You access synology via network or via the web apps hosted by synology?

This one because synology app host one….sure no problem.

If you built your own application that require actual IP you will have a difficult time getting high speed. Example is Jellyfin server or a non ds fileserver or remote control a PC purely by IP address.

Ya but their mobile apps like ds video is soo old and not well maintained in apple appstore.

I’m a user of synology too and I do like their products just that they don’t work well with older hardware. And their new hardware is bloody expensive…😝

i mean your synology is probably not old, like mine. I have a 213j. It crawls.

But, out of curiosity can you manage to stream media like 4k hdr on a client such as smart TV?
It is not the same as direct play with a VLC (this one does the rendering on your native client).

Last time I used StarHub 1Gbps plan also symmetric speed. That time sgd39.90 with one year contract. After that, switch to m1 500Mbps plan for sgd29.90. Now 2Gbps is already at this price. 🤪 lucky for anyone to stay in lion city.

But I would say that my experience with 1Gbps vs now at 600Mbps not much difference at all.

Would rather change to 200Mbps by paying the cheapest price at rm99 only soon in another less than 6 months time.

To be fair, the excess bandwidth to anyone likely not going to make any difference unless one really download stuff 24x7 but even 200Mbps speed is decent speed for most especially if the household only has 1 to 2 ppl.

Most people have realised they don't need 600mbps...100mbps works wonders for 95%++ of the population.

How you got Time at RM89 per month?

I won't have mind if they extended the contract at RM89, but after expiry my month fee is RM99. It is bonkers. Hello it is cheaper to retain existing customer, just offer me RM89 and I would have taken it.
Anyways, their loss.
