hi nikki,

yup i have the dental wax but then im afraid i will accidentally swallow it when i'm eating or drinking something..

am using the self-ligating one which i think it's also known as the damon one rite..

also, i'm feeling the pain already which i guess my teeth is starting to move rite? i can hardly eat anything sad.gif

by the way, the whole process costs me about RM5600 inclusive of tooth extraction and xray..not sure if the retainer is included or not..

is the price reasonable? didn't really do much research on the price though..
*
I think for damon is consider cheap cos I did mine for 5.8k excluding retainer, xray and extraction...

Nikki and Ken,

Thanks for the sharing and encouragement! I've been eating porridge for 4 meals now... Not sure how long I can stand this. Hopefully the pain won't last for too long.

Now I'm practising how to smile without showing teeth. I feel ashame to let ppl c my braces. I should have done this much earlier, when I was still in school. Now I'm working and old already. This is even worse as compared to school time. If I've kids in the future and their teeth are not nice, for sure I'll send them for braces as young as possible.

By the way, I have asked about the difference between Damon 3 and Damon MX in my earlier post. I found the answer in a website. Damon 3 and Damon 3MX are 2 different products. Mine should be Damon 3MX. Here's the link to the website:

Damon 3
Damon 3MX

If I understand Dr. How correctly, he mentioned that Damon 3 is not a good product because the brackets tend to break easily. Damon 3MX is better and more solid.

Ken,
Can't c ur photo clearly on page 1 ler. Any clearer b4 and after photos?

Nikki,
How's the progress of your braces? I've read some of your earlier post. You have ur braces on for around 8 months already right? How's it so far? Any obvious movement? Any photos to post?

Thanks!

Ohh....now i understand d... my upper one is using damon 3 and lower is damon mx... Yeah my doc also told me the same, damon 3 has many prob especially easily broke off...like mine already broke after one day installed... doh.gif so my doc wil put damon mx to replace it...

No need to feel shame la...I smile big big also to show my braces... sumtimes feel proud also haha..cos I have sumthing and experiencing sumthing that other ppl will never have.... right? brows.gif

Nikki,
so kesian ur mum cook all the hard food for u... Luckily my mum is being very understanding...cook all the food longer so it bcome softer for me... then now my family all eat vege tat cooked extra soft together with me... only sumtimes my mum wil say i very mah fan smile.gif

From what I understand, deep bite is when you bite, your upper front teeth cover your lower front teeth more than they should be.

Maybe other ppl here can explain this better than me.

Isnt normal that our upper one cover abit over the lower one??

normal one shud touch each other one ah? shocking.gif

i also never floss before in my life before braces. After braces, initially i just flossed once a while because my teeth was still weak so i find it painful to floss.. but now i floss almost every day but i'm getting lazier. lol. the nurse told me that it is a must to floss EVERY DAY  wor ..haih sad.gif  But i like the feeling after flossing coz it is refreshing.. hehe.. but it seriously takes too much work!
*
yeah juz use the straight one as ur teeth havent tidy up yet.. I only floss when there's stubborn food really stuck between my teeth...it's very tiring oh and take time also.. My doc advise me to floss only the food cannot be removed by brushing.. duno why ur nurse ask u floss everyday... rclxub.gif

you use mouth wash everyday? I never use it wor.. What is the advantage of using it ah?

I juz noticed that some of my teeth got stain like black color behind my teeth...couldnt remove it.. Im so worried now! sad.gif Anyone can advise why is it so?

Dont worry... all these stains were already there long time ago when your teeth were crowded. The stain happened to be there when u couldnt brush  some area that you cant see. And now that your teeth are straighter, the stain shows.

Ask doctor to remove it if it bothers you too much or go for scalling/polish. I had one stained teeth also. It shows when my teeth got straighter. I told doctor about the stain. He said its ok.

But its too disturbing to me... At the end, i managed to removed it myself... Hahaha... The stain is something like plaque, i think. But if you're not sure how to remove, its better to get professional help lo. Dont hurt yourself.

thanks nikki... I am looking forward to see my doc this coming sat.... I feel no mood when looking at the mirror seeing my teeth like tat... so worried cry.gif

That's really expensive for just getting braces done. I've finished mine with half the price. I could have finished it within 2 years but I went overseas to study so for one whole year I had to tie a rubber every night until I went back for summer holiday. I'm satisfied with mine!!
The pain was worth it. I had to have porridge for the first few days of each appointment I attend to. I didn't quite bother about decoloration. I had almost any food but I tried avoiding chewing gums and gas drinks. The acid in gas drinks might dissolve the glue.
A strong reminder to fellow bracerians is please use the small toothbrush of Oral B to clean the gap in between brackets. You don't wanna have your gums swell and look horrible after finishing your term. My teeth became yellowish after having braces but now it's whitening again. So nothing much to worry.
No pain no gain. smile.gif
*
you do whitening after take off ur braces?

Wow. Tell them it's definitely necessary girl. For my case, both my parents insisted that I put on braces although mine wasn't that serious. My dad said it's important that one's teeth is presentable. It makes a difference somehow. And I'm happy with how my teeth looks like now. You have nice teeth ---> you become more confident ----> you smile more -----> people perceive that you're friendly and sweet (just some sort of philosophy to convince parents). lol

Totally agreed with you. Before this my life was a full of darkness... laugh.gif

*
Yup!! my upper teeth need space to move inside cos too protruding out d..so need to grind like 6 of my upper teeth.. this is the last choice of no choice.. the process of grinding teeth is very scary ler..! sweat.gif its like the blade cutting ur gum.....now think back also takut ah!

nikki, i find is kinda difficult to brush the gap between each teeth after putting on the rubber.. even using the interdental also hard to go in leh.. Is the rubber wil change color if we eat sumthing which easily stain on the teeth.. like curry or coffee?

So which type? Basically I uses (A) to close gaps. Gaps from extraction. This rubberband will stain a little but not obvious. and its only happen at the back. So the stain part usually wont show.

However, to those traditional metal braces wearer, u will have the (B) type. Damon and In-ovation wont have these. This is the type where u get to choose different color every month.

As for C. I wore this b4 in the beginning. This is an express alignment tool. When i have these, my teeth move into position so fast and soon u hav straight teeth already. There are different color for this also. I had transparent and it stain super fast and i always ended up with yellow teeth looking. To be exact, the rubber got yellow, not my teeth. Doctor also used this to hook it on my teeth to my screws. To my gum treatment.

Leng Leng, if u are refering to (A), when brushing ur teeth, just take out the rubberband and brush. After that, put it back on... But if u are tlking abt ©, hahaha...good luck. Its memang difficult to brush. During my time, at some teeth, i cant even push the interdental brush in it. Cos its too narrow in space.
*
Nikki...thanks for ur pics!!

Im having the C type. Really hard to brush ler and i notice the color started to change frm white to abit yellowish d... sobs cry.gif

So the C type is call Powerchain kah? all the while i duno wut ppl talking bout powerchain.. now with ur pics I can have better understanding liao... hehe

I use the super small interdental brush which bought frm Daiso to clean between the gaps n the rubber...I find the food is more easier to get stucked with the rubber installed...aikss doh.gif now after eating I lagi dare not open my mouth without brushing my teeth... laugh.gif

Nikki, thanks for the photos. Previously I thought you all were talking about separator tongue.gif

Referring to the photos, I'm having C now. Dr How chooses gray colour for me and it doesn't stain.
