Niece needs a laptop. Need help to find a good one since I no longer have the luxury of time to do my own research.

1. Budget : RM 1,500 max
2. Usage : Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). Web browsing. Whatever typical high school girls use their laptops for.
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Below 15.4". 14" or lower would be better due to weight. No specifics on battery life. Weight ideally under 2kg.

I've done some light search and found this laptop. Is it anygood?

Edit: Main problem I see with this is the abysmal storage size.

For such budget, better get used business laptop with 1 yr warranty. Much better build quality and better performance. Maybe need to add RAM/SSD and new battery

The closest one would be Lenovo Ideapad 720s 13 Ryzen 81BR0054MJ/55MJ (costs 2779 from last time I checked), however battery life is inconsistent (3-7 hrs), CPU performance is below average and the RAM is non-upgradable

Most <1.2kg laptops don't have HDD

(RM2599, last time checked) Acer Swift 3 SF314-54-55JD/57FD/59T5 +RAM, only thing is it has low sRGB IPS

Vivobooks are medicore in general

Inspiron series only 7000 series good IMO, however price is too high for most models

Hi sifus and gurus
Looking for suggestion

Budget: can go till 10k

Usage: Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Ms Sql server Express, Mssql management studio, Virtual Box and maybe some other heavy stuff of software dev tools..
and other basic stuff like chrome, firefox, office

Requirement :As above, can run multiple instance of visual studio (~3), visual studio code, sql management studio concurrently without having no issue of lagging and running IIS at background for testing/debugging..
might also run virtual box for linux at the same time ..

This notebook is planned as one time investment for maybe untill next 5 years...

Currently aiming at Lenovo X1 Carbon 6thgen(i7-8550u,16GBRam, 1Tb M2Nvme ssd) or can push to X1 Extreme(i7-8780H, 32GB Ram, 1Tb M2Nvme ssd) if wallet permit..

Looking for opinion and suggestion
Thanks..

Do you need Quadro? Preferred max weight in kg and min battery life in hours?

FYI it's usually cheaper by upgrading RAM and storage by yourself

Ya Quadro GPU. Does your workload benefit from that?

7-8 hrs of battery life is impossible in heavy load

For such budget, better go used business laptops unless you're fine with Chinese stuffs, 4GB RAM and low/slow storage
