Yes, the guy at TM point told me I would have to renew for 2 years at this RM99 package rate but can upgrade to a higher speed if infrastructure should change and allow it. But when I login to my Unifi account it doesn't state a contract end date so I am unsure.

Unfortunately, TIME doesn't serve my apartment block otherwise I would surely have switched to them like some of you guys did.

I am confused about bandwidth limitations for VDSL. The TM Point guy did say my infrastructure was limited to 30 Mbps but I have been getting 50 Mbps since Nov 2017 on the previous Thank You campaign free upgrade. My Speedtest results do say 50 Mbps as well. I Googled and it says 52 Mbps is achievable on VDSL. There is a VDSL2 which can go up to 100 Mbps. Is the limit in my apartment because of the internal old copper wiring and/or TM's external wiring?
*
The contract date is not shown in the customer portal. The date there is a service date, ie when the service was activated or package modified etc. You have to ask customer service to check on contract date in their system. Call 100 or chat and clarify your contract date.

I think it depends on the infra and copper quality. Mostly users get 30M as max. But some get 50M. Depends on various factors I guess. If your speedtest shows 50M, then that's what you have and the package name in your customer portal should also show 50M.

I have a 800 mbps package + ultimate pack + free calls package for rm159. Can I transfer it to another user?

I’m thinking of moving on to maxis prime as my whole family is maxis line users and it comes with unlimited data plan.
*
Hah... after all that trouble to get your package...

I think account ownership transfer is allowed. Maybe someone here who has done it can explain. But I guess both parties need to go TMPoint for the transfer. I think there is a RM10 transfer fee. Maybe phone number has to be changed as may not be in same exchange. Best you ask customer service for info.

Hi Fellow LYN,

Please give me some advise, I am currently staying on old Apartment with VDSL2 connection. Currently I am paying around Rm 211 for UniFi Advance Plus 50Mbps .

I am sure Turbo upgrade is not applicable for me, so can I stay for 50Mbps but with reduce monthly commitment ?

As I am paying double for lower speed than people of 100Mbps speed.
*
Please read past few pages. A couple of users have posted about getting RM99 50M package.

19Nov2018 (difficult to understand, could be my upgrade unifi near end of October and i transfer ownership around beginning of Nov Deepavali that day)

Unless they correct it, based on the above, there is a good chance that next month will be RM99 500M. This is a billing error as I think your discount was not adjusted. Most likely the Special discount RM70 should be RM10 only. This would make it RM159 500M which is what you were paying before turbo.

Also since you previously had your price adjusted due to complaints and got refund etc, they probably made mistake in adjusting the discount. Instead of reducing your discount, they could have increased it. You can check bills from 2-3 monts ago to see how much discount it was then. Was it also RM210? Or maybe only RM180 / 170? Wil have to wait for next bill to see what happens.

I planned to subcribe to ultimate pack for the hypptv, thinking that i'd just pay the difference between aneka pack (rm30) and ultimate (rm60)..

Currently paying rm179 (300mbps with aneka).. So I thought if I subscribe to ultimate, just add on rm30, so total of rm209.. But no, chatted with the live agent, she said I have to pay rm60, so total rm239/month reason to no more discount given..

She gave me the breakdown = rm179 (internet) + rm30 (aneka) minus rm40 discount.. If take ultimate, back to normal, and no more discount..

Hmmm.. Seldom watch tv, but wanted the ultimate for fox movies and nat geo and all.. But now, just f it.. If it's rm209, I wouldnt mind.. But rm239 just craaaazy..
*
You should try to get your price reduced first as 300M users are paying RM139.

QUOTE(vez @ Dec 22 2018, 03:06 PM)
before turbo i paid RM189 for RYE 100Mbps, i suppose to get 800mbps, but somehow multiple mcmc complaints lead to they refund RM300 for me (for 10 months RM30 ruby pack overcharge) and only upgrade to 500mbps, then i did live chat with them confirm the new turbo 500mbps pricing, they said have to wait next billing cycle... after 2 bills, it become possible RM99  sweat.gif
*
Did you already get your RM300 refund either in previous bill or by cheque? Wonder if the refund is given in increase of discount for now in current bills.

QUOTE(jkst @ Dec 22 2018, 03:40 PM)

The new RM129 100M is not eligible for turbo upgrade.

How do I do this? Mind telling me? Rm139 with hypptv or just the internet?
*
You will have to try to get this from TMPoint. There are users on RM139 30M who got turbo to 300M. There are also users who pay RM159 500M. And many who Pay RM189 / 199 800M. In comparison, your price is high then. Please read back this thread as this pricing difference is mainly what has been discussed for the past 2-3 months.

