6hr of SOT on 1+6? how can it be? i only got like 5hr since early morning 9pm.

i am consider moderate user, i turn on wifi, data, gps, bluetooth and every half an hour email sync. Maybe will play some game if work till very sien.

but with my iphone x (that currently sleep inside my drawer), i can last one whole day with same usage and iphone email is all time email sync instead of half an hour refresh.
*
I consistently get 6 hrs + SOT on my op6. Mixture of using LTE and WiFi.
WiFi is always on.

If you switch off sync, location and Bluetooth, I guess can hit 6 hours already

As a fellow iNimal with an Xs Max, I couldn't agree more. It's getting ridiculous to pay the amount for an iPhone these days, but it is what it is when you are invested in the ecosystem. This is something Droid makers need to understand and not blindly up their prices to compete with Apple. A lot of Apple users are paying for the experience, not the hardware.

Anyway, I've got an eye on a OnePlus device as I've not tried Oxygen OS before, but maybe will wait for the 6 to drop further in price instead.
*
No offence meant by the term BTW lol, just bringing all the iSheep, iRabbit, i-"insert animal here" terms to its logical conclusion lol.

TBH, if you look closely enough Sammy is also trying to go the "ecosystem" route and I don't think it's working out that well for them either so I don't really think that's the entire story.

But yeah, like I initially mentioned, once you put the price (and illogical Apple restrictions aside), the X (and entire series by extension) is a pretty well sorted out device - especially on the "experience" side, as you yourself have mentioned.

QUOTE(limyuyang @ Oct 30 2018, 10:14 AM)
Did you turn on your sync ?? I cant really reach 4 hours of sot if i have my sync onĀ  sad.gif , but with sync turned off, easily can hit 4-5 hrs
*
Sync/BT on, email/SNS syncing as usual (instant push), no "advanced optimizations" on.

But I'm running mainly underclocked with a custom kernel (plus other Mods) so that might be a thing also. With all that I usually get around 5h+ SOT under heavy "surfing and SNS" loads.

Then again, do remember that SOT can be pretty subjective.

EMUI is horrendous. And yes I've used Huawei flagships. Nice specs and nice camera... Horrendous software
*
Not sure what is horrendous about it. Used it before. No issues.

I actually wouldn't call it horrendous myself, but it sure isn't "light" either. Also, Huawei internals can be a bit suspect - Bluetooth for example, never quite worked as well on Kirins compared to Snapdragon/Exynos devices (in both range and connection stability). Not entirely sure why either.

The build quality on those new M20s though. Fuuuuh, damn if they didn't nail those things tight and solid.

But since Hua-my-way-or-the-highway has locked bootloaders permanently I don't think I'll ever go back to a HuaHonor device again - despite whatever folks has to say about "the death of rooting".

At least not for now.

will OP6T's gameboost and new gesture implement in OP6 too?
*
Most like the new gesture will come trickling down to the OP6 and other Oneplus iterations later. Not sure about Gameboost though.

hrm, increased price, removed led notification, headphone jack, and in display fpr which means front fpr..
*
I dont know why they removed the led notification and headphone jacks which are really useful features. FP unlock is not really a deal breaker as it is often perceived as slow and innacurate on the OPPO R7. Not sure if Oneplus managed to remedy that or not.

Andddd... that was surprisingly not much of a surprise. The extra battery life is nice though, the lack of any upgraded charging tech or waterproofing is less so.
*
More inclined to wait for the One Plus 7 now although the 6T would be a huge upgrade from my OPO3 which is really laggy now.

Wow... RM2588 is a hard sell considering the Note 9 can be bought at RM2600
*
Note 9 has the S Pen, ip68, dual front facing speakers and a bigger battery.

However, the One Plus 6T will be much smoother/more responsive than the Note 9 hmm.gif

None taken laugh.gif Ya, the ecosystem thing and experience is more important for some over the latest hardware bling.

Ya, that's what I wanna try - Oxygen OS. I've had my fair share of TouchWiz or Samsung UX or Samsung Experience or whatever they call it now...

after switching to 5T and 6 i find myself never really look at SOT anymore.. i have two dash chargers, one for work and one for home use, and whenever it drops to ard 30% i will simply plug it in for 20 mins and it will be around 80/90%.. sometimes i need to charge twice, 20 mins each time if i play mobile games a lot.. its a peace of mind not caring about sot anymore, since the charging speed is so fast.

skipping 6T for now and might consider 7 / 7T, few reasons are because

No 50W Dash Charge as Oppo are using the Super VOOC on their flagship already, 0-100% ( 3200mAh ) in 35min

I think they will improve the screen unlock with even better speed and reliability on their 7 / 7T

Same old SD845, yes it is a really good and capable chipset, but the next SD8150 will be even better, based on 7nm built.

Might as well they will get rid of the notch and end up like the Mi Mix 3, I still prefer a notchless phone

Wireless charging, maybe ?

Official IP rating, hope so.

I'm used to having the LED light notification too. Space constraint I guess but the best remedy now is the Always On Display.

I share your thoughts as well but add one more thing + front facing stereo speakers.

I think we have a good chance of seeing the front camera + sensors under the display + the entire screen acting as a speaker + ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in the 7T or 8 perhaps.

yea good idea too, but front camera under the display ? I don't think they have such technology right now, maybe in the future.

6T has no LED notification right ? That's a bummer for me, my phones always have LED notification. Hopefully they add it back on the next one.

Exactly, kind of disappointed they removed the headphone jack. Apparently the ceo based this decision on a poll they made of oneplus users where more than 50% owned bt headphones.
The FP kinda slow imo, just based on observation from all of the YouTube vids.
In the end even with in display fp sensor, they still ended up with a notch sweat.gif which kinda defeats the purpose.

op6t don't have AOD, because of the battery issue, they disabled it, but vivo v11(tear down display) got led notification, tiny one

Right. I dont even have to wake up the phone to know if I have a message or missed a call. If you want the 6T, you would have to wait for the AP sets to bring down the price. My sets are really priced through the roof through the official distributors here.

Like I mentioned, this is to make you buy their Bullets headphones. They are moving in the same direction like Apple. Business is business.
Regarding FP, who needs it when you have super fast face recognition unlock which I use all the time. If you ask me, screen FP is just another fad which Oneplus will have to undertake to differentiate the OP6 and OP6T. To justify buying the 6T.
