As for Window Media Connect , do you still need it where Dell already provide Media Direct 3.3.

There is no 100% driver release on Dell Insprion 1X20.Those driver are the effort from users digging one by one and test every working driver.If you really desperate on getting 100% XP driver , you can kindly call dell to provide xp disc or driver download link.

They'll release the driver soon.There's also a way to get the driver.If I am not mistaken , Vostro that provide XP option for thier OS is actually using some same driver as Insprion.Maybe someone that order a Vostro 1500 model able to provide those driver.

actually what is the usage of media direct? i saw it use up 2.5 GB... i jz delete oredi.. n oso the recovery.. ahha.. means i was delete all n repartiotion again.. izzit useful?for media direct..

The media direct is for user who plan to watch DVD and listen to music without starting window XP or Vista.Means you no need to boot into window to listen music/watch dvd.

Did you successfully install window XP ? mind telling us how you did it ?

p/s so far tried a few XP programs on vista... ok lo Vista can run...

one other thing to the rest of the community... u guyz got problem wit ur laptop sound bo?? mine sometimes jerks when playing song or gaming. how ah?? hardware problem ke, software ke or both?? headache la now....

y i can play C&C3 on high setting..but cant play Far Cry even on low setting....why is this happening???cant even play properly on low...isk isk...

Nope , I haven't got my laptop yet.Erm.. actually I haven't tested it yet , not sure whether it's complete or not as I see through the driver , it already pack with some of the most important driver.If you find something missing after you install , just reply and I will check out.
What do you mean 'use the media direct ' ? It's preinstall already and so with the recovery partition except you formated it.You need partition and install the Media Direct first before install window xp.The recovery ....did you back up ? It's just a recovery in case you have problem with your vista.

having sound problem ? did you try other songs ? I am not sure with it , but if the sound still jerk maybe you can call out dell tech to find it out.

Huh.. i don't thing there'll be BSOD.Did you fully format it and install Vista ? When does it appear ?

yup// i delete all d partition n repartition again.. when use my own vista business cd.. it appear blue screen after installing finish when go to the windows at 1st time.. it jz appear less than 1 second.. so i cant c wat it displays..

but when i using the home basic cd from dell.. it can successfully install n play with it..
i think tomoro should call to dell.

mayb d installation cd from dell included some driver specify for the laptop?

since they throw in the Home & Student 2007 , all the pack look cheaper than market price. Unfortunately not many
people appreaciate the value of SOFTware compare to HARDware even though we will directly use/feel/see the
SOFTware.

already select and pay for Office PRO , then cancel it because there is alternative which is FOC but now a bit regret
because at this price this is a chance to legallise my SOFTware. If we can look at the software like 5 years investment maybe it is ok. Headache.

Any comment? have someone arrive at this decision point?

price tag >RM455 is too much 4 me...rather go 4 the one in blue font...

Software investment isn't so affordable for an average Joe/Jane in Malaysia.

I'm using Home & Student 2007 as it's still within my budget. If it's out of my budget, no choice but to go with the alternative one, the ori one doesn't come cheap.