Added:

BTW, if you don't need the 300M speed, there is the new RM129 100M. If you want Ultimate, its RM159. Includes STD20 voice calls.

Dunno yet. 5 more days to my first bill after the 800mbps upgrade and +30 discount.

Last month was RM159 for RYE100. (299-200+60)
This month Turb800 expecting (299-230+60) or more likely (329-230+60)

*with STD20 and Ultimate
*
Your bill should remain the same at RM159.
Its RM329 - 230 discount +60 Ultimate = RM159

It seems initially 100M users were upgraded to 800M as seen by early posts here. Then sometime after that users only got turbo to 500M instead because supposedly they were paying RM159 (after RM30 pack removed). But recently, users seem to be getting turbo to 800M again, like in your case even though your price is RM159. Just the same inconsistency from TM again.

Those on RM159 800M with Ultimate and STD20 is considered not bad as the new 100M with Ultimate and STD20 is also RM159.

u mean this is good? but the manual connection looks so brittle.
what is the function of FWS? connection it looks more solid with FWS.
*
I think many new installations are like that. They run the fibre from the pole to the house through a hole in the wall straight to the BTU. Maybe its for standard installation. Is yours standard installation? Maybe they only use FWS if the internal side wiring is very long to segment the wiring or something. Or they are trying to save money. Early days all had FWS I think. About a year ago it changed.

Another great analysis. If I've been connecting to the same TM server via different portals of ookla speedtest and speedtest.tm.com.my what could be throttling my connection? This is so freaking weird. I still think I was mistakenly upgraded to the 500mbps plan.
*
Isn't 500M package with 100M upload speed? If you are getting 200M upload, then you are on 800M. Double check your customer portal. Then most likely something else is wrong on your side.

Added:
Troubleshoot as JohnLai said in few post above this.

FYI, I just realised that dirk_diggler actually gets 800M speeds to TM. See post #5101.
I think the issue is not getting the speed to non-TM servers. So its likely not a PC issue, right?

For the time being I'm trying to first solve the 800 vs 500 on TM server ookla speedtest vs speedtest.tm.com.my. Worry bout SG later.
*
Check what IP range you are on. Then try these:

http://58.26.239.30

http://210.187.84.114

Then restart router to get different IP range and try both again to compare.

Just use the one at speedtest.tm.com.my. Access via speedtest.net to TM's Speedtest servers probably rate limited.

TM's Ookla Speedtest servers are all running at TM. They're just using Ookla's software. From what I can tell, there're 2 listed Telekom Malaysia speedtest.net servers with IDs, 10327 & 19466, corresponding to 210.187.84.114 and 58.26.239.30. (same IPs that speedtest.tm.com.my resolves to.)

Who knows, they might even be the same server but it looks to me like 2 different servers. Routes and ECDSA key fingerprint (from SSH) are different. Not 100% conclusive but highly likely.

Anyway I've been using 58.26.239.30 as that is 5 hops from me. 1 less than 210.187.84.114.
*
Yes, those are the 2 IPs I posted earlier. Just use the IPs to run the speedtest. Chances are they are 2 different servers. The speedtest.tm.com.my will resolve to either one of those 2 IPs.

Try with a different IP range. I think sometimes 42.x.x.x has issues for some users.

Have you tried other browsers? Same result? FF, Edge, Chrome...
Also, no internet security applications running, right?
*
And in addition, use Windows Safe Mode with networking and run the speedtests. At least will eliminate some possibilities like anti-virus program etc.

Not sure if you already done this, but did you on and off your BTU after turbo? Did you get a new BTU after turbo? Did you check 1st post on this thread about your BTU model?

the point here is , change package via app or chat or unifi.com.my
they will allow you to downgrade to RM129 package , but equipment not changing unless is faulty.
Engineer come change equipment will charge RM53 , beside that is not all equipment is change.
*
The point is if you want to save RM20 per month, you have the option to switch to the RM129 100M package since you don't mind the 2 year contract renewal. Or you have to make a complaint about your RM149 pricing and try to get it reduced to match the RM129 package.

If you want the new equipment, then you have to take the risk of not getting a port for a while after you terminate your line. If you are ok with that and your priority is to get new equipment, then that's up to you.

The BTU will be replaced free later on if it spoils. The RM129 package does not come with STB, so that won't be replaced anyway. You can always buy a new router if you want.
