deadangel, i thought you just started your braces? So fast already installing screws ah? Hmm but most of the time, its the wisdom tooth that is extracted one.

livon6699, ah Dr David at ampang is one good one too ! I wanted to do it there but Dr David isn't so active anymore, his nephew takes all the new cases.

deadangel, don't worry ! When it is tight, you should feel happy cause your teeth is moving biggrin.gif My lips also feels very dry since I started having braces. Go and use a good lip balm more often. Yes yes in the beginning Dr How is more unfriendly. But just try to talk to him more, then he become quite nice leh! hahah I felt the same way in the beginning too biggrin.gif Normally you will know if you grind your teeth, cause you're half conscious one. The tight feeling in the morning is due to the braces.

Sherelyn, no I have not told doctor about it. It never crossed my mind to ask, heh maybe I should do it the next appointment! Don't worry babe, just get yourself to be more brave, it may be quite a long journey but I'm telling you, its really worth it smile.gif Trust us all ! heh

livon6699, greet him nicely and talk about the progress of your teeth (but not in an interrogating way) ? hahah i think during that 4months, he'll just leave your braces since doctors in other country won't want to take over a halfway case. 2.5 years does sound quite long, but after this period, never in your life again would you have to wear braces biggrin.gif

FOnte, it depends if you dislike your chubby cheeks or not. For mine, I really dislike my jaw shape so I allow him to extract 2 wisdom and 2 on the upper jaw (also the last tooth). From my experience of asking 2 dentist, the wisdom tooth doesn't serve much of a purpose, so you're not losing out by extracting this. Then again, its always personal preference that matters smile.gif

bauTan, by facial asymmetry do you mean my chin goes more to one side?

livon6699, better not ask him to speed up the progress =x I'm scared that it won't turn out as good as when you follow the proper time =/ I started power chain after 1 year and 3 months!!

bauTan, ah yes, mine shifts towards the right side. It is still imbalanced right now, but it doesn't look so obvious anymore because my jawline is more defined now. heh I hope by the end of my treatment, it will be very minimal!

FOnte, ohh no sad.gif no wonder you need more time to think ! Try asking him instead of that, any other alternatives?

tomatonz, ohh ! so you have not repositioned your screws before! Dr How told me he will have to reposition mine in the future sad.gif So upsetting, again he's gonna insert them in some other places. I didn't feel any pain ever since getting the power chain though, both upper and lower. Oh hahaha teeth will get shorter? I hope you're smiling more often now! I will start smiling more when I have a nice smile soon! heh

bauTan, my lower jaw moved but I don't know whats the reason. Probably because of biting my nails too much when I was younger.

livon6699, hahah congrats that you went through it ! Normally the normal tooth are not that painful. Only the surgical part to remove the wisdom hurts quite a bit smile.gif what is "shao nga" yea?

Sherelyn, you're most welcome !

FOnte, which teeth did he ask you to extract? if its not wisdom tooth, you don't have to worry ! really not painful one =x its only the surgery to remove the wisdom tooth that is painful. heh my progress is good although i have about half a year left but i'm already impatient to remove my braces! my tongue has been sore from cleaning my braces after meal sad.gif

Jim.tan, painkiller is the best way. Its more like the uncomfort that leads to sort of a headache for me! I always take painkiller wink.gif If it's not that severe, panadol acti-fast helps too!

deadangel, ahaha you're so lucky ! I haven't been on this thread in awhile but I came today and saw your question. Yes dear, one of my screw went goyang goyang cause when doctor installed it, I was scared and abit freaked out like you. So maybe the screw didn't go in enough thats why it goyang. Don't wanna make you upset but he will reposition your screw which means take out and screw it in another place again.

I have 4 screws in my mouth, 2 already repositioned, 2 more left for repositioning. So altogether, 8 times of torture sad.gif OhmyGod! Can't wait for this to end!!!

fion@gem Damon is stronger and gives better result. Rm5.5k doesnt sound too cheap for normal braces. My damon cost me RM6k. What do you mean by everything? If you're talking about inclusive of extraction of wisdom tooth and screws, then it might be reasonable. But why don't you do Damon instead? I would spend the extra cash for better results since you only put on braces once in a lifetime. smile.gif

Hahaha relax darling, don't faint ! No matter what, you have to go through it, no choice right. Besides you're already paying for the braces treatment, better go all the way. Usually he will reposition cause if its goyang, then it won't be doing its work of 'pushing' the teeth right. Maybe also cause you don't have too many bones around that area, its hard to stay sturdy between the gums. It's okay, just ask him during your next visit, no harm!

I got mine repositioned to do their job at different areas. hahah complicating. Btw is your screw up or bottom ?

tinybee, braces.makes.a.whole.lot.of.difference. trust me! if you're not tight on budget, seriously I'll say go for it. you will only look better smile.gif

phantom annonymous, Dr How in bangsar accepts payment everytime I visit. It's gonna be like 6k divided by 14 visits which comes up to about RM375 per time I think. I'm sure 1500 is enough for the first visit.

mengher, i used to be on rubber bands for awhile but I hate hate them ! generally im afraid of rubber bands snapping tongue.gif use a pair of tweezers babe! its much much easier to put it on that way. change once in maybe 3-4 days? smile.gif hope this helps ! oh because i hated them, i asked to change it into wires the following appointment ! so much easier cause I don't have to change the rubber bands !

don't worry girls. not painful one all the powerchains and all. the only painful thing is removal of wisdom tooth and inserting screws (i think i got used to having my screws re-placed now).

Ah I told him, i can't put my rubber bands cause I'm too scared. and then there is a gap there. so he put springs for me smile.gif they are like rubber bands, but they are forever there. if you have already mastered the rubber band, i don't think you need the springs then !
