Just said it was the management.

I checked my status today and the message is: your application is in process. So back to the beginning, keeping my fingers crossed. Meanwhile I paid to check my credit score on Ctos and I have a score of 715/850, which shouldn't be bad for a card from PBB.

You mean PBB called you and told you your application was not successful and they told you the reason? Did you apply through an agent?
I was thinking if my appeal is still not successful I may want to apply through an agent.

I have CIMB cash rebate card. Used to be good when it's a 5% cash back for online transactions, although capped at RM30.00 a month. But it was removed some time ago. Online transactions earn normal rebate of 0.02% only nowadys.

Anyway if you are offered another PBB card, there's no harm taking it I suppose. After you build a good record with them, you can always reapply for Quantum.

As for me, my status has now been changed to "pending documentation".

Does PBB call or SMS an application success? Or you always have to find out yourself?

I'm applying for Quantum for the 12 months zero % payment for retail spend of RM1,200+. I used to be cash rebate driven in applying for new cards but now think that zero interest should be more beneficial. Right now PBB is giving away luggage set as promo gift for new application.
