i think something to do with the anus skin is more prone to tearing as it is not made for penetration by penis and lack of sufficient lubricant

Once there're microscopic tears, things can transmit between the anus and the penis more easily

My understanding is that it is more related to anal sex than LGBT. Just that LGBT is more likely to engage in anal sex.

Transmission rates are surprisingly "low" for vaginal sex. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating unsafe sex if hetero but just saying that's the reason why the incidences are higher among LGBT.

1) gay communities are small compared to different sex relations. so diseases pass on from one person to another very easily.

2) no pregnant no condoms

3) they only do it in the butt which mean there's significant tearing at the anus which leads to transmission.
