I don't have experience with the DSL-AC52U but the VR600V looks better on paper.

anyone here using D-Link 895-L ? Having issues with it with Unifi 500. Signal from router is literally 1 bar, 3-4 meters away from it with no obstruction at 5ghz.

Setting up the router, already notice that its signal is crap. Got it brand new from lazada for RM 829 (thought it was a steal, since I saw the ad on lazada).

After setting up, on 5ghz, getting around 5-10 mbps on wireless AC. Transmission strength is maxed (high) in settings.

2.4 ghz, 1 wall away and i cant see the SSID anymore  doh.gif  doh.gif

Did some reading online and found out its discontinued long ago... yet every 'unifi turbo guide' recommends it for 800mbps  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

Any help will be kindly appreciated.  sad.gif

Hardware is faulty, return it within the 14 days return period.

The DIR-895L is actually quite a decent router.

Called OOKAS D-Link technical support, they told me to 'return it for inspection' even when its DOA  sad.gif
Guess thats the last time i'm ordering from them.  doh.gif

C2300 or C3150? C2300 seems to have a faster dual core CPU vs the C3150. Or maybe the new C2600 (Archer A10) ?
*
Just return under Lazada 14 days return policy if you bought it from Lazada.

C2300 have a newer and faster CPU than C3150. Archer A10 is affordable series, I personally compared it and found that the C2300 actually perform better.

ASUS RT-AC86U is also a good choice if you have the budget for it.

Fw 3.0.0.4 something. After upgrade 5ghz drop, b4 upgrade fw also 5ghz drop. Chinese ver buy from lazada
*
Do you happen to buy a refurbished unit?

I will just avoid China units for now. They seem to have a higher rate of failure than usual.

C3150 is new hardware, and 86U is older tech.
*
FYI, AC86U is having the latest CPU from Broadcom which is faster than C3150. It is in fact a much newer tech than C3150 although it is released before C3150. ASUS always release something before other competitors do.

Not to mention 512MB RAM on the AC86U vs 256MB on the TP-Link C3150.

A comparable model would be Archer C2300 as it comes with the same CPU and 512MB RAM. Although being 3x3, it will outperform the C3150 with a 2x2 or 3x3 device.

Hi, does it mean getting C2300 is better than C3150? My house subscription is 500mbps.

A more practical choice than the C3150. smile.gif

Ok thanks, can I confirm this can receive up to 800mbps max right with all the optimum device.
*
800Mbps on WiFi is almost impossible most of the time no matter what router you use.

But it can handle 800Mbps total speed.

anyone tried totolink routers?
I'm curious about the performance, haven't heard of them before  hmm.gif

Think of it as an even cheaper D-Link.

An even more barebone firmware without good support. smile.gif

Hi on blacktubi tp-link a9 review it says " It has 3 non-removable external antennas and an additional 4th antennas inside for the 2.4Ghz band.", does it mean the external antennas only used for 5g wifi? Do they extend the range of 2.4g wifi?
*
Those are dual band antennas.

Separating antennas for each band don't make it better and more antennas doesn't mean it is better either. Common misconception in WiFi router.

for the router to be Aimesh node.... does this router can be wifi connected to the parent router or must go with LAN?
*
It can use WiFi connectivity as the backhaul. It is possible to use wired backhaul as well.

Archer C60 is similar to the modem given by tm itself rite?
*
There’s no point to buy C60 considering the router given by TM is better.

I would suggest at least the Archer A9.

I am using Mikrotik HAp AC, the 2.4Ghz wireless is totally unusable.. due to a triple story house i require a router with more stable 2.4Ghz AP, any recommendation?
*
ASUS RT-AC86U have one of the best 2.4Ghz performance around.

Or maybe you can consider those used Ruckus AP. They work like magic in a noisy environment and they are fairly cheap now.

where to look for them? locally available?

RT-AC86U is available everywhere.

As for Ruckus, you need to look around. Not easily available since it is enterprise level gear

A lot faster bigger WiFi coverage in our testing.

Am i the only one having problem with 2.4Ghz wifi channel? 5Ghz is perfectly fine tho. Even unifi stock dlink router also have the same problem
*
You are not alone. 2.4Ghz is almost unusable for some users due to bad congestion.

I suggest trying channel 1,6,11 as these are non-overlapping.

Look around for those 2.4Ghz devices that may interfere such as dect phones, baby monitor, microwave oven etc.

hi, my budget around 500+ looking to replace the current stock dlink router

there are several model to be considered, not sure which 1 the best fit for my double storey house, router locate on upstair living hall...now my ipad detected 2.4ghz signal at about 30-50mpbs speed only at downstair while 5ghz hardly detected..my package turbo unifi 500mbps

Not keen on mesh system, prefer one router for all, need for unifi tv also.

1. Asus AC66 AC1750
2. Asus AC58 AC1300
3. Dlink DIR882 AC2600
4. Dlink DIR878 AC1900
4. TP link AC2300 >>>> from the comments seems many recommended this
5. TP link A10

Thanks first...
*
Go for either these 2

TP-Link Archer C2300 for value for money.

ASUS RT-AC86U. The ASUS is better but of course it is much more expensive.

Have experience using TP Link Archer C7 with Unifi 100mbps. Good performance, lousy range, stable.

Today installed Maxis 30 mbps fiber and they gave TP Link Archer C5v... biggest problem is it’s unstable. Will disconnect after a while. Want to upgrade.

What’s a good WiFi router with good range. Budget around RM600~700

Asus RT-AC86U good choice?
Or the TP Link AC2300?

Which has better range and stability.
*
RT-AC86U is one of the consumer routers with the best range in the market right now. Ranked top 5 on SNB.

But make sure you buy local unit. China version are cheaper for a reason. Their transmit power is limited.

QUOTE(FusionXY @ Jun 16 2019, 02:53 PM)
Hi, C2300 is definitely the best choice for your case.
Are you using both Maxis and Unifi?
Or which?

If Maxis, need to reuse old router for VOIP.
Just disable Wi-Fi connection on the main router.
If not using, then use C2300 as main router.

Thanks.
*
Please correct your post.

All TP-Link routers do not support Maxis VOIP on router mode.

Only ASUS routers offer full Maxis VOIP for now.
