hi overclocking sifu's I just got my AM2 rig and 1st attempt to overclock. Is my bios settings o.k?
My rig : AM2 4000+ , Biostar TA690, 1GB Patriot PC6400 -
Stock HSF
Cpu temp idle @39C
Prime95 = so far tested 6 hours o.k.

CPU-Z
core speed =2603
multiplier =10.5
HT Link = 992Mhz
Cpu Vol = 1.312

Memory =Patriot PC6400
Freq = 434Mhz
timing 5-5-5-16-19-2T

1st off all u need to try OC it a bit...get to know ur system....
try OC ur proc 1st with the lowest frequency of RAM...
then try the RAM....

don't mislooked the trfc guys.. loose them..
if u guys still can't get 3ghz.. don't worry.. new proc normaly like that.. after sometime in oc mode.. u can push even higher.. some cpu can't even push higher if just came out from the box.. u need to warm them up first... stress the proc should help...

if u afraid don't try.. sure u'll miss the fun..

pretty crappy ram timings for a patriot ram =/
mine does 925 5-5-5-15-1T @ 1.9v

and btw, dont use half multipliers, it gave me lower oc results compared to when i used non-half multis

yeah...
i encounter that many time....it call burn in...
before this my 3800+ cant go beyond 2.6ghz stable...
but after use it for some time at 2.55ghz....it can go beyond 2.6ghz stable...
and now even at 3.0ghz stable....

looks like same concept as audiophile grade headphone. need to burn in first in order to get the actual performance...
