Sorry for my lack of details. I must have been half asleep.

I belive that anything not 8th gen is not worth it since I'm buying new. When buying new, I expect the latest components.
I also belive that anything below i3 for laptops is useless and i5/i7 would make laptop louder since they will heat up more.
The heat reason is also why I hate dedicated grpahics in laptops.

I also should have added that I'm looking for a touchscreen FHD laptop with at least an i3 processor. AMD equivalent also ok.

OR

Acer Swift 3 SF315-51G-56T6 15.6 inch Laptop/ Notebook

Build quality, display, performance (after RAM+SSD upgrades) and thermal are similar between these 3. I would choose Swift 3 due to better battery life, however it has soldered RAM and can be quite bulky

S530 is a bit expensive, and no review from NBC yet

Hi,

If I reduce below spec:
3. Screen size : smallest (cheaper?)
4. Config : Intel Pentium, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, , Basic Graphic card

Any recommendation?

If go for 2nd hand,
any recommendation?

Thanks.

Pentium+4GB RAM+HDD is already struggling to handle light tasks in W10

Search for used premium Thinkpads (T,X,W series) with 1 year warranty

X280 with touchscreen

Acer Spin 5 13 - good sRGB IPS
Lenovo Yoga 520/530 +RAM

Small battery:
Acer Swift 5 SF514-52T - good sRGB IPS
HP Pavilion x360 14 cd0036tx +RAM

Not worth it mainly due to battery life and price, warranty is the best though

Additional Question i want to ask should need to upgrade the samsung ssd for fast boosting Win 10 and chrome only in my laptop ? or Another budget brand of ssd like kingstom, adata or crucial enough for me to boost up the win 10? because i afraid the budget ssd are not stable and shorter lifespan than the expensive one like samsung brand. can mention the laptop model that able to install the 3.0 pcie sdd, m.2 ssd or sata ssd ?

finally i need to ask which kind of the brand for laptop ram that are more stable and longer lifespan than other one ? i just need to add more 4gb ram only. is the budget brand of laptop ram are good enough for me to using around 4 or 5 years ?

As mentioned by others, you maybe opt for used/refurbish set...just got to build my laptop for office work

ThinkPad x230
i5 3230M
4 gb
320 gb HDD

Cost me for RM 530 for refurbish set with 3 month warranty

Swap the hdd with ssd 240 - cost RM 127
Swap ram with 2x8gb Corsair vengeance - cost RM 350

Total RM 1007...totally worth it as it better than laptop provided by employer (ThinkPad L440 i5 4200M, 4gb, 500gb hdd).

Every brand has good and bad models, same goes to SSD. IMO Samsung SSD is too expensive, I can help you to choose if you want. NVMe and SATA SSD don't really matter for normal users

RAM is RAM, any brand will do. Lifetime warranty

Hey i found the two laptop model which is aspire 5 52g i5 8260 with fhd ips screen 15.6 inch and ideapal 320s 14, this two kind of model enable to upgrade the ram and ssd from pro active shop in lowyat but i not sure can upgrade with pci nmve and nvme sata or not btw this two model would u recommended for me to using around 2 or 4 years above ?

How can i take care the laptop with pcie nvme or nvme sata ssd ?

Can u recommended the ssd and ram brand which is stable and not eaaily to get faulty under rm 400 below for me ? or i just straight away upgrade to samsung ssd ?

And the ram can install with any kind of brand ? Because based on my experience on desktop should choose with the same specific of ram and same brand of ram like kingston only can mix with kingston

And i also i have read some review which is the laptop shop free to help u install with cheat ssd and ram that is not reliable because most of them they want u to get faulty easiliy in order to charge me with extra fees like repair the ssd and ram or the maintance fees. How i can avoid with this kind of threat for me ?
