Very simple to check.

Open Window task manager, go to CPU section, change graph to One Graph Per CPU.

Run your iperf again (PC <--LAN--> Router <--LAN--> Laptop)

Take a good luck on the windows task manager CPU utilization during Iperf test.

Definitely not on wireless. Maybe my AC1200 unit unable to reach 800Mbps on wired. Even updated the firmware, no changes. Thus, decided to replace the router.
*
Strange indeed.
You should be able to get 800Mbps on wired for TP Link C1200 with NAT Boost enabled. hmm.gif

Let see Doraku Iperf result later..... hmm.gif

Yeah, I was puzzled too. Disabled QoS and NAT Boost at one point, and still capped at 300Mbps wired. Was frustrated many said able to achieve 800Mbps wired, I replace with C2300, till now no problem achieving full speed. Let's see others able to achieve that speed on AC1200. Otherwise would raise red flags for others to replace immediately, dont want to do that. Lol
*
Normally after disabling QOS, and enabling NAT Boost back, a reboot is required for the router. nod.gif

Since you already bought C2300, enjoy it. thumbsup.gif

Doraku case.....I suspect it to be bottleneck caused by spectre and meltdown patches.

Good day Mr JohnLai, I finally got the results you requested sweat.gif

Equipment:
BTU - Nokia G-240G-E
Router - Dlink DIR850L tabung (I know, I know, I'm getting a new one soon, LOL!! biggrin.gif )
Cables - Dintek Cat6
Speed - Turbo'd 500Mbps

*
Turbo 500Mbps, yet only get 320Mbps top

IPv4 and IPv6 results indicated NAT Boost is working just fine.

Just a quick test:

Open windows task manager and go to CPU section, change the graph to 'One Graph Per CPU'.
Then please run TM speedtest http://speedtest.tm.com.my/ via LAN cable and monitor the CPU usage.

Just wanna check if you have one cpu core being maxed during data transfer....... hmm.gif

since my unifi turbo-ed by TM to 500Mbps, thinking of upgrading my current router which is DIR-850L, but i dont know which one is better in terms of stability and wifi performance  between these 4 routers (RM500 - RM600)

1. D-LINK AC1900 DIR-878
2. ASUS RT AC1300UHP
3. TP-Link Archer C9
4. ASUS RT-AC66U WIRELESS AC1750

Thanks

Get ASUS RT-AC66U, make sure it is B1 revision.
Then flash it with https://asuswrt.lostrealm.ca/about

I feel quite weird when people keep reporting C1200 & DLINK 850L cannot achive 800Mbps via cable while I’m not having that issue. It can’t be true that those routers are all faulty.
*
~.~

Sigh....either cables problem, BTU port misconfigured, NAT Acceleration off and 'Spectre + Meltdown' problem.

Pick one.

Cable? Probably not, BTU? nope NAT Acceleration is turned on, Spectre + Meltdown' problem? nope i direct connect my Laptop to PC and get 930++Mbps ethernet speed
[attachmentid=10022155]
i think my tp link C1200 is the problem?
*
Technically, you have Spectre + Meltdown problem where one of the CPU core is maxed as shown in your screenshot. Your CPU probably has high clock or powerful enough to offset the penalty.....or is it due to Turbo Boos skewing the result?. hmm.gif

Laptop has funny 'Turbo Boost' management.
For instance, i5-5200U has base clock of 2.20GHz and turbo clock of 2.7GHZ. If it is clocked at 2.2ghz due to temp, LAN transfer is limited to 370Mbps. If it is suddenly turbo boos at 2.7ghz, LAN transfer will increased to 500Mbps.

Anyway, have you try one of fellow forummer about clearing cookie and cache plus incognito mode to speedtest?

Impossible for C1200 WAN to LAN routing performance to be 300 - 400 Mbps only. confused.gif

They will tell you to ignore. My bill cycle ended yesterday and based on the trend, I will get mine on 18th every month. I can tell you the actual bill will be the same too, just prepare to complain if anything unfair. We wait for the bill to see breakdown.
*
Exactly, if you asked for billing correction / rebate, TM tends to "reflect the correct amount" after 3 months. In the mean time, "please pay the extra bill to avoid disconnection, it will be refunded into your TM account after 3 months" ranting.gif Farkkkkk!!!

It's really unfair to consumer to pay extra and what if TM did not reimburse after 3 months?  doh.gif

No idea, but billing tends to fall under KPDNKK
Internet Service quality = SKMM

TM came and replaced my router with DIR842 with MU-MIMO.

Package is 500Mbps.

They tested with their thick Cat6 cable on their and mine devices and achieved 520+ Mbps.

They tested 2.4 Ghz and got about 170+ to 200+ Mbps.

And 5ghz above 200+ .
Now , I got 3 questions.

1. Does this router sufficient for the time being before I buy something better to ultilize 300Mbps and above on Wi-Fi?

2. How so no login to the Router? They set it up and now I forget to ask for the password. I found there's user password on the bottom, do they use that during set up?

3. They recommend me getting new Wi-Fi adapter with A.C and I have one in mind, DWA182, should be good for getting close to 500Mbps or DWA192?

They tested my Cat5e and strangely it maxed at about 90mbps
*
I believe the real situation is like this:

Before the turbo, he wanted a good router, but StuartLee2015 is a stingy person. He knew Asus brand is good, but he was too stingy to spend money. Thus he asked for the cheapest asus router available which is RT-N12HP B1.

