QUOTE(klmt @ Jun 25 2007, 12:33 PM) The 'fight' is tremendously strong. It was a great experience. It reminds me of pulling an Alsation (police dog) ... no joke. U reel her in once (1 round of reeling in), she stripe our line about 4 - 5 rounds ... just imagine. Thanks to daddy for giving me a chance to feel the 'fight' although I know you were actually tired. Bro KLMT,Added on June 25, 2007, 12:36 pm Up to you bro ... I'm almost ready anytime ... still have about 3 months before the season starts ... hehe I have intention to recce Spot 1, if you permit....or we can go to R since you guys caught some great stuffs |

Bro Ice, SiC guide have dropped price...
you can get a full set of Fuji SiC with about Rm130, as for taiwanese SiC, prolly about RM50~60 only.. Suggest that you change the whole set of guides |

better not take the chances....usually when you go hunting, you take a slightly heavier rod rating...
those that can take trashing and great performing ones.. |

strongly advise rapala rods...HMX is good too....
if you have limitation budget, take Rapala if you have budget for HMX, then go ahead with it. |

QUOTE(nicotine @ Jun 25 2007, 10:12 PM) err bos, not linggi actually... it's somewhere after port d****son blue lagoon, i depart from tanjung agas jetty. =) as for jigging i'm cant really confirm with u ler.. i tried once but not really laku ler .. Thank you bro Nicotine for the elaborationi can ask my fren to arrange that for you guys, but no weekend trip la.. he he coz the owner itself gonna go fishing with his kaki's. Only weekdays trip were avaliable. some info- - Depart around 6 or 7 pm after dinner session at a local mamak stall. - Reach sotong spot around 8 or 9pm, start to catch sotong and the time frame.. hrmm subjective n depends on how much we could stockpile for that nite. - Kapal karam jepun - require around 2-3 hours of ride. (depth 180-190Ft) *Target species big size grouper, jernahak, barracuda and once in the blue moon some manta ray would bite. So far only 1 manta ray around 50kg++ being caught by one unker, the rest well... all either line snap or the angler itself "kondem" and gave up. but recently there were some s0hai nelayan use pukat tunda on that spot and had it's net sangkut the shipwreck, covering either part or whole ship with net .. and condemning the marine life ecosystem. - Kapal karam kayu/tonkang - require around 1-2 hour of ride(depth 190-200ft) *Target species - table size angjo 1-3kg -Karang Gerbok/gt - require 1-2 hour of ride (depth unknown but not as deep as those 2 lubuk above la. *Target species big mama angjo, ikan merah, and GT, anyway GT not always available, only avaliable on the 7th-9th day of chinese new year but there's some stray GT around 5-8kg roaming around once in a while. Size of gt caught before by those unkers, 8 kilo and above some unker recorded around 30kg++ ... - Tanjung tuan - require around 1 hour of ride (depth unknown) *Target species table sized angjo around 1-2kg. other's * Fishing method bottom * Bait - Fresh ocean squid or todak * Line - min 65lb braid, recommended 80lbs braid, hell lot's of sangkut, say bye bye to your sinker, line spreader, hook and leader if you are using anything less then 50lbs braid. (sinker no18 = 6 buck + spreader rm 2.5 + hook = 8~9buck gone if sangkut) * Leader - 12-14" of 50lbs wireline and 7-9ft of 50lbs mono leader. * Rod - any rod rated 8kg and above would be fine. (your own preference) * Reel - you want fast retrieve then get 6.2:1 reel like mine. (sinker is heavy ahh. tarak energy to crank up .. hrmmm or perhaps i'm lazy =) * Misc- stock yourself at least 2 pack of marlboro light, some clorects candy for vomiting issue, 3 cans of nescafe latte and some livita honey for the long nite, and some optional porn vid to release tension on a dull nite la. * Max 6 pax but sort of crowded when doing bottom lar .. line tangling issue so the best would be 5 pax. *charges, around 400-500 per boat (to be confirm) * Pantang (if you guys going on his boat)- don't ask tekong "where we were going to fish ?" just tell him, tekong bawa kita olang pegi tempat yang ada ikan =) Yes we are keen, but is it possible to persuade the boatman to do weekends? This boatman does only night fishing? What about day fishing? If night fishing got spot lights or not? Added on June 26, 2007, 1:36 pmfor light casting in saltwater...toman setup can lar..with 20lb line about 200m enough liao For light jigging, pe1~3 with 20lb about 200 also enough. Jig weight about 40~60~80grams la. Fish size about 5kg average mid jigging Pe2~5 or pe 3max with 30lb about 200 or 300m. Jig weight about 100~250grams This post has been edited by rorytate: Jun 26 2007, 01:36 PM |
