k thanks for your suggestion, will decided to choose what model, btw, is really worth to buy for t480 with non mx150 ? if include with mx150 i also can acceptable

but i have also read the review about t480, seems for now most of the ppl they feel thinkpad quality are not better than old thinkpad and some ppl was complain just because thinkpad t or x series was faulty after they only using with few months or even few days.........

should i reduce the budget to save money buy with rm 3000 below ? cuz i feel that good screen srgb fhd screen laptop are easily to faulty one if expect of them only the rm 3000 below laptop can choosen already....

T480 is a solid model, however it's also expensive. A good alternative is A485

Yeah Thinkpad quality isn't the same as before, but still better than consumer lineup

Good sRGB display easy to be faulty? What

Give a range on weight and battery life: max kg and min hours
Do you need 16GB RAM? (now or in future)
*
HI, ZM,
For weight anything <2 kg should be ok. Battery life looking at around 6 hours or so. Good to have 16GB RAM if budget is permissible.
Thanks.

High sRGB. But it runs hot and the build quality is just OK-good. Based on Clevo N870

Acer Swift 3 SF314-54+RAM (up to 12/20GB RAM)
Lenovo Ideapad 320s 14+RAM+SSD (up to 16GB RAM, single slot)

Smaller battery:
Dell Inspiron 7472 DFO - good sRGB IPS
Dell Vostro 5471+RAM+SSD
HP Pavilion x360 14 cd0036tx+RAM (up to 16GB RAM, single slot)
HP Pavilion 14 ce0082/83tx+RAM

If you can stretch your budget by a little more, can consider Lenovo Thinkpad A485:
R5-2500U, Vega 8, 4+4GB RAM, 128GB SSD M.2 2242 (can add one 2.5 inch or M.2 2280), IPS non touch, 24+48/72Wh battery, 65W USB C charger
Optional: Magnesium cover, IR camera, backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, WWAN

Hi, guys.

I'm looking for some advice regarding my next laptop purchase. I've been looking around the net these past few days and have decided to either buy the Lenovo Y530 or Dell G3.

These two laptops meet the requirements that I need, which are 8th gen i5/i7, GTX 1050ti and a muted/non-gamer look.

Question is, which one is the better purchase? Which one is better for some light gaming, considering thermals, performance, etc. ?

My budget can go up to RM 4k only (with lower being better, if not necessary). I will also consider other laptops/brands as long as they meet my requirements.

G3 has worse cooling. However, CFL-H laptops generally run hot, therefore some tweaks must be made

If you want to buy Y530, customize online will have more options but also slightly expensive (1050/1050TI models). If you're a student, you can get 15% student discount

Also consider Illegear Raven (TongFang GI5CN5E), Commandos Glock 5 (Clevo NB50TK1)

The Commandos laptop has definitely caught my attention. May I know which one you are referring to since there are several Glock 5's on the website?

Also, in your opinion, is the laptop of good quality (well built, sturdy, etc. )? I'm looking for a laptop that will last me for at least 3 years. I can't seem to find much review online about them. And what about the warranty support? Is it any good from TechArmory? I've no previous experience with them.

All are the same model, just different spec. BTW it uses desktop CPU

NB50TK1 is the successor of W650KK1 which is a popular budget option offered by Eluktronics (not in Malaysia). This model is fine, no major flaws. Build quality and cooling are alright, although they aren't 'excellent'. That's why it's a 'budget' option. Warranty from Clevo resellers should be good. I heard good things about the support from Tech Armory (ArmoryX), though myself never have experience before.

buy from shop has a lot of advantages as well if compare with online website, if every one think the way you are, all retail shop closed business , we don't have place to shop already biggrin.gif

1. Budget : Below RM7K

2. Usage : Mostly support work, checking emails, doing some testing of system such as VM / VDI. Light weight video editing work

3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Prefer light weight and small for easy carry, long battery life is a plus. Lots of RAM ~ 16GB as dealing with VM, more is good. Non MacOS pls.

Saw the Matebook Pro x I7 model and was wondering if there is any alternative. Thanks.

Normal Ultrabook cooling, nothing special. Not the best, not the worst. Note that models with dGPU will run slightly hotter in general

Weight : 1.5KG below? The lighter the better. Anything more would not be portable right?

Battery Life : If can withstand 5-6 hours would be best,
