choose GTX GPU or go for lower end GPU for USB C charging. Choose 1 only

Is it due to power limit or other reason? I was told that XPS 15 with 1050Ti has proprietary charger and chargable with type-C as well.

Yes, 100W limit. The only GTX laptop that can charge via USB C is XPS 15 from what I know, however 9570 model isn't that good (9575 is OK, non-upgradable RAM though)

Then chargable with type C is optional.

My main requirement is slim, with discrete GPU and long lasting battery (>7 hours web browsing/office tool usage)

How slim? Give a range

Any preference on weight? Is touchscreen a must?

<13mm would be excellent, <18mm would be acceptable.

Screen size >13inch, <15inch.

Believe that at this thickness, even at 15 inch it won't be too heavy.

I kinda like the xps 13 and xps 15 and spectre, similar form factor would be great.

Touchscreen is optional.

Thanks! The PS63 is quite good for its price especially the new GPU. Don't think any Dell / HP can compare with similar spec at this price.

More powerful CPU+GPU = more noise. There is a trade off here

Any preference on weight and battery life?

I see, i guess i dont really need it too powerful, as long as it is not the annoying lag.
Weight less than 2kg, battery life least priority as mostly will be used at home, but dont want a desktop

Im thinking of Microsoft Surface Pro 6 too

Hey guys, need help on deciding a laptop

Budget: <4.5, max 5k

Purpose: Work (mostly word processing and multi-tab internet browsing), occasional video editing, movies and tv shows. gaming is a plus but not necessary.

What I'm looking for:
- be able to run all of the above smoothly
-Decent screen
-Light
- 512gb ssd
-sturdy and somewhat future proof, able to last me a good 3+ years

Very nearly bought the i7 version of the Yoga S730, had almost everything I wanted, but the screen size/aspect ratio is putting me off a bit.

Other I'm considering is the Huawei Matebook Pro X (i5,2018 version as the higher spec one is way out of budget), but this one the specs don't seem as good as the Yoga.

I'm also considering the ASUS Zenbook UX433. This one i feel has the perfect size for me, but I'm not a fan of the design and I've heard many complaints about its build.

Willing to hear any other options as long as they meet my requirements. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

There's an XPS 9370 on the Dell official refurbished website that is for RM 5199, just slightly higher than your budget but maybe you can try asking for discount tongue.gif

1. Budget : Preferably below 2.5k but can stretch to 3k
2. Usage : Mostly media consumption but should be able to play old games (specifically want to be able to play Portal, Half Life 2 series and Portal 2 😁), for newer games I have a PS4, should be able to run Android studio smoothly.
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : 14 to 15 inch display, battery life at least 3 hours, display should be vibrant and not dull, not too heavy but not much preferance for weight

So you need dGPU? Mind non-upgradeable RAM?

Personally I wouldn't recommend Surface products, don't like their anti-consumer behaviour

Vibrant display - you mean high sRGB?

Need dGPU?

Ryzen 2000 series will have less battery life compared to Intel KBL-R/WHL-U, would suggest other models

Preferred max weight and min battery life? Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable RAM?

If can run Android Studio without dedicated GPU then can consider also because I am only going to play older games
