Is it due to power limit or other reason? I was told that XPS 15 with 1050Ti has proprietary charger and chargable with type-C as well.Notebook Recommendation Thread v.31, Need To Buy Laptop... Please Come In

The only GTX laptop that can charge via USB C is XPS 15 from what I know, however 9570 model isn't that good (9575 is OK, non-upgradable RAM though) |

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Jun 2 2019, 09:32 PM) <13mm would be excellent, <18mm would be acceptable.Screen size >13inch, <15inch. Believe that at this thickness, even at 15 inch it won't be too heavy. I kinda like the xps 13 and xps 15 and spectre, similar form factor would be great. Touchscreen is optional. |

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Jun 3 2019, 08:23 AM) More powerful CPU+GPU = more noise. There is a trade off here I see, i guess i dont really need it too powerful, as long as it is not the annoying lag.Any preference on weight and battery life? Weight less than 2kg, battery life least priority as mostly will be used at home, but dont want a desktop Im thinking of Microsoft Surface Pro 6 too This post has been edited by b787: Jun 3 2019, 10:50 AM |

QUOTE(kokoro @ May 30 2019, 09:46 PM) Hey guys, need help on deciding a laptop There's an XPS 9370 on the Dell official refurbished website that is for RM 5199, just slightly higher than your budget but maybe you can try asking for discount Budget: <4.5, max 5k Purpose: Work (mostly word processing and multi-tab internet browsing), occasional video editing, movies and tv shows. gaming is a plus but not necessary. What I'm looking for: - be able to run all of the above smoothly -Decent screen -Light - 512gb ssd -sturdy and somewhat future proof, able to last me a good 3+ years Very nearly bought the i7 version of the Yoga S730, had almost everything I wanted, but the screen size/aspect ratio is putting me off a bit. Other I'm considering is the Huawei Matebook Pro X (i5,2018 version as the higher spec one is way out of budget), but this one the specs don't seem as good as the Yoga. I'm also considering the ASUS Zenbook UX433. This one i feel has the perfect size for me, but I'm not a fan of the design and I've heard many complaints about its build. Willing to hear any other options as long as they meet my requirements. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! PROCESSOR: Intel Core 8th Generation i7-8550U Processor (Quad Core, up to 4.00GHz, 8MB Cache, 15W) SOFTWARE: Windows 10 Home STORAGE:512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Class 40 Solid State Drive Hard Drive RAM: 16GB 1866MHz LPDDR3 Memory MEMORY SCREEN: 13.3inch FHD (1920 x 1080) InfinityEdge Display, Silver Machined Aluminum LCD GRAPHICS: Intel UHD Graphics GRAPHICS https://www.dell.com/en-my/outlet/ProductDe...&prdid=&seg=DFH |

1. Budget : Preferably below 2.5k but can stretch to 3k
2. Usage : Mostly media consumption but should be able to play old games (specifically want to be able to play Portal, Half Life 2 series and Portal 2 😁), for newer games I have a PS4, should be able to run Android studio smoothly. 3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : 14 to 15 inch display, battery life at least 3 hours, display should be vibrant and not dull, not too heavy but not much preferance for weight |
