I would like to know if it would be possible to get a check up relating mental health at Government Hospitals in Malaysia.
If so, then what and how do i register myself? Like what should i fill in the form when they ask "what I'm having troubles with"?
Also, how much would a check up cost? Just wanting to make sure that I'm getting all the right facts before going to a hospital.
Thank you very much for taking the time to respond, for even reading. I'm a secondary school student, so I'm very sorry if my questions seems idiotic or frustrating in a way.
If your age is less than 18 years old(based on date of birth): you need your parent/guardian to accompany you regardless of any visit(private/government).
1. Government Health Clinic --> referral to Government Psychiatric Clinic
I would recommend you to go to government health clinic and get a referral letter to Government Hospital Psychiatric clinic.
If you are studying in a government school : it is totally free for all followup and medications(provided you hand over a letter from your school stating that you are a government school student).
2. If you want faster option : Go to a private GP -->> referral letter to Government Psychiatric Clinic
You need to pay at Government Psychiatric Clinic: RM 30 for first visit and RM5 for subsequent visit. Medications are not included.
3.Walk in as a full paying patient at a government hospital psychiatric clinic(not all hospitals would offer this option)
RM80-200 first visit, medications are not included
4.Go to private psychiatrist
More than RM200/first visit, medications are not included.
Do not follow non-sense advocated by other /k. If you have major depression : you need to consult a psychiatrist.
