Unifi started charging rm25 for the phone line each month. So even easier choice to go for Time now...
*
Hi, TIME is even better. Free 30 minutes for RM 2.50 only.
It's cheaper than Unifi.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Feb 11 2019, 11:46 AM)
if signup online for rm100 rebate, can still get TIME switchover contract rebate RM500?

thinking to switchover from unifi (under contract)
*
Hi, thanks for the interest on TIME Fibre.

You may refer to your PM about the easy switch rebate.

Thanks.

QUOTE(DjK @ Feb 11 2019, 11:45 PM)
hi guys,

wanting to opt for time 100mbps package since my Unifi package has reached 2 years maturity.

i'm currently in a condo with no existing fiber optics and just common copper wire.

Time and Unifi has installed the fiber optics at the riser room at my floor (approx 6 meters away from front door, additional ~15meters to existing wall internet socket)

I do not see any junction boxes at my floor's riser room but only cable trunk installed. Does this means that my fiber optic wire would need to be pulled from the floor which has a junction box up to my floor and subsequently to my house?

With this additional costs i think that opting out does not presents advantage.

Also, I would like to know whether the RM99/100mbps,RM139/500mbps, RM199/1Gbps has already deducted the RM100 promo that they are currently having? or does it mean to be like the scenario below:
"subscribe RM99/100mbps package and 1st month's billing deduct 1-time-only RM100 and subsequent months as usual RM99 billed."

Lastly, has anyone here have experience in fiber optics installation by Time's appointed installer and will they explain the additional charges before doing anything? coz having an installation bill shock is not what i wanted.

your feedbacks are much appreciated. icon_question.gif

Hi, thanks for the interest on TIME Fibre.
TIME technician will fix PVC Pipe outside your premise from the Riser Room.
The Fibre cable outside your house is covered by TIME.

For inside, fibre cable up to 20 meters is free. After exceeding 20 meters, will be charge RM 10 per merter.
The cable will measure from your doorstep. Installation is free except if exceed the limit of fibre cable.

For online signup, there will be RM 100 off on the first bill. RM 99 doesn't include 6% SST.

Thanks.

The internet logo on the TP Link Archer C1200 keeps turning red despite fixing it these past 2 weeks.

First time it happened, I called cs and they helped resolved the issue. Then it happened again. Called them, said they will call back, didnt call back and I managed to resolve it myself with resetting the whole network. The third time it happened, TIME got one staff to come and said it was because the router firmware required updating. Well, it worked after that. But today (just now around 3.40 pm), this thing just happened again.

This is getting very out of hand already. I expected more from TIME. Even though Unifi had terrible range and was slower, at least disruptions like this did not happen as frequently.
*
Hi, may I know what's the firmware version on your C1200?
Which plan that you're using right now?

TIME Stock Router have a lot of random restart issues.
I may suggest you to get own router instead.

Thanks.

Btw, the rm100 rebate still available? That apply for extra cables charge only?
*
Hi, RM 100 Off on the first bill when you sign up online.

For fibre cables, outside your house is covered by TIME and it is free.
TIME will provide free 20 meters cable from the doorstep entry.
RM 10 will be charged for additional per meter.

Thanks.

Guys

I have recently just subscribed to TIME fibre 100mbps.
I noticed that I am only getting maximum 30mbps in my room.
I am using TP-Link AC1200 router and it is placed at the living room.

There is a smart TV and a wall in between my room and my router.
Can a WiFi extender solve my problem?
*
Hi, you connect via which band in the room?
WiFi extender will reduce the speed by half.

Thanks.

Hi, how much are you paying per month?
RM 129 or RM 139 excluding SST?
If RM 129 per month excluding SST, if you downgrade, the discount that you have unable forward when you upgrade back to 500Mbps. Once you downgrade, your discount will be void.

QUOTE(earshore @ Feb 15 2019, 10:14 PM)
I am subscribing to the 500mbps plan, I previously got upgraded from the 100mbps.
I notice I am still paying RM 149.99. Is the new rate of RM 139.99 for 500mbps applicable for people like me.

Thank you.
*
Hi, you may check the statement to get the details of the charges.

Thanks

paying 147.35 total

so 139. how did some people get it for only 129?
*
Before TIME introduce 100Mbps, 300Mbps and 500Mbps.
Was 10, 20 30, 50 and 100Mbps.

Existing 10Mbps users have to pay RM 129 per month excluding tax.

My plan is 10>100>500Mbps.

Thanks.

Hi. Just installed the 500mbps package yesterday. Everything went well, can see the speed test on the installer guy's laptop the download rate was around 500mbps. Today I did the speedtest again on my pc and only got these results.

[attachmentid=10185034]

Is there any setting I have to do on my pc?
*
Hi, you tested via Cable or Wi-Fi?

Is your Anti-Virus and Firewall disabled?

Thanks.

Looks like you connected using Wifi and with the supplied TP-Link C1200? If so, it's "normal". You might recall that the installer ran the test while connected to the router via a cable connection. Hence being able to max full speed. Want such on wifi? Need to connect via cable or get a better router. I had to drill holes and run cables directly to my main PC in a further room to max speeds.. This be my results using the Speedtest app on wired Windows 10 PC. Both Windows & Bit-defender antivirus and firewalls enabled.
[attachmentid=10185269]
Perhaps you could give me sample urls to check on my end..?
Image shows tests were over wifi..
*
Oh ya. Over Wi-Fi unable more than 350Mbps unless you use high end router and high end wireless adapter.
Mine using LAN Cable with Avast AV. Able to achieve 520Mbps DL and 500Mbps UL.
Image as below.

Just installed 500Mbps Time Fibre.

Anyone can advise what's suitable model & brand of homeplug and wireless adapter/receiver?
*
Hi, for Wireless Adapter and receiver.
If got budget then get TP-Link T9UH which can achieve up to 500Mbps
if no budget then get ASUS USB-AC68 AC1900.

QUOTE(Cochrane7 @ Feb 20 2019, 02:04 PM)
Wifi extender same with homeplug?

if different, will homeplug reduce the speed by half also?
*
Hi, powerline also not reliable.
Powerline cannot go above 100Mbps IRL.
I suggest you to extend LAN Cable and set one router as an AP or buy Mesh Wi-Fi Router.

Thanks.

Just check lazada, Asus AC68 AC1900 (around RM450) much more expensive than TP Link T9UH (around RM160 to RM199)
what is Mesh Wi-Fi Router? do you have photo?
TIME already installed TP-Link Archer C1200 router. You means to add additional router?
*
You may search TP-Link Deco Mesh.
Try the stock router first.

If the stock router doesn't suit you well.

You may replace the stock router and setup PPPoE.

Thanks
