All with 8750H CPU (needs undervolting, repaste is highly recommended):
1. Illegear Raven with 144Hz IPS - with fan control software
2. Asus GL503GE - need to find good deal
3. Commandos Glock 5 with 120Hz IPS - idle fan noise needs some tuning

For your budget, you won't get a decent laptop with 1060 GPU unless you're willing to sacrifice cooling and some build quality

Hello all, feel free to add your own opinion of what laptop to get

Budget:
3.5k-4.5k, max 5k if really necessary.

Usage: VERY light gaming (oldschool runescape lol), Beginner coding, media consumption.

Requirement:
- Battery life: min 5 hours battery life for light usage. If can go to 7-8 even better
- Display: 13''/15'', preferably 1080p screen to save battery
- Weight: 1.3kg-2kg
- Brand: No preference as long as can last me 3-4 years minimum
- Good keyboard
- No need: touch-screen & convertible/2-in-1

Basically looking for an ultrabook, but not sure what to go. Friends keep recommending me Macbookpro & XPS. Any ideas, sifus?

Do you need dGPU? Do you mind low sRGB display? Do you need macOS?

No one can guarantee a laptop (any brand) can definitely last long, it mainly depends on luck

I probably do not need dGPU for my usage. I don't need macOS and i probably don't mind low sRGB display since my current laptop doesn't have a good display anyway and i'm kinda okay with it.

Between these 2, which is better. I lean more towards Asus due to SSHD inclusion as I'll be using this laptop for a lot of office works & photoshop. Gaming usually FF XV & planning ahead for DMC5. But HP omen has thunderbolt port & 144hz screen. My budget is 5K & if you guys have other recommendations within the price bracket, please suggest away. Tq

Do you really need TB3? Any preference on weight and battery life?

Omen dc only has 144Hz panel in 1060 6GB model (in Malaysia)
