Can accept 17 inch thin bezel?
Can stretch budget by a bit more?
Any preference on weight and battery life?
Which country you going to?
*
If 17 inch thin bezel with light weight, could consider then.
Can't really stretch my budget anymore. Sorry
As light as possible since i gonna carrying on board and might gonna bring to Uni. Battery life: can withstand (3-5 hours) if possible. Just need it during Uni use.
EU country

Max weight in kg?

Which EU country? Asking this bcoz if you plan to buy barebones from Illegear, chances are you need to get support from another reseller if you are in different country

Hey guys, need help on deciding a laptop

Budget: <4.5, max 5k

Purpose: Work (mostly word processing and multi-tab internet browsing), occasional video editing, movies and tv shows. gaming is a plus but not necessary.

What I'm looking for:
- be able to run all of the above smoothly
-Decent screen
-Light
- 512gb ssd
-sturdy and somewhat future proof, able to last me a good 3+ years

Very nearly bought the i7 version of the Yoga S730, had almost everything I wanted, but the screen size/aspect ratio is putting me off a bit.

Other I'm considering is the Huawei Matebook Pro X (i5,2018 version as the higher spec one is way out of budget), but this one the specs don't seem as good as the Yoga.

I'm also considering the ASUS Zenbook UX433. This one i feel has the perfect size for me, but I'm not a fan of the design and I've heard many complaints about its build.

Willing to hear any other options as long as they meet my requirements. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

define 'decent screen' - high sRGB IPS?
define 'light' - max weight in kg?

There's no future proof in laptops. Last 3+ years in terms of reliability or performance?

Yes, preferably with high sRGB but any decent IPS should be fine. And by light i mean something less than 1.3/1.4 kg.

Also, by future proof I meant more in terms of build wise, after few years of i hope not to face too much issues with the hardware and/or the laptop frame (i.e hinges etc).

Hope this helps 😊

Premium business laptop is the better option, though they usually don't look too good
T480 WQHD
T490 400 nits
T480s WQHD
X390

Latitude 7390/7490 also got good display but need to check

Suggest upgrading SSD by yourself

After customizing with the thinkpads on the lenovo site i find them to be above my budget.

if you had to choose between the ASUS Zenbook UX433, yoga S730 or matebook 13 Which do you prefer?

*
1,
On the Shipment Progress "An import license is missing and is required for clearance" and my package (laptop) was left at the customs overnight

2,
The Laptop DELIVERED to me at 05/17/2019,
when I received it, the box is quite dirty (other package from them no this problem)

3,
On the same day after unbox the laptop start using,
getting lag when I install WhatsApp app and iTunes app from window store to my laptop,
then my laptop go to dark screen , mouse clicking and typing no response take few minutes to get back normal...

* above three message i have email to the laptop company

4,
Second day, one day using not sure open an app or play a light racing game or just normal browsing, suddenly go lag then click no response have to press the power button to turn off.

After Few Days using, so far so good not facing long lag, some time short lag got lah

Overall, i like the laptop design, and the fingerprint is fast response, just the laptop sound not that good but is loud.

Quite Satisfied so far.

choose GTX GPU or go for lower end GPU for USB C charging. Choose 1 only
