If GX38 DL/UL speed for HSDPA is below 1Mbps all the time, me gonna cancel the intention to MNP lahhhhh... Why UM do this "H+ restrictions" ....? Cost-cutting exercise is it....?

Well, Celcom being a pioneer Big 3 celco and GLC, has from the beginning provided extensive cellular network coverage to rural areas, beside the usual city/urban areas = many rural areas today are only covered by Celcom's 3G network, ie no 4G network = Celcom has maintained top-notch 3G performance for the rural folks, which also benefits the city/urban folks.
....... Similarly, MASWings flies small Twin Otter aircrafts into remote rural airports in East Malaysia, eg Kudat, Marudi, Bario, Mulu, Limbang, Lawas, Long Seridan, Long Lellang, etc = not much money made but more of a public social service for rural folks.

UMobile is different, ie a newcomer celco and non-GLC, who has from the beginning provided good cellular network coverage only to city/urban areas, neglecting many rural areas = UMobile today has bottom-notch 3G performance and good 4G performance for city/urban folks.
....... IOW, for UMobile, it is pure business-motivated = there is more money to be made in city/urban areas than rural areas.

Buy new sim & test out yourself first..
See yourself how "good" services they give..
Then u decide...

That's all..
If I say more.
Then branded as "unifi mobile staff" trying to spoil U Mobile "good reputation" 😑🤭

Lol so you're go-to guy here?

Anyway just bought a sim and upon first testing, the signals are fine. Speedtest goes around 16mbps.

Gonna test again at my workplace tomorrow.

If I were to use the new gx38, what's the speed gonna be like when it's on H? Unifi was bad when it's on H because of capping from celcom although they deny it many times from my complain. My dad's celcom can go around 8mbps while I got only 0.6mbps. when I see that it's on H, basically I can give up using my phone.

If it is indeed on 6mbps with a stable connection, I'm fine with it. Mostly surf websites and some light YouTube.

H+ speed? Well its can be below 1Mbps... Heck if your place bad.. 4G also get such speeds.....

Stable or not its for u to do testing.... Not me..

If U Mobile do not have 4G in some of your daily active places, then you must give up U Mobile and go to MAXIS or CELCOM.

You must test it throughout the day. You get 16mbps during the day does not mean u still get it during the night. Because during congestion to just get stable connection is like gambling getting blackjack

Yup.
Night also needed to test..
Because that is the peak for most housing places..
People would be using for various reasons... From there we can see if network can withstand the loads or not 😁

The speed at my workplace is amazing. Exceeded my expectations.

Tested a few times and the speed does seem stable and sustains throughout different periods of time.

I need gx38/30 only though. laugh.gif

GX38 maximum speed is 6Mbps.

Have you locked to which 4G band in order to get the best speed?

https://www.soyacincau.com/2019/04/23/u-mob...rcent-coverage/ - 23 April 2019
''''''' U Mobile is also refarming part of its existing 3G spectrum especially the higher 2100MHz band for 4G use while maintaining 900MHz for 3G. U Mobile is also retaining its nationwide 2G domestic roaming arrangement with Maxis which provides wider coverage for calls and SMS nationwide. '''''''
.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U_Mobile
Frequencies used on U Mobile Network in Malaysia Frequency

Frequency.................................................. Width ..............Protocol ........Notes
900 MHz (900~905, 945~950) ...............2 * 5 MHz ..... HSPA+
1800 MHz (1730~1745, 1825~1840) ....2 * 15 MHz ....LTE
2100 MHz (1920~1935, 2110~2125) ....2 * 15 MHz .....HSPA+/LTE ...2x10MHz LTE(2x5MHz 3G)
.....................................................................................................................2x15MHz LTE only in some area
2600 MHz (2520~2530, 2640~2650) .....2 * 10 MHz .....LTE

So, U Mobile has 4G LTE on Band 7(2600MHz), Band 3(1800MHz) and Band 1(2100MHz), and has 3G only on Band 8(900MHz). Band 3(1800MHz) is better for wall penetration.

Seems U Mobile is focussing on improving 4G LTE performance in city/urban areas = neglecting 3G/HSPA+ = neglecting rural areas.
