do you think i should wait for 6t to come out before deciding which one of the two i should buy? and maybe the price of OP6 would go down too?

QUOTE(wo0ho0o @ Sep 28 2018, 07:46 PM) Yep. Jack and slightly smaller body VS wireless charging (possibly), in-display FPS (probably slower), slightly bigger batt and tiny notch. Your call shinichi31. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 28 2018, 08:12 PM |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 28 2018, 08:11 PM) Yep. Because right now I'm thinking of either OP6 or P20 because their prices are basically the same (my interest is just the camera. I dont really care about other things). Slightly leaning towards P20 since I'm already used to EMUI (currently using P9 lite). But after reading and watching reviews and comparisons, OP6 seems like the better deal. I guess I'll wait and see what 6t brings? if not I'll just pull the trigger on OP6 and hope for OP6 price drop.Jack and slightly smaller body VS wireless charging (possibly), in-display FPS (probably slower), slightly bigger batt and tiny notch. I'd say the simple deal is OP6 for video (4k60 mmmm) and P20 for photos, but coming from EMUI myself (long time Honor 8 user before), I honestly found OOS to be a whole lot sleeker, faster and easier to keep up-to-date (even though I'm sticking to Oreo for now). And easier to root too if that's more your drift, since Huawei went full retard in locking the bootloader from the P20 forward (not that there aren't ways to circumvent that but it's probably more hassle than it's worth). Banking apps still work fine while rooted too (thanks to Magisk hide, just in case you're thinking of doing it) but you lose your Widevine L1 cert (for HD Netflix) the moment you unlock unfortunately. Plus if you're rooted, GCam and Camera M (a Magisk module with the ability to tune the heavy-handed OP6 camera sharpening and noise reduction) makes the OP6 cam a whole lot more competitive (though to be completely honest the P20 still pulls ahead even then). But if we stick to the basics, yeah, OP6 for video and P20 for photos... and the 6T if you don't care about the jack (and the possible hike in price). The only thing making me second guess the P20 is the video capability. I'd really love to get stabilized 4k video which OP6 has (but P20 nightshot is just too good to pass on). I guess my mind is set on OP6 for now and see what 6T brings before getting OP6. Thanks again! And easier to root too if that's more your drift, since Huawei went full retard in locking the bootloader from the P20 forward (not that there aren't ways to circumvent that but it's probably more hassle than it's worth). I always record video with 4k60, 1 minute video about 1GB file, transfer to PC and use Handbrake to convert it into 1080p60 x265 for archive, size become less than 50MB. |

QUOTE(wo0ho0o @ Sep 28 2018, 10:09 PM) If cam is ur only concern than dun buy op6… not even the 6t… and no dun buy huawei kirin soc they suck imho… just get the cam that every tech utuber has praise… the google pixel… the new pixel is also launching soon… good luck Expect to pay Iphone prices for the Pixel 3. I'd say, if camera is the main priority, get the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or S9. The camera under Samsung's flagship would be comparable to the pixels. |
