The more you play with them the fastest they'll be closed with you. Take them out to play once you're free but don't hold too long.They tend to nib you to let them go. Try use food to lure them. Hehehe...

haha, thx moli. Juz now i took Meezu out. Her heart beats so fast. I grabbed her then she likes scared and juz stay there and dont move. Then i put her back. Now she is sleeping. *Sigh*

should be a nib, bite will see blood. give them time to know u..

try to use 2 hand to scoop with u canot catch them they run very fast even they know u. if they don't know u hahah run super fast.. as long as not pulling their tail. grap them fast, and put them on ur palm.. let them get use of ur smell 1st. u can put them on the cover n play with them. so they not so stress with new hand holding them.

oh by the way. kibbles if u want to buy 1 bag, go for royal canin cat kibbles. cos dog kibbles is very big bag. if not u can go petshop ask for sample.

That's what I did.. They just smell and run.. I don't want catch them coz still new to my place.. Give 'em time first..
Both keep digging only.. Non-stop.. I put one bowl of food for them.. One night gone already.. All covered by bedding..
Put a lot of hay.. All gone totally ripped off..
That's the problem when you put 5 inches tall bedding..

Dont worry about that. You will get used to them running later. Last time, for me to catch either one, it takes so long..Just get used to how they run and then you will be able to catch them. I still have hard time to catch some of them though..

About the food bowl, nah, i dont bother putting it in now. Just throw the food at the bedding better. The bowl always gone one..LOL..

You even put 5 inch bedding Mine around 2 - 3 inch only..LOL...

I scare they cannot find food that's why..

Hahahaha... Welcome to the family, Amedion... You need some time to get use to their each running style. Later you'll know how to catch 'em. Putting bowl inside just waste of your time & effort. Foo's gerbs like burying their food bowl & eat from bedding. Don't ask me why. Coz i don't know. Lol....

haha, my food bowl also, i only can see bedding inside but dun see any food. Wonder where the food gone. For my bedding, they dig until can see the bottom. And they still keep digging and came out the sound of scratching between the plastic tank and their nails. Is it because of my bedding too little? will it be any harm to the gerbs?

welcome amedion and puffy7....the first time i also have the same probs...hehehe...took me a while to let them adjust 2 them...use kuaci la 2 let them come 2 you(cause i used that)...hehehe...first time will nip everytime one..hehehe..later wont nip but will disturb ur hand if you wanna do something in the cotainer..hehehe

Wow, dig so long. Now my tank become 1 side got bedding 1 side no bedding. But they sleep in the coconut. So cute.

Hahaha... My bf complaint that before last time. That time even had corn cobs inside. He said like machine gun on fired the whole midnight. Then he get used to it & when i took the tank back to my house, he pulak complaint too quiet. Lol...

Nah don't worry about them not climbing up to your hand.. Even some of nezu's gerbils won't climb up her hand. As for mine, I'm having them for almost half a year alrd and they still won't climb up my hand lor... lol.. but at least now when i catch them, they'll stay still on my palm and let me poke them a bit. =P Gerbils are like that.. it's their instinct to run away.

u all really keen for gerbil climb up ur hand ah...this is what u can try...

do it almost the same time.

block an area and make it safe for the gerbil to run free. take them out n let them run free.. do it everyday same time, same thing. after awhile most of them will jump into ur palm once u put in.

this is what i do for my Kokoa..tey it, but make sure u block the area save, and always remember to close ur tank cover or lid tightly. cos they know out there is a bigger world to run.

always play with ur gerbil with open cover, don't use the lid, they learn there is a place can open they will aim n bang on it.

hahhaa.. 'aim and bang it'.. LOLOL... sounds so funny. =P and erm... my gerbils are weird la... i never hear them thump.. as in.. NEVER.. even with a cat around they never do so.
