Can you repeat what's your budget, usage and requirements?
*
1. Budget : 3-4k, willing to stretch to 4.5k

2. Usage : office work, programming, movies, music, gaming

3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) :

must: 15.6" screen, 8th gen i5/i7, gtx1050ti/1060, 16gb ram min, ssd + hdd.

dont care: battery life and weight.

initially wanted to go for the y530 already one, but then suddenly increased price.. so not sure if its still a good choice or got others that you can recommend.

i liked the y530 cause it doesnt have that typical gaming laptop look, white led is way nicer than red and makes the whole laptop look professional enough, read reviews that the keyboard is also quite decent, etc.

You can still get Y530 for under 4k with discount code, though the i7 model is more worth it IMO (more heat output though)

You can consider these:
Illegear Raven (TongFang GI5CN5E) - optional 144Hz IPS
Commandos Glock 5 (Clevo NB50TK1) - desktop CPU, many display options
Dell G7 - 1050 only (under 4k), low sRGB IPS ONLY
HP Omen 15-DC0094TX - a bit overpriced (8750H+1050), low sRGB IPS

If you can stretch to 4.5k:
Illegear Raven with 1060 GPU (TongFang GJ5CN6E)
Asus GL503GE - 120Hz TN
Dell G7 with 1050TI
HP Omen 15-DC0093TX

I just refunded my Dell XPS 13 haha.. The laptop is great, but I opt-ing for a 16gb ram laptop..
Since Im getting my money back, so maybe I can try out another laptop?
Budget about 7k. I can get student price as well..
Looking for 13inch or 14inch. Light laptop( no more than 1.5kg ) and a small power brick just in case I need to bring it.
Prferably with decent battery life, around 7-8 hours preferably.
Will be mainly using for college and some lightroom stuffs haha..

EDIT: Adding this in

1. Budget : 7.5k to 8k
2. Usage : Mainly for college, watching videos, and lightroom. Maybe Stardew Valley
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Preferably 13/14 inch. Battery life expect to last me at least 6 hours. Some days I need to bring to college and I'll be there from 8am till 5pm. Prefer to be light weight and thin.

Lenovo Thinkpad T480s? The default IPS panel has low sRGB, if you upgrade to WQHD you might lose some battery life. Comes with optional 10W MX150. i5 8250U can handle 3.4GHz all core under load (with some undervolt) in this model

BTW, how do you refund it?

I think its part of their 14 days refunds policy. I have some issue with the keyboard so I just buat complain and say I wanna return due to keyboard and thinking of getting a 16gb ram ver of it ( I got the 8gb ver. felt not enough )

Not gonna game on it to be honest.. just gonna use it for college and some work.. and doing some lightroom haha

Wouldnt the X1 Carbon be better?
Would the X1 Carbon be better than XPS 13?

Hi there, looking for a new gaming laptop since my desktop died already,

1. Budget RM4000~ RM5000 (can stretch to 6k if I have to)

2. Usage: Mainly gaming (games like Warframe, The Division, Monster Hunter, Starcraft II and future game like The Division 2 and Anthem)

3. Requirements: prefer to have 17 inch laptop, batt life hope can last up to 3~6 hours and weight doesn't really matter, also good customer service if (touchwood) my laptop got issue or faulty.

Currently I'm looking at a few MSI laptop and Illegear Z7 but would appriciate more choices

Illegear raven? Only difficult part about your request is the battery life.
Personally I'll be going for the Lenovo Y530 with student discount, 4.5k got gtx 1060, 144hz screen, now got 2 year on site warranty rather than 1. If you can maybe wait for alienware M15 or razer blade 15 base model, need to see their pricing

For 17 inch models, none. FYI every brand has good and bad models, including MSI, so don't just look at brand only

For the few model that you mentioned, do they have 17inch screen? Personally the screen size quite matters to me :B

Off the top of my head, Acer predator helios got 17inch screen but not sure if sold here and screen quality lousy, most 17inch out of that budget, normally 10k plus.

Just did a quick Google : https://www.lazada.com.my/products/dell-ali...5&utm_campaign=[SSC-000000000000-00000-00000-0]:%20Smart%20Shopping%20Campaign&utm_term=[SSC-000000000000-00000-00000-0]:%20Smart%20Shopping%20Campaign_xxmo0000000at0000_m_pla-296303633664&adjust_tracker=t2v78t_5n20iw&adjust_campaign=1032211143&adjust_adgroup=54400014687_m_pla-296303633664&adjust_creative=296303633664_441889647_118087295&tracker_limit=1000000&ef_id=WmVsMgAAAGHvYhOf:20181015080159:s just go for this

I see, not much choices if i go for 17inch screen, currently managed to shortlist Illegear only, but I heard it's a local brand right? Any thoughts on the company?

Used Acer before, screen is really bad and broke d send warranty few months T.T... rather not go through that again :/
