I also did that HOME FIBRE REGISTRATION but no reply at all.
Guess they (u-mobile) NOT allow to cannibalise their supplier (Times).

How long will this U Home Fibre Launch Promo be available for?

"TIME Fibre Home always puts you as our priority and we'd like to hear you out to serve you better.

Help us out by clicking on the link below to answer a short survey.

We appreciate your time and feedback.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
TIME"

I did the survey and told TIME that their 100Mbps at RM99 is just NOT competitive anymore. RM68/month 5G by others can get the same speed but FUP at 1000GB. I expect RM79 to continue using their 100Mbps service.

Should move to UMobile Fibre. Same infra/installer as TIME and cheaper for 100 mbps (79x24 months) . Been using it a week so far and no issues
*
Problem is for my condo ONLY Time is available and Umobile is NOT available. Outside of my condo Umobile Fibre is available to the shoplots ONLY.
There is no corporate cannibalism or competition, just Pakat among the two; Time & Umobile Fibre. furious.gif

Messed up on that calculation there
99 + 20 = 119

(Think of it like rm100 + 20 = rm120)

It is a slight discount over public price but you get locked back in again
Also the free routers are ehhhhhh
*
Spend more, pay more SST too but SST is good for the country though.

Yes...
100Mbps --> 200Mbps
300Mbps --> 500Mbps
500Mbps --> 600Mbps

1Gbps & 2Gbps remain the same with no speed boost.
*
SPEED BOOST is just a joke

All the fibre optic cables installed are capable of 2 Gbps or higher such as 10 Gbps.
It is already wired at the highest speed.

The ISP (Time) use throttling to reduce bandwidth use by a particular user. Just change in software to "allow" higher speed cap.
It is NOT "boost" shocking.gif

If I understand correctly, they just change the contract extension offer from

(A) reduction of MYR20/mth or free router
to
(B) free speed upgrade + free router.

Am I right?
*
There was never an offer of "reduction of MYR20/mth" for 100Mbps renewal. Only Time use UMobile to offer RM79 to tap into the untapped market.

1) 100Mbps 5G is now priced at RM68 per month.
2) The 5G modem can be mobile , moves from 1st home to 2nd home to hotels, to office to ...

question is how stable is those 5G connection at your location (especially for video related consumption) and the limit on data quota
*
5G is not for everyone as FUP is at 1000GB.
For those always travelling and not much time for video, it will be good I think.
For example, day time working elsewhere and night time + weekends only use internet.

I think one typical video (full 1 hour 40 minutes FHD) is about 1.4GB so if only video consmption will be 700 full film per month or 23 movies (watching together) per day.
Impossible for anyone or 11 movies concurrently per couple / per day, every day

I'm on the 100mbps plan since Feb 2023, do I get these?
1) Free speed upgrade to 200mbps
2) Free wifi 6 router, if renew contract
3) One-off RM99 discount, if renew contract

https://www.lowyat.net/2024/319740/time-spe...home-customers/

This articles says I don't need to fulfill 20mths to be eligible, but when I live chat Time, they say only item 1 is ongoing, item 2 and 3 are not?  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

From my experience, renewal goodies (rewards) only comes in the 20th / 21st month for the 24-month contract.

In the event of a burglary, if the theft destroys your NVR(source of recording) on the way out your evidences goes with it.

IP-Cams have 2 modes, paid cloud hosted recording and localized recording with its own memory storage. This makes all your IP-Cam decentralized at home more ideally safe.

You can hide several of them scattered in your house from plain eye sight and the thief who breaks in would have to find every single one of them to destroy the evidence.

If they're on cloud recording live, even if the physical cam is destroyed you're still safe.

NVRs which are centralized is way more susceptible for burglars to attack only a single point and everything that is linked to it is gone.

Yes.

I have a NAS on 24/7 which can record from multiple IP cameras simultaneously, either to the NAS itself or to the cloud.

However I still prefer to let Xiaomi Cloud 'Mi home app for home automation' (comes with Xiaomi IP cameras) do the job as it is very easy.
The notification on mobile and its settings can be tweak to your requirement.

At its most sensitive level, it can detect a small insect flying past and notify you within seconds but with six cameras, 3 overseas and 3 in Johor, it quite a tasks to monitor.
The free recordings is upto one month for every camera. The recordings can be downloaded if you get notifications. The recorded clips (mentioning persons recorded) with time stamped can then be downloaded. It is convenient and one can make a polis report immediately wherever you are.

Seems like you fell victim to marketing talk and theoretical/test environment numbers ...
...at this stage are you seriously expecting 2Gbps on a wireless connection with consumer grade equipment?

The speed you get is actually already pretty good, surely can be improved, but I dont know your environment.

The "2 Gbps Wifi6 Router" offered by TIME is a router capable of 2Gbps combined with Wifi6.
While Wifi6 theoretically can do what... 9.6Gbps over multiple channels... realistic real-world speeds for Wifi6 per device are more or less in the range you have now.
*
Consumers need to be realistic with current achievable WiFi speed.
Through cable if need higher speed, not WiFi.

world is running out of public IPv4 addresses.

IPv6 is ok, but many legacy devices have compatibility issues.

CGNAT allows the ISP to internally redistribute their own addresses and I am going to speculate a bit cheaper for ISP side.
But don't listen to me I am a noob in networking.
*
I am on 200Mbps and private IP 169.254.xxx.xx and as you have explained, able to access my Synology NAS located in Singapore.
