I wonder by Time provides the DIR-882 router to 1 Gbps customers when the maximum download speed for it is less than 900 Mbps?

This router capable of supporting up to 1Gbps on cable (LAN).

Oh ok, this guide here says up to 800 Mbps only.

Can anyone get speed up to 900+Mbps on the TP Link Archer C1200?

My max speed is 830 Mbps on this C1200.

If you are on the 500 Mbps plan and using the AC-1200 router, what is the maximum speed you can achieve on wired?

If you are on Home Lite and Home Max, how do you check the minutes used or minutes balance?

I finally downgraded from 1 Gbps to 500 Mbps. My reasons:

1. Most of the routers are not able to to achieve 1 Gbps. This includes the AC1200 and DIR882 provided by Time. Even the high end ones like AC5400X can only achieve 920+ Mbps.

2. The 1 Gbps speed is only for download and maximum upload is 500 Mbps.

3. My AC1200 can reach 500 Mbps download and upload on my current 500 Mbps plan. So I am getting what I am paying for.

4. Most new devices on WiFi can only achieve 200 to 400 Mbps max even if you are using the latest and greatest phone or laptop.

5. On 1 Gbps plan, my WiFi on my Note 9 can achieve 300 to 400 Mps max. Now, on my 500 Mbps plan, I am also getting the same speed and I am paying less.

I am aware that some people are able to achieve 1 Gbps download but I think this is just a minority and you need to upgrade your hardware (router).

Therefore my conclusion is that you don't get what you pay for in 1 Gbps.

500 Mbps is a better deal as you get what you pay for lesser price.

Hi all,

Just stumbled across this in Digi website.

DIGI HOME FIBER

I checked few condos in Klang Valley, it's available.
Looks like the coverage now extended to most condos in Klang Valley.

Interestingly, those condos also have Time fiber.

Is Time sharing infrastructure with Digi on its fiber network?

How come Time doesn't show the data consumed in our monthly bill? I understand it is unlimited but just for curiosity to see how much data we consume every month.

I just notice from my TIME account that I have 2 months of outstanding bills not paid.

I have enrolled in Direct Debit from day one in late 2018 and every month payment no issue until April.

I checked my TIME account and notice that I don't have direct debit anymore but my credit card account was charged on 30 March but not reflected in my account.

Anyone has this issue with their direct debit?

Not worth upgrading if upload speed is still 500 Mbps for 2GB plan.

If it cost no more than RM299 for this new 2Gbps plan, may consider. But for RM379 and 500Mbps upload, not worth it.

Can the experts here explain (or guess) why Time doesn't upgrade their upload speed? Infrastructure or hardware limitations?

Yes, they offer symmetrical speed.

Thanks.

Then how come Time can only offer 500 Mbps upload for home users on 1 Gbps plan? 🤔

Anyone here upgraded to 2Gbps? What's the max download speed like? I see a lot more areas have 2Gbps now including my place.
