im different person la haha..FTTR will suck more money from me aduyai..i already report to TIME support they will sent technician come to troubleshoot.. if still can't get 500mbps then i ask them to pull fiber masuk my pc room since im the one pay the bill hehehe ..those user kat luar can enjoy slow speed hahaha
*
Icic. Hahaha.

U are staying in condo/apartment rite? Ur fibre pt at home is not really made one? I tot for newer one the fibre pt is fixed and normally at living room.

Time can change the fibre pt oh? Free?

If the fibre pt can be shifted to the middle part of the unit it will help to better place the mesh nodes to get better coverage and speed though.

yes stay in condo, previous tenant installed in master room, relocating within house TIME will charge rm80, this morning i korek balik my old tenda router set as AP much better can get 320++ mbps  doh.gif..this TIME wifi6 mesh mmg lousy betul. yesterday time said jarak main router and mesh mesti around 3 meter je
*
3 meter? Much as well dun do the mesh. 🤪

These two huawei free mesh routers they give are simply trash. U need to stand in front to get full speed.

I only use one of them as modem becos no choice.

I downgraded to100mbps thru self care portal. How long it take to change?
*
Does it show under the portal any term and condition changes after the downgrade? e.g. contract reset?

Do share ur experience after downgrade if 100Mbps is sufficient or not?

what's the reason to downgrade? save cost?
*
for me, yes, to save cost. Somemore I could not fully utilise the 500Mbps bandwidth.

Already downgraded this morning.

The experience is same, no lag or latency. Watching TV box, my kids watching YouTube fhd,  me also watching tiktok

Before downgraded, I called customer service to double confirm and portal show the last contract date. No reset or contract extension
*
Ya I also tot that the experience will be the same especially time fibre is on symmetric speed for both upload and download. 100Mbps is really sufficient especially I am the only one using it.

Will downgrade on 15 June which my contract will be 6 months old, now just enjoy the special price of rm99 for first month free and 5 months first.

I dun mind to have the contract reset to keep my monthly subscription paid at rm99 only.

Save cost. 1 year can save around rm400 including sst.

100mbps is more than enough for normal usage, Netflix, youtube, tiktok for 3-4 devices concurrently.

Even can watch 4k content with 3 devices concurrently.
*
Yeah. Prefer to save cost than keeping the high speed plan just for doing speedtest only. 🤪

100Mbps is perfectly fine.

Upload speed is ok also at 100Mbps, for tm even 500Mbps plan only has 100Mbps upload speed.

"TIME Fibre Home always puts you as our priority and we'd like to hear you out to serve you better.

Help us out by clicking on the link below to answer a short survey.

We appreciate your time and feedback.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
TIME"

I did the survey and told TIME that their 100Mbps at RM99 is just NOT competitive anymore. RM68/month 5G  by others can get the same speed but FUP at 1000GB. I expect RM79 to continue using their 100Mbps service.
*
indeed. if time can afford to lease the infra to u mobile that allows them to sell it at rm79 for 100Mbps and again still can make profit out of it... it does not explain why time could not do so... afterall, if ppl go for u mobile due to the lower price, it is also lugi for time fibre... the only advantage to time now is only that not many may be aware of the u mobile promo price.

if not becos u mobile does not allow reallocation plus termination needs to pay the full remaining months of subscription, i will go for u mobile for sure...

somemore the irritating is that few days only after i installed time fibre last year on 15 dec, u mobile comes out this promo already. if not becos of the above constraints, i definitely feel regretted to the max by going for time instead.

QUOTE(zack.gap @ Mar 16 2024, 01:10 PM)
Should move to UMobile Fibre. Same infra/installer as TIME and cheaper for 100 mbps (79x24 months) . Been using it a week so far and no issues
*
yes, correct... but too bad, cannot relocate and need to pay remaining of subscriptions for contract if terminated, which it does not suit me, else rm79 is certainly the best price one can pay for a usable fibre broadband monthly.

QUOTE(eauyong @ Mar 16 2024, 02:31 PM)
Problem is for my condo ONLY Time is available and Umobile is NOT available. Outside of my condo Umobile Fibre is available to the shoplots ONLY.
There is no corporate cannibalism or competition, just Pakat among the two; Time & Umobile Fibre.  furious.gif
*
mine has both time and u mobile coverage le... technically if time is available, u mobile should be too.. tongue.gif

downloading in another 3 months time... tongue.gif

Messed up on that calculation there
99 + 20 = 119

(Think of it like rm100 + 20 = rm120)

It is a slight discount over public price but you get locked back in again
Also the free routers are ehhhhhh
*
Yaya u are rite. If u are ok with the current speed (100Mbps), then just stick to it and keep contract free then. Their free wireless mesh are trash, can forget it. 🤪

u mobile fibre 100Mbps promo is until 31 March 2024. if it is true, then it will become same price as time fibre then no more competitive advantage.

For our observation, most customers no longer focus on the land line given...mobile lines are replacing land lines in many ways... only some older generations are still used to having land lines or as a backup purpose for areas where the mobile signals are pretty weak.
*
ic. Ya indeed. Only thing the time voice may be useful I guess is the IDD calls. They have promo price of 8 cents per min to 60 countries which are relatively cheaper than most postpaid and prepaid IDD calls, if one really does need to make such calls, it can be useful.

I myself also use my prepaid line to make local calls too only nowadays, since it is unlimited calls.

Time Broadband finally giving complimentary speed boost? Loyalty TnC changed today.

https://www.time.com.my/loyalty-programmes/...-and-conditions

dun understand this promo what does it got to do with free speed boost?
It seems to target existing users with obsolete plans that are no longer existed?

Also seems like time is following the footsteps for all ISPs that any termination now will incur more than just rm500 only like before. This is bad.

“If you wish to terminate your subscription within contract, you would incur an early termination charge of RM500 or the sum of your remaining contractual period, whichever is higher.”

Yes...
100Mbps --> 200Mbps
300Mbps --> 500Mbps
500Mbps --> 600Mbps

1Gbps & 2Gbps remain the same with no speed boost.
*
with the same price? existing 100Mbps plan users are paying for rm99? now free upgrade to 200Mbps?
what about 300Mbps and 500Mbps users how much do they pay?

100Mbps to 200Mbps if rm99 or lower is certainly a good deal....

1Gbps & 2Gbps remain the same with no speed boost. - those went for highest possible plans always ended up as water fish eventually. tongue.gif

I just checked my existing old contract account with 300mbps RM 109 plan has been upgraded to 500mbps automatically and will be charging RM 129 per month after contract ends.

No downgrade option found in self care portal for now. Can request manual downgrade after contract ended.
*
So ur contract kena refreshed by 24 months? So for this 24 months u could not downgrade or terminate else u need to pay the penalty which is rm500 or remaining months of subscription whichever is higher.

And this free speed upgrade only lasts for 24 months? While u will be paying rm129 usual price after that?
