Hi, I received a call from TM yesterday. I was being told that I will be upgraded very soon and told to ensure my equipment are able to support Gigabit speed. I also did questioned him about the inconsistency regarding the pricing.

His answer was TM is going to review the pricing for each package and make necessary adjustments to a more reasonable price or package. This includes either increase or decrease in speed.

My existing setup for 30 mbps

1. Mikrotik AC HaP router with on FE port connected to BTU
2. D-LINK cylinder shape connected to Mikrotik router and set as AP
3. One cable running down to the living where the Setup box are placed
4. My desktop PC in my room is connected via LAN to 360 router beside the desktop which is connected via WISP to the D-LINK AP/ Mikrotik router.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is how I plan my network once I got my speed upgrade. Considering that pulling cables are so much hassle. I have plan on purchasing two new routers as below

user posted image

RT AC88U will be used as the main router in the room where the BTU is located. AC86U will be placed in my room where my desktop PC and my other devices are. AI Mesh will be used to link them together and my desktop PC will be connected to AC86U via short CAT6 cable.

The existing D-LINK cylinder shape router will be used as a WiFi repeaters and placed in the living

360 router will still be connected to the new router via WISP and broadcast signal at the garage

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A better setup if budget allowed.

1. An additional purchase of HaP mikrotik router with Gigabit port
2. Setup above remain, which RT AC88U will be connected to the Mikrotik router
3. Port 5 of new Mikrotik router is used for Vlan trunking
4. The old mikrotik router will be placed in the living to split IPTV traffic and internet traffic
5. The D-LINK cylinder will be connected to the old Mikrotik router as additional AP.

360 router will still be connected to the new router via WISP and broadcast signal at the garage
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope my above setup will ensure maximum internet speed if I am turbo for 300 /500 / 800mbps for my desktop usage, while 90 +- internet speed in the living room and 50 to 60 outside the house where my Iphone still can be connected to WiFi in the car to stream Spotify or Youtube. Not sure if I am crazy

According to my research AC88U support up to 1 gbps speed on 2.4 GHZ while AC86U support up to 750 mbps speed on 2.4 Ghz network. I think the speed will be quite decent. I hope 5Ghz can reach 800 mbps between two routers

From the first page, it says TP-LINK Archer C1200 can achieve 300Mbps but my Unifi is Turbo'ed to 800Mbps, and I am only getting 170Mbps download speed over cat5e cable.

Any idea?
*
I guess you are connected using WiFi on 2.4 GHZ. Try using 5GHZ or use LAN cable

yup bandwidth is overskill already. I think the 10x upgrade is done by some market exec in upper level that with no idea how the network works. He probably see total average real bandwidth usage vs total infrastructure can support, then judge from there lol.

as for bundle content, perhaps TM should bundle with soemthing popular like netflix/sportify premium at lower price than netflix/sportify charging us individualy. For ex. Mass bundling with netflix should get us cheaper rates than we sub netflix individually. That'll add decent value added service into their broadband package. I'll definately buy into that.

Previously TM did worked with Iflix regarding this. All streamyx and Unifi customers can watch Iflix for free

My Question raised to them

How they replied. I totally puked blood. Their team are still as shitty as before only knows how to copy and paste answers.

Sorry I hardly understand what you trying to say.. What's is your current package now and how much you pay?

What you want to do? Get a turbo speed? Reduce monthly fee?
*
I am trying to say I am paying 199 FOR 30 MBPS which I feel unfair because other users paying the same price for 50 and 100, therefore I am asking them to review the pricing and let me get 500 Mbps turbo or 800 Mbps

probably sweat.gif

when I complained about the unfairness of the different pricing for my accounts vs others on the skmm portal, I also mentioned in another post (in the portal you can add more msgs after the main write up) about not getting all accounts turboed despite paying a premium.
around 8 days later, tm simply emailed me the copy and paste msg about the turbo being in pilot stage blablabla.. completely ignoring the main issue about the unfair pricing  vmad.gif
called skmm and was told to reopen the case on the portal  rclxub.gif
the skmm staff even acknowledge that tm didn't really solve my problem.
*
Me too, they are replying the same thing also. I guess they are given a list of replies and they just choose one that put the best fit which apparently is incorrect

I want to subscribe to Unifi, all the agents and even their website shows that my area is available for Unifi. when I try to register online through unifi.com.my, my address did not show up in the system, all of my neighbors houses is in the system. When I call TM, they said I have to go to TM Point myself. WHen I went to TM point, at first the employee there said that my house is to far away from their port, then they show me their service map, I noticed, there is  a house which is further than my house which have unifi. When I call their lies, they then changed their answer to there is no infrastructure available at our area. The port is full. But I know for sure, there are only a few people that subscribe unifi or even have streamyx at their house.

I've been trying to follow up this issue through several channel of TM/Unifi, Facebook Messenger, TM live Chat and even call. I've been ignored through Facebook Messenger and their TM Live chat and still waiting on customer service

Any advice for me to proceed with this issue.

I got sick and tired waiting to 800mbps turbo, today went to TMpoint and changed my plan to current 100mbps package advertised on their website.

Waited for 40 mins, settled in 10 mins, account updated after 2 hours.
Save RM70 a mth moving forward.

None of my devices can touch 800mbps on wifi so no point to invest in new expensive routers.

Maybe in the future, it support up to Gigabits with WiFi

i guess tm start adjust the pricing , some turboed already get additional discount, may be they try to make the price more standard rather than unfair or funny funny different price.

189 = 800 (ultimate +free call)
179 = 500 (ultimate +free call)
169 = 300 (ultimate +free call)
159 = 100 (ultimate +free call)
129 = 100 (1 package + free call )

I guess many people bring this to MCMC

My intention is not to terminate the service as I do not have alternative options. I just want them to resolve the pricing issue or give a word or promise. Until now they seriously still keep copy and pasting the Turbo Upgrade when I send them that I seriously don't know what to say.

Its not to terminate. This is meant to scare them, telling them u are allowed to terminate without notice but can choose not to. But choosing not to does not affect your right to terminate in future without 30days notice lol

How about:
Providing assurance that I would be selected in the future for a 'turbo upgrade' does not justify the the fact that I am grossly overpaying, given that
1. A 'pilot phase' does not commesurate with contractual liability as tm has no obligation to deliver the said service (pilot turbo phase) despite a premium being paid for it
2. There is no indication or guarantee that I would be selected for turbo upgrade
3. It is unfair for the customer to pay for any intangible benefits of any kind, which includes being selected for a pilot phase (ie turbo upgrade), as a monetary value cannot be ascribed to a service or benefit which tm is under no contractual obligation to deliver
*
Is that necessary ?
