How big is your house?

Is it a condo or landed property?

Thanks.

Better to avoid TP-Link AX50. That model have overheat issue. If you are fan of TP-Link, can go for AX20 AX1800 (~around RM279) or can go for AX73 AX5400 (Currently on promo price till 5th Feb. The price is RM399 - RM448). Or you can look out for Asus RT-AX56U AX1800 (~around RM429).
*
Suggest you to buy 2 units RT-AX55.
having promotion right now: https://shopee.com.my/Asus-RT-AX55-AX1800-W...0984.4161367975

the old RT-AC68U can upgrade to latest firmware and get it support on AiMesh.

Heard from my friend, he had nightmare with AX50 within 1st year of purchase. Main issue is overheat problem and ended up he bought AX20. So far AX20 seems to be good according to him.
Not sure, If TP-Link already fix this in newer models. But, I believe AX50 is still in v1 according to their website.
If you have budget to get RT-AX3000, why not consider TP-Link AX73 (AX5400) model? Currently on pre-order with ETA from 8th Feb and their introduce price are so attractive which is RM 399 (with free Tapo P100) or RM448 (with TX50E).
You can look for TP-Link official site at Shopee or Lazada.

Hi everyone

I just bought the Huawei Wifi AX3 to replace the crappy old Netis router from TM because it's just too weak. However, the new router doesn't come with the DSL port which the old router does in order to get connection, am I supposed to get a converter to connect the DSL cable to the WAN port of the new router?

Thank you. smile.gif

You will need to maintain the NETIS as the modem or use any VDSL modem.

You cant just convert the RJ11 to RJ45 port.

I see, if I'm gonna be using the NETIS as the modem, I'm also supposed to plug the existing LAN cable from the NETIS to the WAN port of the Huawei router right?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, never changed routers on my own before. sweat.gif

My current plan is unifi 800mbps

Current setup Tenda AC1900.

Current speed test:

Ground floor 2.4GHz: 120mbps
Ground floor 5GHz: 285mbps

Second floor 2.4GHz: 45mbps
Second floor 5GHz: NA

Would like to increase the speed at 2nd floor.

2 options:
1) TP link Ax5400 AX73.

But worried the coverage won't be as good since it's not mesh setup. If I'm ever gonna do onemesh, only repeater could be added.

2) Asus Ax1800 RT-Ax55 x2 to do AiMesh.

Any suggestions guys?