Back to few days ago when his account was turbo-ed.
He claimed he will purchase expensive router to max out his 500Mbps turbo such as DIR 878 and ASUS USB-AC53 adapter. (Everyone know StuartLee2015 is bullshitting by now)
When he learnt that his cable might be the issue, he went and bought the cheapest possible long cable without checking it for CAT5e certification. Not only that, he said he wanna buy DWA182 instead of USB-AC53.
He probably has only TWO real cat5e cables which was bundled with RGX4400 and ONU.

When the TM technician came after his begging, TM probably brought along DIR842 and normal cat5e (bundled with DIR842 instead of that cat6 bullshit) and demonstrated it is router problem as expected.
TM probably said to StuartLee2015 he could refresh his unifi contract duration and that DIR842 will be his.
Being the world most stingy person, StuartLee2015 immediately accepted the condition.

No lol... I not stingy.. I have limited funds atm.

I purchased RT-N12BHP back when still 50mbps last year. Never though this year it won't enough. And since it's only 50mbps, the shop recommend me that router.

And the cable is I bought way before the asus router, rarely used . I don't even know back Then when I first bought It, cat ratings...

I am indeed will be getting DWA878 the next month and getting the DWA192 for now to at least have A.C adapter.

The cat5e supplied along with hypptv back when vip5. It has 3 to 4.

I made a request for TM technician to come and check what's the problem before I went ahead and buy the DWA878 and 182/192 and the problem still exist of unstable LAN and Wi-Fi speed due to Pilot Phase.

I can always switch to AC53 if that's better than DWA182/192.
*
rolleyes.gif

I find it unlikely since you already refreshed your contract and accepted that DIR842.

Anyway, DIR842 only has 2x2:2 configuration, so over 5Ghz with 2x2:2 wifi adapter, best case wifi speedtest will be 400Mbps without interference from neighbouring 5ghz hotspot.
Don't complain about not reaching 500Mbps again with wifi.

Something very strange about this speedtest hosted by TM. Just came back from my bro's house in Semenyih. His Unifi got turboed 500Mb almost two weeks ago and his speed never goes beyond 100Mbps. So he requested for my help to troubleshoot the problem.

Router:
Asus AC68U

Device connected:
1- Minix Neou1 (Lan)
2- Three smart phones (wi-fi 5Ghz)
3- Samsung tablet

I tested my Laptop through LAN, I got max average speed 510-518Mbps but when tested his Minix u1 android through LAN and 5Ghz wi-fi, can only get 90-95Mbps.

All other device also the same..and all this  while using TMnet speed test. rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

HIs AC68U configurations are the same as mine and I spend few hours trying to figure out with no luck. sweat.gif

Just about when I was about to leave, I tried test the speed with my HP via android base Ookla speedtest and guess what, I got max speed 380Mbps..then test again using web based I only managed a paltry 60-68Mbps  blink.gif

His android media box  yielded the same maximum speed 518Mbps result when I install Ookla speedtest but only managed below 100Mbps when using Tmnet speedtest

It only affect Android device and not PC/laptop..hmm any clues why?  blink.gif
*
Ah, the webkit/webview rendering engine something has cpu limitation when speedtest via web browser. Best to use speedtest apps on android.

QUOTE(StuartLee2015 @ Sep 16 2018, 02:49 PM)
You all misunderstood me.

I accept the renew contract to get the router to at least have a decent router for now than using RT-N12BHP before upgrading to better router when I got next month pay.
*
~.~ Finally, he admitted it.....
Note: you will be charged for on site visit. nod.gif
edit: Still nobody gonna trust you will purchase new router. mega_shok.gif

Let see how will he respond to TM after his bill has additional RM53....... biggrin.gif

Well, that is 54% of 300Mbps 802.11N 2x2:2. Close to the effect 60% theoretical limit.

So, no ways to get faster than 60% then? what's if get 3x3 router?
*
ac : single stream 80Mhz channel width link speed = 433Mbps
n : single stream 40Mhz channel width link speed = 150 Mbps

60% of overall 'link speed'. It doesn't matter how many streams.........

802.11AC actually has more 'inefficiency' than 802.11N........somewhere around 55% compared to 802.11N

520 divided by 866 = 0.60046189376443418013856812933025 ----> 60%

Hmm...... no maxed out cpu usage on one core. Guess spectre + meltdown issue isn't applicable for you.

I ran out of solution on what is wrong with your turbo. wacko.gif

Try to clear browser cache and cookies. Someone mentioned he/she got proper speed on speedtest website after clearing those.

QUOTE(miloaisdino @ Sep 16 2018, 08:42 PM)

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Telecommunications companies have until Sept 30 to submit the proposals for the new broadband packages to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), said Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

"I hope that after the proposals are submitted to the MCMC, we can implement them and then the broadband prices will drop and the speed will increase by the end of this year," he said in a post on his official Twitter account on Sunday (Sept 16).

Gobind Singh said the proposals were initially supposed to be submitted before Aug 31, but there were requests for it to be extended for two years.

"We reject it. The extension is only until Sept 30. This is because the SST (Sales and Service Tax) was implemented on Sept 1 and there was a need to resolve certain issues such as prepaid reload cards first. No more extension after this," he said.

Gobind Singh said he would hold a meeting with all telecommunications companies after Sept 30. - Bernama

Good, if only Mr Gobind can pressure TM to turbo existing account as soon as possible...... hmm.gif
