I was wrote a MCMC complaint about this issue too but now already been more than a week. TM never assign my complaint, still in pending status. I was asked the CS in chatroom, they say it is compulsory.

I got kaspersky internet security installed on my PC and they already acknowledge about the speedtest issue back to few years ago. I did search in Google and found many people complaint about Kaspersky Internet Security slow down the speedtest results. Kaspersky official was announced that have to test with larger files since speedtest file is not large enough will results speed degrades.

You can try to disabled or exit your antivirus, internet security software, quit all your steam, download manager. Get "ublock" extension for your Google chrome to block out all the background banner ads in speedtest website.

So now you may retry to do your speedtest.

That's why Ookla collecting our speedtest results.

even now mcmc complaint is not 100% working at all. TM has never assign my complaint, already wait for a week but still no assignee.

I was just made my survey, just write some feedback about their turbo speed stability. Sometimes 300mbps, sometimes 400mbps on speedtest. Results are based LAN connection on my desktop PC.

I was immediately lodge my MCMC complaint after I see your bill, mine is RM179/mth for 500mbps.

there got 2 different hypptv account, one is for stb another one is for phone/tablet. You can't login your hypptv everywhere account on the STB

If I can downgrade to 300mbps@RM139 but currently TM do not offer this plan.
My current 500mbps but torrent speed the maximum I just can get 25MB/s (200mbps).
download movie from web, back to torrent question.
Youtube, my TV only has 1080p
Stream movie, I just stream drama from dramasQ/icdrama. Mostly only have 720p.
netflix/iflix, I do not subscribe to these service.

Download games from steam/ps store. Most of the time can't get full speed on wired connection, mostly 30MB/s.
Stream live TV, I think 100mbps is enough to stream from http://www.mypadtv.com

I'm now building a AiCloud storage for my RT-AC86U, so I can put some important data into my external harddisk then plug it to my router. I just need to visit my DDNS from outdoor to login to my home AiCloud storage to download files directly. No need to subscribe for cloud storage eg. mega.nz, google drive. Since I can put 2TB external harddisk to build my own cloud storage and put anything and upload from everywhere as long as my home AiCloud is active.

Malaysia version is selling the Asia Pacific version but the taobao sellers are selling China version. There have different fixed region serial code behind that router.

I was noticed that the territory code will automatic change back to CN/02 every time after I reboot my router. The Asia Pacific version is booted in AP/01 as default territory code. So we cannot 100% say that local sellers are buying from taobao for resale.

Some of them are selling above RM1,200 for a RT-AC86U, that would probably an Asia Pacific version. Some lazada sellers are selling RM899 that would probably a China version. Since in China is selling CNY899, then import to Malaysia to sell for RM899. CNY899->RM899

TM will only replace is cheap router to you. Their D-Link or TP-Link do not promise to get maximum speed on wifi. My suggestion is better go buy a better RM300~RM500 price range router.

Also buy some cat6 lan cable in the same time.

1. No need, you have to pull LAN cable from 3rd floor to 2nd floor to install 2nd router as AP. Then pull another LAN cable from 2nd floor to Ground floor to install another router as AP to maximize the internet connection speed.

2. For your best experience, my best suggestion is pull cat6 cables from 3rd floor to 2nd and G floors. Then buy another two new gigabit routers to do as access points to extend your home wifi networks.

usually for renovation, all the wiring are using cat6 as minimum standard. They won't use cat5e.
You can request for cat6a or cat7 too if you like.
