Dr. How explain the things they use on you? How come he did not explain to me? I got to know the name by eavesdropping what he told the nurse/assistant. He did not explain to me.... It makes me feel very insecured and uncomfortable because I do not know what is he doing to my teeth... Even when I ask, he gives me very short answers. Maybe he has too many patient to attend to, no time to explain to me... sad.gif

My last appointment was last Saturday, dr repositioned 4 brackets and put 4 powerchain at upper, 7 powerchain at lower. My gum has been bleeding quite a lot since Saturday, going to c dr again today to check if everything is ok.

Added on December 15, 2009, 11:32 am

I think the default colour of powerchain tat doc chooses for u depends on the type of braces u are having. If you are using transparent/ceramic type, doc will give u transparent powerchain. As for my case, I'm using damon 3mx metal, tat's y doc choose gray powerchain for me.
*
my doc din explain much to me leh.. yalor felt kinda insecure n when i asked she also gave me short answer n din explain further.. maybe she's too busy cos i always arrange my appmt on Sat...weekdays hv to work ma no choice...

im using damon also.. but my doc choose a transparent type for me wor..

Got different color wan...u try to ask ur doctor...if u hav the transparent wan, stay away from curry or anything with kunyit...it will stain it...and its horrible.

Actually i wonder why doctor didnt tell u or explain the things they use on u... my doctor will tell us the name of the things....thats why i know the names... and yes, its powerchain...however, some powerchain or in metal. doctor will twist the metal around brackets to tighten the whole jaw.
*
ohhh...icic..now the color turn into yellowish also quite horrible for me liao...aihh wut to do...juz let it be lah..

yaya i have one metal one for my both front teeth.. now u mention only I know its existence.. aiks my doc nvr tell me wut she put n why she put...

Hey guys, been here many months ago. That time I havent decide whether I should go ahead and do it.. Just make an app with the doc last week and will be putting on the braces in mid January. Anyway, I need to extract four of my white gigi..but I guess it for the good.

Much to learn from the seniors here.
*
You've made the right decision.. I extracted 3 gigi also.. nth to be worried bout the extraction no pain at all.. we all here are to supporting each other and shares experience.. smile.gif

Hey guys I will be putting my braces on next week. My gums are aching right now due to the dental separators between my molars. Can hardly chew right now. And I still need to deal with these separators for few more days. I can't imagine how will i feel after putting the braces on.
*
oh ya lor the separators somehow i feel it's more pain than putting on the braces ler.. After install the braces for me only the tightness n numb feeling and it was stil bearable.. n that's only for few days juz take some soft food wil do.. after tht u can eat other stuff as usual.. I think the traditional type is pain one lor.. If damon is very ok for me hehe.. Good luck dear! brows.gif

Hmm...i dont think so. What my doc did to me was just to install two screws and attached powerchain from brackets to screws to sort of hang up my upper gum cos i show too much also. Thats it. After few months i tend to show lesser.

Added on January 12, 2010, 9:32 amAnywayz, I went for appt last night. Doctor did something to my teeth. He re-positioned a few brackets, Changed wire and also added a metal powerchain at my bottom, only two teeth. i didnt ask why cos i only realise it after i left the clinic.

And gosh, i feel so bloody tight. So numb, brush teeth also i feel geli. Cant bite properly also. So tired le my teeth.
*
nikki, ur doc also never tell and explain what he will do to u?

hello everyone!
i'm actually considering to wear braces now.
can anyone recommend any good dentist wich do braces for rm3-4.5k? (preferably damon type.)
i live in setapak area.tq!
*
yeah i think with ur budget only can option for traditional type...

But in my point of view, its worth to pay more to choose a better type of braces.. you wont regret.. biggrin.gif

Sorry, I did not make myself clear enough. I mean if there are any latest photos that show latest progress. Not those that the seniors have already uploaded previously. Anyway, it's ok if it's a hassle to upload photo.

As for the orthodontist and dentist terms, I notice there are many dentists out there who perform orthodontics treatments as well. Any general dentist who has taken the short orthodontics course can actually do that, normally at lower cost. However, I would still prefer to go to orthodontist. Here's a website to search for orthodontists in Malaysia.

Malaysian Association of Orthodontists
*
I will upload my pic that shows the progress later abit... hehe blush.gif

TaddaaaAAaaaa~~~!!!

Here's my pic as per requsted.... (sorry some of the pics are quite blur hehe)

Unbelievable!!! You actually achieved such results in less than a year??!!!

My case is a minor problem, that's y i've been considering whether to do it or not for >10 years. Now old already (28 yrs old) only decided to do it.

Your case is much more worthy, almost same price for such transformation. Really amazing! Feel excited for you! Gambate!
*
haha ya lor more worthy rite.. I also feel excited hehe..

Hmm...i tot for Damon it is normal to see faster result? cos already paid so much my expectation is also there lor...

i read in the forum and in some article saying that if you are wearing Damon braces, teeth extraction is not required. I would just like to know if there is a case where the person is wearing Damon Braces but also required to extract 4 teeth?
*

Yes, I agree with NikkiDaTeddy about using toothpick...

I have been using  inter-dental brush to brush some hard reach place but most of the time when I go out for a meal, i wont bring it with me. But my bf has a small bag of toothpicks stored in his car cuz he uses it after meals. Then I pun use it and find it very very handy than the brush haha... and not to forget, faster and cheaper...
*
yeah i bring toothpick with me all the timey also.. convenient..
and i bought those small size of interdental brush from Daiso (recommended by Nikki)... very useful too.. brows.gif

I just cant wait for 15th July! It's my big day for debrace and I cant help myself for getting over excited~~laugh.gif
