Hye guy, I have been using umobile for almost 3 years. I used travel alot to small town and umobile still working like charm, even lack of 4g coverage but still a solid H+ coverage.

But recently these few months, I realise that the internet speed is quite bad, even in KL area. Back to my hometown in pahang, the speed is so bad and it can’t even load a youtube properly. Anyone feeling the same way as I do?

Btw, I still using P70 old plan, still the best plan for me.

This is my question also. I'm using Huawei Honor series phone, twice. Both also having the same problem, but I do agree with you that service provider don't provide GPS signal. However I always appear "error calculating" on waze. Do you know what is the problem?

If you are using China made phones, it could be the A-GPS is pointing to china based server. Try changing that to google ones, and it can be much faster than the phone trying to fetch a-gps data from china. However, if you are in China, you may need the China ones as Google ones are likely banned. For example, Xiaomi phones are using China based a-gps data, once you change the setting to google ones, the gps will lock much faster than the default settings and much accurate too.

seems like umobile are ready to use its own network without relying on maxis anymore (extend ran contract).
based on coverage map, most of the area are covered in 4G include west malaysia... quite impress they can cover whole malaysia in such a short time

They know that many Malaysians out there don't bother about the speed.
Whenever people see the word "unlimited", their eyes will open big big and immediately interested to sign up.

If they publicly advertise 1.5Mbps speed, for sure many people won't interested to sign up, and even terminate U Mobile dy.
That's why they rather emphasise their Unlimited plans more than the 3Mbps and 5Mbps speed cap for GX30 and GX50 plans respectively.

You go watch their ad:
I can see that they throw a lot of money in marketing and promotions to entice especially youngsters to sign up and port over to U Mobile.
So now they rather throw in more money in advertising than improving its network, and when the network became too congested, they throttle the speed, and then push the blame to those abusive users.

In conclusion? Throw money into advertising is cheaper than improving its mobile network.

"RM30/month? Wow, so worth it. My existing telco don't even offer unlimited data at that kind of price."
Words like this, is something that is most commonly heard by especially those non-tech-savvy youngsters and the rest of the public out there.

At least allocated them equally to TM/Unifi, MAXIS, CELCOM, Digi and U Mobile.

Not like now, mostly go to TM/Unifi, MAXIS and CELCOM.

How to do that?

Isn't the speed will slow down if the line is unstable?
Why still need to throttle the speed?

I think there are many U Mobile users in your area and thus cause the line congested during normal time.

According to someone here, 4G can allow 60 people (if I am not mistaken) to use the line at the same time without problem.

But if more than that amount, then the line will become congested.

Look like 3G is better and more stable than 4G.

i didnt restart upon seeing connection switched to EDGE. but i do turned off my phone every night. just this 2 days it happened on and off especially in the morning and in the evening.

anyone sign Upackage with U mobile before? how is the process? They lock your credit card limit or bill to you and you pay them monthly?
Need advice.
