So this note 8, once we send to service center there’s no way to know if its water resistant is still good? My phone was always fine when i brought it for a swim, but not today. Now my screen won’t turn on even though i can hear notifications coming in. Asking a friend to call, i can hear the ring tone, he heard ringing sound, but screen stayed off. Even heptic home button doesn’t vibrate.

Usually if you send your phone to Samsung Service Centre, they would conduct IP68 water test before releasing the phone back to you. Not sure how come yours ended up this way.

Btw, they do have warranty for the parts they replaced, so hopefully it was the screen. 😅

Me too. Now my phone is totally inaccessible even though i can hear all d notifications.
I don’t know if it’s screen. But my phone is out of warranty already. And it’s been quite a while since i send it for service and according to them they changed motherboard.

Btw any of you guys have any idea what’s the problem? Notifications sound, vibration, call in all can hear, but screen just wont turn on   

LOLz.....Note 11 would be another 10 months wait Bro. Sure you can wait that long without your Note? I hope you made backups of your whatsapp to google drive. Otherwise you need to use Samsung Dex to mirror screen content to PC.

I cant access my phone to unlock. Seems like biometric is not working. So even though i can connect the phone to laptop using usb, i cant access the files cause my phone is lock. Heish.

I tried yesterday only found option to lock and erase data. No option to backup remotely.

Edit : found samsung's find my mobile on the web. Looks like can backup and unlock phone. Yesterday's one was google's find my device. I'll see what I can do if I can get the phone to start again

Yea. I thought I came across the website before and I tried googling it. Didn’t know it can come in handy.
Darn. I didn’t enable remote unlock. So I cant unlock the phone with password although the option is there. I managed to backup some files and samsung notes though. Gallery i dont think can. Samsung cloud only 15gb. Lol. And the process always got interrupted midway.

A lot of lesson learnt for me from this mishap. Didn't think I ever need remote unlock, so i switched it off. Also no matter what rating my phone is, back everything up before taking it for a bath. Using s6 edge now, my previous phone before this note and battery is killing me. Also, so small. Lol.

just noticed today that the note 8 photo editor have limit for max zoom in/out so i can't edit the tiny details of the photo the same way as pc

I believe there was always a limit to the degree of zoom in/out that the photo editor is capable of.

You are talking about S10/Note 10 wide angle lens is different from the photo editors max zoom in/out

But still is only so much level of zoom in/out on the photo editor. Cannot go beyond the stars Bro 🤭

How I also wish Bro. Samsung seems to be more generous with the S10 series by giving all the goodies from the Note 10 in software updates by stages.

Can't salvage. Bixby keeps triggering, volume down button damaged and phone is in safe mode no matter how many times I restart. Screen flickering and colours in green shades. Replaced it with pixel 3. Lol. Hopefully can survive without s-pen for almost a year.

Update: my power button works back itself but unfortunately my front and back camera got in water (or fog).

Tried all the method online like putting in rice, under sunlight and stuff

Back camera fog gone but front camera still have fog.

Went to service center, staff told me need to prepare to lose whole phone because need to change front camera and motherboard which will cost Rm1.5k+....... Bloody hell so I contact a repair shop near my area (Setapak)

They say they will open and try to clear any water residue and only then will inform me whether to change motherboard+front camera or front camera only. Total cost not more than RM500. Reason not going to official service center is because it is too expensive and its better to change to note10 if that is the case. But I really like my note8 other than the battery.

Will update again soon as my phone will be sent into repair by tomorrow

Simple solution Bro, get one of those water resistant cases for your Note 8 with a depth of up to 10 metres. Shouldn't be too expansive these days.

For what it's worth though, in my case before this happened, the phone never got into any problem when i brought it for swim, multiple of times already. The problem came the first time I brought it for a swim after I send it for service. So if you never send it for service it should be ok i guess? But better safe than sorry

Quite impossible that the screen hardware of the Note 9 can support 120hz Bro. It would require new hardware to be enabled to do this
