Enquired with Time on the upgrade to 2Gbps. They said a technician must come to change the router to 2Gbps router with WiFi6.

I said I am already using a router with a 2.5 Gbps port and WiFi6. So, I don't plan to use Time router but they insist must schedule appointment for their technician to come.

I asked can't you just upgrade to 2 Gbps on your side without coming to my house, seems like no. So will not upgrade for time being.

That's because the modem you currently have does not support 2Gbps.

And, their SOP doesn't allow sending you a modem for you to configure yourself. They will send someone to provision the modem into their network.
*
Any idea what modem will they provide for 2Gbps? I guess this 2Gbps modem can also be used for 1Gbps plan if I decide to downgrade in future?

Apart from the 24-mths contract, an upgrade to 2 Gbps, you will need to pay minimum/compulsory upfront for RM 899 for their router even if you have your own 2.5 Gbps router.

TIME says that they will be doing some drilling during installation works. What sort of drilling? Isn't it just to change the modem and router only?

Maxis just announced today that their 2Gbps plan is RM 319 with 1Gbps upload speed. Time's 2 Gbps is RM 379 with only 500 Mbps upload.

Wonder when will Time announce their new pricing (if any)?

In the Self Care Portal now, there is no option for you to downgrade. You have to call Customer Service to downgrade. Previously, you can downgrade your plan in self care portal. (Note : I am no longer on contract and didn't renew)

Many areas in Klang Valley also down. Looks like DNS servers down because my Astro Ultrabox that is connected to LAN cable is working.

Time self service app also down. Customer service line also can't get through.

Major outage?

Many comments and complaints in their Facebook page. Why don't update a post to inform everyone that it is down, at least acknowledge the problem.

Penang, Klang Valley, JB all affected.

I am on the same boat as well, considering Maxis 1Gbps@RM159 promotion.
*
This Maxis 1GB for RM159 with postpaid bundle, is it for the entire 24 mths contract duration?

What's the upload speed for Maxis 1GB plan?

here's to hoping for Time to be more competitive in 2gbps pricing. maxis offers 2gbps for 319 but sadly it's not available in my place
*
I think TIME's priority is not 2 Gbps and they don't care. TIME's price higher than Maxis and slower upload speed of 500 Mbps whereas Maxis 2 Gbps is cheaper and faster upload speed of 1 Gbps.

Anyone contacted TIME to terminate their 1 Gbps (RM 199) to move to Maxis 1 Gbps (RM 159) which is cheaper (packaged with Maxis Mobile) and have TIME counter offer at lower price to stay with TIME?

I've done that and switched to Maxis 1Gbps now.

TIME will not match the price and they only offer me with 6 months fee rebate.

Maxis is still a better deal with the cheaper price and I can get a Zerolution Home device. For my case, it's an Android tablet for just RM1 a month for 24 months.

However, just bear in mind that TIME can deliver the full 1Gbps. Maxis 1Gbps plan is more like 870 - 920Mbps if you're on TM Infra.

Note: TIME will require a 30 days notice for termination
*
I called TIME to terminate my 1 Gbps plan and they came back to match Maxis RM 159 (1 Gbps)

It's a match that spread over 24 months contract. TIME offered me next 6 months for free and start to bill me again at 7th month for RM 199. The 24 months contract will start from the free 1st month.

Actually I have no plans to terminate with TIME but to get this rebate/match, have to inform them to terminate biggrin.gif So, better to re-contract 24 months and have this rebate/match rather than nothing since I have no plans to terminate TIME anyway.

I think the 1 Gbps plan is the only plan that TIME will offer rebate/match because this 1 Gbps plan is the only one that Maxis has a better offer (bundle with Maxis postpaid).
