Yep, no downside to sign up for RM129/100Mbps plan. Especially if you come from a plan with an STB already provided. Only thing is that you're stuck on another 2 years contract.

Yes, this is what I heard from the CS at TM Point just now when I did my downgrade from RM219 800mbps to RM129 100mbps.  But I dun think that is an issue coz we can choose other package after 2 years or switch to other Telco.

The CS told me the downgrade will take 3-4 days to be effective.  But in reality it takes less than 3-4 hours, can see how efficient Telekom really is. 

EDIT: Just notice the big PINK advert on this page - RM99 for 100mbps, RM139 for 500mbps and RM199 for 1Gbps.  I am quite optimistic TM will at least match this pricing 2 years later.

On the Unifi plan page also, it doesn't say that the 129 price is only for 24 months only also. Only that that it's a 24 month contract.

Obviously this speed is not right for 100M thus your lower download speeds. You will have to troubleshoot your setup, ie network cables, BTU speed, router settings, without wifi,  Windows safe mode etc etc. Unless its a fibre cable issue.
Those who already have a previous STB can still use it. The extra RM30 is actually for Ultimate pack, which comes with STB also.

I do see an improvement in download speeds to US and EU servers which is something that does help since I moved from 100Mbps to 800Mbps.

I wish they had an option to allow downgrade to 300Mbps or 500Mbps and pay below RM200 rather than going all the way down to 100Mbps at RM129.

It's never fun paying more for something than others but I don't see how to get around this for now.

Well that's easy for you to say IF you've got a better offer in terms of upgrade or another ISP provider.. Else.. Nothing.. Example, my place max 30Mbps and TM is refusing to reduce the price accordingly. Yet, they are offering 100Mbps at RM129 for others with fiber connection. Same issue with my other place, maxes out at 10Mbps paying RM129.. Both places, Can't downgrade, can't upgrade, can't get discount.. Within contract, Terminating and reapply does nothing to change the situation. If one does change to the cheaper 30Mbps plan, thst comes with a paltry quota. So you see.. Fxxked!

not true. in my exp, unifi has NEVER capped DL even for torrents.

just u try others ways to do it since it is possible certain apps or sites restrict.

and u gotta be aware how no. of seeds and peers affect DL speed.
again, my exp... no need messing around... just default.

100mbps can get max 12MBps easy. it gets harder as u go up... e.g. 500mbps, dun expect same ease to get 60MBps.

I have BOTH the maxis 30mbps and also the UNIFI line ( transition period waiting for cancellation ) and I tried both today and the problem is the same. Both are sharing the same ONT so when one is down, the other is also the same. As of this writing, service has not been restored. Possible an international cable outage rather than a local problem.

Both lines registered less than 1.0mbps

My experience.

The MAXIS manager told me to apply first. Then wait for them to install. After installation, do the termination on line and wait for the 30 days termination period. Then walk into any TM net office and hand over the router,phones and hyppTV. Don't return the ONT (modem ) cos Maxis is using the same UNIFi modem. Bring the Maxis installation form to show them you are using Maxis now so no need to return the ONT. So far, I have done all that and using Maxis one week already. Waiting for the termination period to end and return the equipments. No sure whether you can request or not but the manager told me he will take care of the last month Unifi bill. Good luck.
